I love reading a good Star Trek book.
There’s nothing I dislike because, I occasionally think positive and good vibes.
There’s no such thing as an easy review because, honesty comes first.
Star Trek The Original Series is currently my favourite.
Star Trek The Undiscovered Country is one of my favourite Star Trek movies.
Captain Sulu is my favourite Star Trek character and his adventures aboard the U.S.S Excelsior began in Star Trek The Undiscovered Country.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the most-remembered books from the Trek canon

This is an unusual book that focuses more on the author's original characters than on the canon Trek characters, and it's not served well by the overexcited blurb on the back cover. It focuses on the friendship between two women, human Cleante and Vulcan T'Shael; their exploration of each other's culture and philosophy is fascinating and thought-provoking.

It also focuses on the effects of abduction and captivity on them, with an unsettling sexual element that does not play well in the modern era. That said, the book is well-remembered, still discussed today, and certainly still worth a read if you're looking for more than spaceships and lasers in your Trek reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Basically Kirk's and Spock's female versions

I really loved that novel, even though the crew of the Enterprise kind of takes a backseat in this one. The story of a friendship between two women - one human, one vulcan - that endures captivity is told. I love the fact that Kirk and Spock feel reminded of their own relationship and especially Spock has to revaluate his choices towards emotion in order to help the young vulcan accepting the warmth of friendship and embrace the illogic of it. I liked the story very much.

Wander Bonanno never disappoints with her novels, and this one is EXCEPTIONAL. A very emotional story about a friendship of two women whose lives kind of parallel those of Kirk and Spock. Also added insight into Klingon psychology - I highly recommend it.
