Cactus Flowers

Translated from the Portuguese of Judith Teixeira (1880–1959), perhaps the only bisexual woman poet to participate openly in Lisbon’s modernist literary scene.

I am a poet, translator, editor, and medievalist with a PhD in comparative literature from the University of Pennsylvania.

My completed manuscripts include Christine de Pizan’s One Hundred Ballades and One Hundred Ballades of a Lover and His Lady, as well as Sapphic Rhythms, a new selection of poems by Renée Vivien. I am also translating the poetry of Marie Krysinska and Alfonsina Storni.
