My name is Tomáš Beneš and I am an indie game developer from the Czech Republic. I have been making games since 2010, starting with Game Maker.
During high school, I fully transitioned to Unity and spent a long time unsuccessfully trying to create a 3D RPG set in an original world, together with a former classmate from elementary school. While the project was never finished, it taught me a lot about 3D development, worldbuilding, and the realities of large scope projects.
After graduating and entering the workforce, I worked in several roles, first as an electronics salesman and service technician, later as a Java programmer, and eventually as a courier. Although I had less free time, I never stopped developing games. I continued working on personal projects, participating in game jams, and steadily improving my skills.
Over the years, I started many games but struggled to finish them, mainly because my expectations were always too high. Game jams became a turning point for me, they taught me how to set realistic scopes, make smart design decisions under time pressure.
Today, I focus on creating small to medium-sized games, experimenting with mechanics, and continuously growing as a developer. I am especially interested in gameplay programming, prototyping, and working with Unity.
I hope you enjoy my games and don't forget to leave a comment.
