Eat, drink and be merry…or more holiday eating

Regular readers know I love food. I enjoy cooking (for me, chopping vegetables is an exercise in mindfulness), reading about food, listening to podcasts on the latest in nutrition. It isn’t just about eating, it is about trying new things, enjoying old favourites, being happy with the simple and appreciating the art of good cooking.

Words on Wednesday: café life

Tucked away on Taranaki Street is August Eatery, a great place for lunch or coffee on any day of the week. The food could be said to be ‘Mediterranian inspired’, full of fresh herbs, strong flavours and interesting combinations. The building is part of the heritage listed Methodist church complex (you can see just a bit of the actual church in the featured image at the top of the post). On sunny days, you can sit outside on the pink stools and watch the world go by.
