THURSDAY GOODIES.....

 I like Thursday because...

I got a phone call from my library...they are starting up the book club again.  It's been 6 months since we had a meeting...I miss all the folks that come to the meetings.  We have a meeting on the 24th at 6:30....it will be outside in the pavilion, so we can have social distance.

I also like that I got my Valentine Quilt done, you can see my post HERE.  On to the next UFO...my Jar Quilt.  It needs sandwiched, tied and binding.  But I'm out of batting, so I'll have to order some.

I also like this new show I've been watching on Netflix...New Tricks.  They have 8 seasons and I'm on season 6..there are 12 seasons done, so hoping Netflix gets the rest of them.  You can read all about this T.V. show on wiki

Our tomatoes have been producing lots of tomatoes...nothing like a fresh tomato off the vine.  These are called Black Prince tomatoes..they have less acid for people that can't tolerate a regular tomato.

The strawberries are producing...but sorry to say they don't make it to the house..they get picked and ate from the vines.

Do you read the comics?  One of my favorites is Garfield..

I laid out my Crazy Quilt on my design "floor" to see if I had enough to put it together.  Toby and Bob decided to lay on it.

Do you have a TBR(To Be Read) list?  I have one on my blog...it's in my TAB at the top of my page.  I collect book titles when I visit other bloggers.  Then I check my library to see if they have them.  I quite a list so far.  Have you read any of them?

DISTRACTED......

I've been so distracted this past week....I had my niece here for 2 weeks.....chores to do around the house stacked up....I work best when I'm alone with my family...but having company throws me off for some reason...so not much quilting got done....I tried to post my Scrap Happy post yesterday, but my son and grand kids kept me distracted...I did get 2 pink Sunbonnet Sue Blocks done.

I also got 2 Pink Crazy Quilt Blocks done...these are for the RSC 2020 challenge....I'm making a quilt out of all the colors for 2020...if I can find out what January - April colors are???  Can anyone help with this...

I DID NOT get the ABC Quilt tied

or any quilting on my Bee Quilt....

I think I've got tooooo many projects going on....to keep up a steady pace on any one of them....I'm going to have to make a chart of some kind and just sew on that specific project.  I'll figure something out that works for me...I hope.

3. Finish my book...Green Lake✔

Synopsis
A seemingly innocent date gone tragically wrong plunges Del Honeycutt into a web of murder, lies, greed, and a hidden fortune dating back to a crime committed 85 years earlier by his great-grandfather.

Teaser Tuesday
"I don't think so," she said.  "She wasn't killed here, so I don't think they'd have any reason to.  Evan if they did," she add, "they would do it for the nights she was here, not for an hour ago."

Over at Pintangle this week, the embroidery stitch is Basque Stitch...this is my Basque Stitch...
The new embroidery stitch I learned is Whipped Chain....
I think I had a pretty good week...I got several things on my list done last week.  As for next week's To-Do list...

A LITTLE OF THIS AND THAT......

I have company for a few days...my niece Zoey is here for 2 weeks...and Jazmane, my sons girlfriend's sister is staying a few days.  My routine gets disrupted,  I don't like change, but I learn to adapt...my reading and quilting goes to the side, with snips of each along the way.

Last week I got a few Crazy Quilt blocks made...
I finished the book I was reading...Green Lake by S. K. Epperson....you can see my review at my Book Blog....Just Books!!!!

I started a new book....All Lies by Andrew Cunningham....you can check it out here.
I got the Scrappy Happy Quilt out of the hoop and started putting the binding on.
That's the stitching I'll be doing today....adding more binding.

I was walking around the yard looking at the flowers blooming...the Tulips were really pretty this year, but didn't last long....all the constant rain beat them up.

SCRAPPY GREEN......

Over at So Scrappy, it's still green for the color this month.  I made a couple more Crazy Quilt blocks.
Someone asked last week about my Quilt Journal and how those pieces of fabric pinned in the corners of the block work into my journal....
This is a spread in my journal on Crazy Quilt blocks....
I have a picture of the block, samples of threads used, fabrics used....and I list how many buttons, ribbons, laces, or what ever else I use for embellishments.

I'm also sharing a picture of my sons dogs...for Camera Critters....he has always had dachshunds...he's had 6 of them over the years...Dachshunds have a life span of about 8 to 10 years.  When he would loose one, he would go find another one.  The latest one is Toby....Toby is a rescue dog...my son drove to Illinois to get him...this is Toby snoozing....
This is a collage of his dogs...
Have a great.....

13 QUILTS TO FINISH.......

I have a really long list of quilts that need to be finished....the tops are done, just haven't put them together.  I really love making quilts, and I always have so many ideas floating around in my head, but I hate putting them together.  So I have challenge myself to do at least 1 a month...or maybe 2 a month.  Here is my list of 13 quilts to finish....linking up for Thursday 13.

1. Zoey's Quilt
2. ABC Quilt
3. Happy Scrappy Quilt
4. Jar Quilt
5. Boo Quilt
6. Valentine Quilt
7. Under the Sea Quilt
8. Indiana Leaves Quilt
9. Crazy Quilt - 12"
10. Dresden Quilt
11. Circles Quilt
12. Red Work Quilt
13. Blue Work Quilt

All of these quilt tops are done, except for the redwork and bluework.  All I have to is sandwich and bind them.  I'm working on the Happy Scrappy quilt now.  I'm putting the binding on now...it should be done in a few days.
Have a great......

Lost Week......

To-Do Tuesday May 19 - 26

Last weeks list of To-Do's didn't go so well...

1. Tie the Scrappy Quilt✔
2. Start the binding of  Scrappy Quilt
3. Put the ABC quilt together and in the hoop

I didn't accomplish much last week...I was feeling pretty poorly.  We have been having on again off again rain this past week which resulted in a Flood Watch for us.  So everything is wet, wet, and wetter.  The weather affects my health....I have COPD...
(Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs. Symptoms include breathing difficulty, cough, mucus (sputum) production and wheezing.)
So when the humidity is up I have trouble breathing.  The rainy weather also affects my Degenerative Joint Disease, which causes me to hurt when I move.
Degenerative Joint Disease, which is also referred to as osteoarthritis (OA), is a common “wear and tear” disease that occurs when the cartilage that serves as a cushion in the joints deteriorates. This condition can affect any joint but is most common in knees, hands, hips, and spine. So not a good week for moving.  And on top of all this....I was putting dishes away and dropped a Cast Iron Skillet on my foot...there was lots of cursing going on, it HURT!!!  Now I have a colorful looking foot.

Sorry for all the rambling about my week.  I did get the Scrappy Quilt  tied.

I also dug out the ABC Quilt....it is next in the hoop, but have to sandwich it.

To-Do for week of May 19th to May 26th.

1. Cut binding for Scrappy Quilt
2. Sandwich the ABC Quilt
3. Finish my book...Green Lake
4. Learn a new embroidery stitch
5. Work on Frog hanging (which may turn into a quilt)

The stitch this week for TAST is Oyster stitch.   You can read all about it over at Sharon's place...Pintangle.
Here is my Oyster Stitch...

It's the red line going down a seam on a Crazy Quilt block.

As for reading....I did get a little further on the book I'm reading...Green Lake by S. K. Epperson.

Teaser Tuesday

The urge to hit him was overpowering, but Eris settled for slamming Lyman against the car again.
"Don't even think about selling that line...You're the one holding all the cash, not her."
Eris kicked the driver's door, making a huge dent in the side.  "Sue me."

NOTE:  click on the pictures to make them bigger, for better viewing.

Hope everyone has a great.....

BOOKS, QUILTS AND EMBROIDERY......

To-Do Tuesday.....May 5, 2020

My list last week...
1. Tie and bind the 4th of July Quilt
2.  Learn a new embroidery stitch...Wrapped Coral Stitch
3. Work on my SAL(Stitch A Long)

What have I been doing this week?  A little of this and a little of that.  I have been working on putting the binding on the 4th of July Quilt.  This quilt is a little bigger than the other 2 I recently done....so it's taking a little longer.  I've got one side done and have started the the top.

Learning a new embroidery stitch didn't get done or working on my SAL...I've had this obsession about getting all my quilt UFO's done, which is a good thing, as most of these quilts I'm working on have been stored away for many years.... so it seems everything else has gone by the wayside.

I did manage to get my book I've been reading finished...In Good Faith by Scott Pratt...this is book 2 in the series, I really enjoyed reading this book.  If you like mysteries, murder, and lawyers, you'll like this book.  *****

I've started another book...How to Bake a Murder by K. J. Emrick, it's a cozy mystery.

As for embroidery, I didn't get anything done on my SAL....but I did do a TAST stitch...It's called Buttonholed Cable Chain...It's a very pretty stitch, can't wait to put this one on a Crazy Quilt block.  Sharon over at Pintangle is the host for TAST, check it out...lots of embroidery over there.
Next Weeks To-Do List....

1. Finish the binding on the 4th of July quilt
2. Tie the Scrappy Quilt.
3. Work on RSC 2020 Quilt(Dark Green)

Well, that's it for me...Hope you all have a great....
