Nestorian Infestation: the Second Game

Last week I had a great INQ28 game with my friend Tommy! It's always nice to set up the terrain and have a quick game and a beer.

We played the second game of our Nestorian Infestation campaign. It has been an ongoing project we have been working on for over two years. My Genestealer Cult warband has even been featured in Blanchitsu!

I really recommend checking out the battle-report on Tommy's blog: bigbossredskullz

Duel for Golden Daemon 2017

Hello all!

I've finally photographed the duel I made for this years Golden Daemon. There were a lot of amazing entries in the competition, and it was great to see all of them in the flesh. I got a finalist pin for this entry!

The base was made of a large plastic pipe cut into the right shape. The edges of the pipe were made with rusted metal plates. They where bent into place and smoothed into the surface with greenstuff. To mach the rusted texture on the plastic surface I used superglue and baking powder. Some places I also used GW crackle paint and Typhus Corrosion. I gave the outside of the pipe an earthy texture using white glue, sand, earth and roots.

The Genestealer isn't converted at all. It's a model from Space Hulk. The Genestealer bursting through the floor os one of my favourite miniatures. I used greenstuff, superglue, cracklepaint and typhus corrosion to smooth it into the pipe.

The human explorer is a mix of Solar Auxillia and Genestealer Cult bits, with a Chaos Renegade Militia backpack. I regret using a helmeted head on this one. He would look more surprised and scared if I you could see his facial expressions.

The rust was painted by stippling AK interactive rust effects and rust coloured FW weathering powders over a dark brown undercoat.

Nestorian Infestation: Giant Psychic Spore

Here is my newest creation for the Nestorian Infestation project. This is the same kind of miniature as the baby faced giant servitor I made last year (LINK). But this one has a mix of both mechanical parts and flesh.

The Genestealer Cult uses a mix of Mechanicum and Genestealer technology to create their warmachines. This one is an unstable Psychic Spore hidden behind a metal shield made from the face of a metal statue.

I based this model on the big spore and tentacles from the Tyranid drop pod kit. The face is a greenstuff copy of a cheap angel statue.

A game with Red Skullz and news from Nestorian Infstation and Outgard

It's been a while since I posten any of my own stuff on the blog. I haven't been able to do much modeling and painting since Armies on Parade, but I have a few news I'd like to share with you.

The terrain I've been building for Nestorian Infestation is more or less finished. It has been on my shelf for several months. But I decided to paint a few details, and wash the board before Bigbossredskullz came to my place for a game last week. He has written two battlereports using his new set of rules, a mix of Age of Sigmar and Necromunda. You can read about it on his blog (LINK).

Originally we planned to play a game of Nestorian Infestation. But my Genestealer Cult is currently in England, being photographed for Blanschitsu! Instead we decided to have a classic game of an Inquisitorial warband vs Chaos. He used his fantastic Tzeentch warband, and I used Inquisitor Hannibal Rex and his retinue.

At the moment I'm mainly focusing on the Outgard project. But when the new Genestealer Cult boxes came out, I couldn't resist putting together a few models. Here are two new characters for my prison themed Genestealer Cult:

As I mentiones earlier the Outgard project is my main focus at the moment. The game in Helsinki is just over two weeks away, and I still have a couple of models I have to finish before the event. First up is my tracked wytch hut. When I saw Ana Polanscak's finished chapel, on her blog Gardens of Hecate (LINK), I really wanted to do something similar. Even though I wanted to build a wooden house, I wanted to give it some 40k madness. I decided to make something like Kris Kuxi's Churchtanks, and started to build the house on top of an old Land Raider.

I've also started to paint my Knight for the Outgard Warband. More on this guy will come soon!

I'll be back.
