Something About Birthright Citizenship

I don’t wave the flag much these days, but I will say that the United States Constitution is something that should be taken seriously, and the rule of law matters. Fear mongering and racism should never be the reason to change something like birthright citizenship. America isn’t America without it.

An Update On Me

Friends, I would like to give you an update on me. The past few weeks have been a challenge in taking care of me and mine. Laura is healing, and I am grateful for that. It took a lot out of me to get her there. Spouses are supposed to do that. However, I was challenged emotionally, spiritually, and even physically a little. I am still taking care of her wounds, and that is a task I am glad to do. Having supportive friends has helped, and I would like to have some time to hang out and maybe have a cold one. Yes, life is returning to normal, but it’s going to be a long time before it is indeed normal.

AEW Forbidden Door – Great Global Pro Wrestling

Tonight we have the All Elite Wrestling Forbidden Door pay-per-view event going on. Forbidden Door is an event with AEW, New Japan Pro Wrestling, CMLL out of Mexico, and Stardom from Japan, professional wrestling promotions battling it out for glory, gold, and more. I am hoping for some great graps and fun. Pro wrestling is the sport of kings and queens.

From Nerd Corner – I Have Joined The Cult of Steve Jobs

I bought a 2017 iMac and souped it up to run its Sequoia operating system through a program called OpenCore Legacy Patcher. This is a well designed computer with a beautiful operating system. Currently I am using the apps that came on the computer only. I might download an office suite to have suitable word processing capabilities. Any advice for this Mac novice is welcome.

Happy Father’s Day To All

In some parts of the world it’s Father’s Day. I had a great dad and granddad, but I know that not everyone did. Fathers come in many varieties and circumstances. Some moms do double duty as dads as well. Dads of dogs and cats and other creatures like me count too. Thanks to all the dads who are setting an example of making the world a better place.

My maternal grandfather and father.. Both celebrating Father’s Day in heaven today.
My fraternal grandfather and me as a wee lad. He has been gone since 1985.

Juneteenth, A Celebration of Freedom

Today is Juneteenth in the United States. Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when enslaved Texans learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is indeed the day when all slaves were free.

It’s an important holiday to remember a dark part of American history where people owned people. It’s something that should never be repeated. Freedom takes vigilance and practice. I celebrate with those whose ancestors were enslaved longer than they should have been.
