The Evolution of The Walk

To slow down the consequences of involuntary aging, we've had to take strong measures to keep ourselves as healthy and young as possible.
Last year, mom was getting ahead of the rest of the family by exercising pushing little girl in the stroller for two to five miles on most days. Then, Christmas came, family visited, it snowed... Not.
Right after the vet said I was getting arthritic and over weight, dad told mom she should stop having dessert, bread with butter and chocolate.
The next day, mom and I started walking together - and a few days later my sister joined us. Getting fit is a family goal for us! I hope that the 3/16th of a mile that we walk almost everyday shows its results soon!

Bye bye sweet friend.

My dear Payton,
You've been a role model for me.
Your strength despite health issues inspired me.
Your mom and dad's dedication were admired by us.
Just, why did you leave us too soon?
We will miss you.

Love and long distance kisses,
Coco

Stretch... And relax.

It's Monday!
Mom is having a serious case of the overtired - stressed - working - nursing - mother.
What kept her going? That little girl's smile and this little pug's kiss.

Bed sharing

Mom and dad share the bed with my little sister. I choose to sleep on the floor, right next to the bedside table. I contribute with the soothing white noise mom needs to sleep, without having the risk of falling down from the big tall bed.
Above is the proof that I'd rather not be in bed - I want to jump down as soon as mon puts me up. Should I mention that I didn't hear dad leave the house early morning? We don't want him finding me in places he says I shouldn't be, don't we?
If I had known that he had left for work already, this story would be a little different.

Green with envy

Due to things my parents had to do around the house, I missed celebrating properly yesterday.
At least I got to chill out unlike others, who had to help clean up.
Lucky pug!

Four Hundred

Friends,
Not that I keep counting or anything like that, but I realized that my last post was number 400.
To celebrate I will share with you all a few family secrets:
- we are all very lazy
- we think that naps on the floor are the best
- we love naps
- we sleep early every night
- I've been a good influence for my family, as you can read above.

Now I am off to get ready to celebrate Saint Patrick's day. Pictures to follow tomorrow. Have a nice day, everyone!

Recipes, please

Now that my sister is starting to resemble an actual human being (instead of the pooping cute doll she used to be), mother is thinking of activities in which she should engage herself with the help of the little girl. It is way too soon to sew or scrapbook, she thinks.
"Cooking? Baking?", came to my mind, at once.
"thanks for the thoughtful suggestions, Coco"
"I'll get the recipes, you get the ingredients, and we'll let little sister handle the finished product!" *wink, wink*

Imagine...

To go on a whole morning with nothing to eat or drink because you are going to have your teeth cleaned later in the day.
Top that with someone taking advantage of the situation with the lame excuse of "after all, you can only have kisses for breakfast today!".

Slumber party

... And the morning after. Where's my breakfast?

Another vet visit

Friends,
It is a mystery why I love so much to go to the vet. It may be the fact that it involves a car ride - and a possibility of going out for lunch afterwards, or the fact that I've trained the vet well to provide a treat or two when she is done. I won't disclose the real reasons but I'll just say that whenever I hear:
"Coco, hoy vamos a ir a la doctora"
(Mr. Google, please translate that for my friends. Thank you), I go crazy happy.
Lucky me, we've visited the vet quite often lately. Mom asks me to add that I am doing better, though.

Pizza quest

Hello friends!
On Sunday my family and I went to the farmer's market. We got there too late but they were able to score kettle corn and brick oven pizza. I, as usual, didn't have an easy time getting a bite of pizza.
They work on workdays, I work the weekends.

Petition

There was a day, a few weeks ago, when I woke up, got ready, and went out to the mall. I didn't get to go shopping and neither my mother or sister did, but it was fun, nevertheless.
"My petition for today, is to go there again."
"It's too hot today. Besides, we are going to the vet", mom replied.
"The vet?! Squeee!"
I got so excited that for the following hours and until we finally got in the car I reminded mom why she would like to change my name to Mr. Coco Humpington.
