Beano, Daleks, and Dandy artwork in this week's auction

I've listed more of my original artwork on eBay this week and the auctions end on the evening of Sunday 18th January

These are the original hand drawn artworks I did for Pup Parade (Beano), Postman Prat (Dandy Annual) and The Daft Dimension (Doctor Who Magazine).

Here's the link for the auctions (where each listing shows close up photos of the art). All bids appreciated!

Social Media listings

Considering the depths that Twitter / X has sunk to since Musk took control I won't be posting there very often from now on unless things radically improve (and I doubt they will). Frankly though, I feel it's already crossed the line with the disgusting Grok scandal so I'll only be using Twitter to guide followers to my other social media platforms before ultimately abandoning it altogether.

If you want to follow my active social media accounts, here they are...

The latest Daft preview

Advance preview of a clipping from my next Daft Dimension. Yes, I've drawn the 15th Doctor at last. See the full comic strip in Doctor Who Magazine No.625, in shops this Thursday! (8th Jan). It's the one with Tom Baker on the cover after being awarded his MBE!

The Lewniverse Awaits You!

One of the nice surprises about that Sonic the Comic tribute comic that Sonic fans did a while back (see this link) was that they designed an advert on the back page to promote my comics. Very professionally done and much appreciated!

Remember that my comics are only available to buy directly from me (not in shops) and the link to order them from is here:

Coming later this year...

Here's an advance look at a panel from one of my Dinah Mo stories that will appear in The Dandy Annual 2027 when it goes on sale around September of 2026.

I've written and drawn three Dinah Mo stories for the book, which will run to two pages each. As previously mentioned, this will be my final work for DC Thomson. In fact, most likely my final work in mainstream children's comics.

However, that doesn't mean I'm done with comics altogether! I'm continuing with my Daft Dimension strip in Doctor Who Magazine every month. I'll also be contributing to a few indepenent comics such as The77 and others I can't mention yet.

Plus of course, I still intend to complete my self-published Combat Colin and Brickman comics which should conclude this year. I have other self-publishing plans beyond that but I've learned that due to health and monetary concerns there's no point in making promises. (See here about my health condition.) You'll hear about the comics if and when they're ready.

I hope you'll appreciate that as far as self-publishing goes I'm a one-man outfit, which I prefer as I can follow my own vision. However it also means that I will avoid using crowdfunding as I don't want to accept pledges for projects I might not be able to deliver. The best option for me is to get the work done in advance, save up for printing costs, and then publish the comics when they're set to go.

New Year... 1996!

Here's the Tom Thug page I did exactly 30 years ago for the New Year issue of Buster for 1996. This would be the last New Year theme Tom Thug story I'd do, as Buster went all-reprint after the 9th July issue of that year.

I've just noticed an error. I'd forgotten to put the red checks on Tom's Dad's shirt after the first panel. Not that he always wore the same shirt, so perhaps not many readers noticed, but I should have picked up on it before I sent it off for publication. Anyway, my apologies. Better late than never, even after three decades!

Happy New Year!

Reflections on 2025

It's time for my usual round up of the year with selected photos of the past 12 months. It's been a quieter year due to only doing two conventions (but both very enjoyable - Macc Pow! and the London Comic Festival).

This was also the year I semi-retired from comics. Due to being more fatigued I struggle more with deadlines at times, and I was also tired of pursuing publishers who were no longer interested so it was time to face reality and make a change. Instead, I decided to focus on my own characters and my monthly strip for Doctor Who Magazine, plus selling my old pages to collectors.

I managed to get away for a couple of short holidays to Blackpool, and a very enjoyable night locally seeing Jasper Carrott's act, plus a few local walks on the green route.

It was good to catch up with those of you that I did see this year. Hopefully I'll make it to more comic cons in 2026, health permitting. Thank you to my pals for your friendship and support, and a Happy New Year to you all!
