Phew! What a Challenge!

It is 10.47pm where I live Down Under... and I've managed to finish something... :) It is going to fit into three challenges - mine, Di's and the Early Bird Christmas one. Now that is being efficient, right?!

Here it is, a table runner that I started over four years ago in Saudi. now it is done:

Not the best photo - here is one with better colors:

And that is as good as it gets at this time of the night.

Tomorrow we draw the winner..... :)

More Finishes!

Only one day left and there have been more finishes this past week!

Cassie has been on a roll! Here are her latest finishes... some cute pink pants:

A set of hankies made from old shirts (very frugal!):

A set of bibs:

And this cute doll:

Way to go Cassie! I think you have finished the most projects of us all this month!!!

Dot has finsished this gorgeous bag:

Oh! I want to make one!!!!

Kirsty has finished another quilt! It is so cute:

Love those froggies!!!!

Shelley has finished this lovely stitchery:

Hmmm.... I want to make this one too :)

But......

I can't, because, me, moi, I - the one who is hosting this challenge - have only managed to get ONE UFO finish done for this month!!! Sigh!!! But... I have one day... heehehehehehee!

And so do you all!! So, let's get busy for one more day.. but, on the other hand, if you are as tired as I am and need a weekend off, then don't worry, because we'll be finishing things again next month :)

To all who joined in, please let me know if I missed one of your finishes - the way my brain has been working lately I wouldn't be surprised!!!

Tomorrow I am hoping to post a finish of my own, and on Sunday I will draw a name for the pirze :)

Sorry I'm Late.... and finishes

It's been one of those weeks, and I know... I haven't got the next block up for Fruit of the Spirit. Please bear with me a little longer.... I've had an ear infection, and a tummy upset and... The block is ready, I just need to do the fiddly bits of turning it into a pdf.

While you are waiting, here are some more finishes from our little Finishing Stitches group:

Yvonne has finished a cot quilt!

Who is it for Yvonne? I forgot to ask. But someone is going to be happy with this bright and chirpy quilt. Yvonne is heading off for a long weekend with some other crafters on Friday, so I wonder if she will finish something else...?!

And Kirsty from Monkey's Quilts has also finished a quilt! Look at all those triangles:

I am very impressed! It is so pretty! Head over to her blog to see a close up of the quilting...

If you still want to join in the finishing fun, you still have time to finish something this month and join in :) Anyone is welcome.

And that's it for today folks. I will work on getting the next block up soon! No sewing until that is done!!

Another Parcel, Some Finishes and a Question

Someone has been very naughty and very nice! Look what arrived in the mail yesterday:

A parcel from a very nice person ... Di! She is naughty because she shouldn't be spending so much money sending me stuff... but I was very happy to get it! Here is what was in it:

And three gorgeous aprons:

Thank you Di for spoiling me!!! I love it all :) You must know I love aprons :)

Now for some finishes...... not from me, but from Yvonne and Cassie! First of all, Yvonne sent me these photos of a bag she finished last week:

I tell you what, this is one clever gal! Notice it has a ZIP!! And I have seen this bag dear friends, it looks very professional! Well done Yvonne!!!

Next up is Cassie :) She finished this gorgeous set of headbands:

Aren't they just so sweet? I am so tempted to make some, and I know Elizabeth will want to as well.... way to go Cassie!

Anybody else got some ufo's done and want to join in on the fun? You have all month to sign up and finish something that has been lying around waiting for you to get motivated :) See this post for more information.

Now, ending with a question - Elizabeth and I need some help.... she is going to start a blog, but we can't think of a name.... any suggestions????

Parcels and a Finish...

I am very behind with blog posts. I got some parcels that I haven't blogged about yet, and I really need to. I was so excited to get them in the mail too :)

The first one was from Cassie, my new friend in real life and in blogland. I met Cassie at the homeschool conference a few months back and then commented on a giveaway on her blog and I won!!! So exciting!! The prize came nicely wrapped with a sweet note:

Open it up to find this:

It is just a gorgous book! Thank you so much Cassie! I can't wait to make some things from it :) Of course, I need to show some discipline and finish a few things first... hehehehehehehe!

The next parcel was from Alice, with pretty fabric of course. Cute houses for... um... for which project was this again Alice??? I can't remember... but it was for something:

And these coffee fabrics:

I could make something for Cameron from this.. another quilt one day. Thank you Alice :)

Now for my first finished UFO for the month. I started this one.... let me see, it has to be at least 5YEARS ago (!!!!) that I started to make a new cover for this small ironing board:

And now it is all done:

I think it looks much better, don't you? I forgot to take a photo of it in its UFO status.. I will do that with the next project I do, silly me.

Ok, it is bedtime because in 5 and a half hours I need to be up to watch the World Cup Finals - Holland - Spain!

HUP HOLLAND HUP!!!!

Finishing Stitches

I've been making the most of the school holidays and trying to organize (hahaha!) my sewing room :) You know what happened while I was doing this, don't you? I found lots and lots and lots of UFOs and WISPs, etc, etc, etc.... So I got to thinking.... I really need to set myself a challenge of finishing some things each month - even just one thing. It would be so nice to get some of these projects done, rather than just having them sit around in boxes or piles in my sewing room.

Therefore, I would like to invite you to join me in:

Let's get some things FINISHED this month!!!! If you want to join in, leave a comment here or email me. THERE WILL BE A PRIZE!!!! You have till midnight on the 31st of July to finish ONE UFO or WISP to be in the draw for the prize. Of course you can have more than one finish, but we don't need a lot of pressure, do we? We have enough of that with all the new challenges we decide to join all the time!!

To clarify:

1. This is to FINISH something you have already started and has just been sitting there feeling neglected.... NOT to start something new and finish it.

2. Email me your name (and blog if you have one) and I will add you to my sidebar.

3. Tell me when you have finished a UFO and I will keep a tally next to your name.

4. It can be a big or small project, quilted or knitted or crocheted or sewn or glued or whatever! Let's just get our creative spaces cleared of things that are waiting for those last stitches... (or glue!)

Feel free to grab the button above to put on your blogs and spread the word. The more of us encouraging each other, the better.

Let's get FINISHED!!!

Little Penny Peanut

Introducing, Little Penny Peanut..... She a cousin of Little Peanut from Patchwork Posse.

Five minutes after she was born, she was ready to come for an outing into the big wide world, waiting beside my new bag:

Where else to go for a first outing but Ballarat Patchwork?

After all, that is where I got the fabric for her dress and leggings, can you see it?

While I was doing some shopping, she played around in the shop and made some new friends:

A little Monster in the front window....

...who pulled her hair.... but she didn't cry..... so then she went and had a chat with a mama chook and her babies:

... after which she was ready for a cup of tea:

And that is where I found her when it was time to go home.

We both had a lovely outing.... don't you wish you could have come too?
