Cheap Toys

OK short post. Made some great finds in a bargain book shop called The Works. Believe they are all through the UK.

First off an Abrams tank. £4.99

Then we have a nice little jump jet. £2.99

And finally what is listed as a Mig 29. £2.99

All seem good value, and with very little work would be table top ready. Hope they are of interest and that others will find uses for them.

Just more stuff

Thought this blog would encourage me to build and paint. Not quite working out. As I know everyone else does, I get distracted, and dis heartened by lack of skill.

Anyway, some time ago I felt like I wanted a small star port. What now have is an old sheet of MDF painted grey, with some lines on it to look like joints and cracks in the concrete.

Visible on the board are some of the shipping container accommodation blocks I have made. Also, inspired by someone else’s work ( cant find link just now ), a VCR cassette tower block I have started. For younger readers this is what we used before Sky+.

Nice Matchbox toy, slightly converted.

Then a largely converted Airfix tank. Just loved the shape as soon as I saw it in the shop. Some of my filling is a little rough, but I think it looks like a good solid grav tank.

Then I give you a pair of Old Crow wheeled AFV. Big fan of his work, and may have to pester him for more stuff soon.

And finally, a slightly fuzzy shot of a mini from Antenociti's Workshop. It's his spider tank, but I keep seeing some sort of gunship. Will eventually work out how to make it what I want it to be. Eventually.
