APE roundup!
SO so sorry for the lack of posts/delay in my APE round-up post!
APE 2011 was absolutely fantastic- thank you to everybody who swung by our booth and said hi and bought some awesome art! Here are some pics from the event... I am pleased to say we have SOLD OUT of our first run of "The Incident at Exit 88," but we are considering a second printing, so stay tuned! Also pending is an Etsy store upgrade which will feature a fuller selection of prints, artwork, and sketchbooks for both me and Damon : D
Mermaid portrait of fan Katie!
Joint Zombie/ Mermaid portrait by me and Damon!
The ever so sweet Inci and her new San Francisco doodle : D
OMG KATE BEATON! I was so super thrilled to meet her and have her sign my book! She is such a doll! (and thank you Kate for putting up with my fan-girl nerves! ha!)

IF: Boundaries- Green Octopus
Study for a lady/"monster" themed piece!
I also felt this fit with Illustration Friday's "Boundaries" theme because I like how her hair is sort of a tentacle and how the boundary between what is her and what is the octopus....

The Pelican
So, a few weeks ago, we scattered my father in law's ashes in the ocean. He had always said that he wanted to come back as a pelican, since you just hang out all day and eat fish. When we went to scatter his ashes, three pelicans came out of nowhere, flew around the boat, and hung out for a few minutes before flying away. It was quite sweet and touching; a very good omen that Patrick was with us!

Sketchbook Project
Sooo... I was gonna do the Sketchbook Project, and then I didn't fill my book in time, so I have a half baked lil' sketchbook on my hands. Ah well!
Here a few drawings that never got scanned in... the theme was "And Then There was None," so I wanted to interpret it as mythological/ extinct things...
