Happy Gotcha Day!

Haroo everypup!  Chai here. Two years ago today was my Gotcha Day!  My Mommy said she fell in love with me as soon as she saw me.  She loved my silly ears and my milk mustache.

This picture is from when they first met me.  I was being a very good girl.  My brother was not.  Mom thought he was bein a real stinker.  I could be a stinker too, but I behaved my best.  I was only 10 weeks old, but I knew my manners.

Mom wondered what to call me.  On the way to my new house, I tried some of her iced latte and then Mom said my name would be Chai Latte Stoutino.

This picture is from my first day at home.  We have a lovely patio where we can all hang out outside as a family.  My big sister, Genny, showed me around the place and taught me the house rules.  She wasn't always happy I was around, but I love her anyway.  We play really well now.

See my milk mustache?  And my silly ear?
This is me at 13 weeks.  That ear is poppin up but I took my time growing.  I love my family.  They make me feel loved.  I get to sleep on a big bed and get lots of yummy food.  I have a great big sister to play with, along with my besties who come to visit.  Mom and Dad took me to school so I could know how to be the best good girl I can be.  I was the smallest in my class, but I learned the quickest!  There were some pure bred show dogs in my class, but that didn't stop me from bein the best!  Mom and Dad were so proud of me when I graduated.

It might be a rainy day today, but we are celebrating with lots of cuddles and snuggles.  Thanks for celebrating with me!

Until next time, ARF!

B-A-T-H

 Hello all, Genny here.

Of all of the indignities!  It is bad enough that it is our first heat wave of the summer.  But Mom said that I was stinky!  I do not smell stinky!  Then she said we needed to have BATHS!

Then, to top it all off, she has the gall to take photos of this!  I mean really!  Cannot a lady get some privacy at her bath?

I do have to admit, the water felt lovely and cool.  So I allowed them to continue without too much fuss.  It is 90 some degrees after all.

Chai put up a bit more fight than I did, but she has much less furs than I do - and she is light colored.  She can keep cool easier than I can.

It is a very good thing that we love Mom and Dad, or we would just not put up with this nonsense.

And, I suppose, I do smell rather nice.

Until next time, Roo.

Sleep Over!

Haroo!  Genny here.  We recently had a sleep over visit with our bestest friends, Isabeau and Maximus.  We had lots of fun romping in the yard.  Max and Chai sure did a lot of zoomies, but Izzy and I had kind of hung back most of the time.  Izzy is an older gal, but she mixes up with us once in a while.

Mom and Dad said it was great having them visit, but we had a few issues to work out.  Izzy and Max took our spots on the couches, which I did not really appreciate.  But they are our guests, so I let them be comfortable.  Izzy and Max also took over Mom and Dad's bed - with help from Chai.

Now, Mom appreciates a good snuggle.  Chai and I are not the best snugglers, I have to admit.  So, Mom thought she would like having snuggly puppies in the bed.  Until they took up the whole bed.  We all endured the week and took advantage of the outside when the weather allowed us to.  It rained a lot, unfortunately.  Mom did not appreciate the mud tracked into the house.  She gets so grumpy about silly things.
Here is Izzy asking for an outside snuggle.
The rest of us had to get in on that action.

Things are back to normal now.  Max and Izzy went back to their house and we have our couches back.  But they can come to visit anytime, really.

Until next time!  Roo!

It's a Blustery Day at the Inn

Hello all!  Genny here today.  The weather has been putting a damper on Mom and Dad's plans to improve the yard.  Very gusty winds are raging and this prohibits the erection of the permanent pavilion they want to put up.  So I thought I would share a couple of photos from a more serene day.

Here I am with Tiki Ted.  Chai usually poses with him, but Mom thought it would be funny if I did too.  I don't mind when there are treats involved.

Next, I am in my lookout position, making sure that there are no intruders or nasty squirrels.  It was a lovely day and I wanted to make sure that it stayed that way.  Being a mix of two working breeds, I am ever vigilant in my duties as protector.
These kind of visitors I do no mind, however.  This rather cheeky Cardinal was posing for Mom in our forsythia bush.  Maybe he thought there were treats in it for him too.

I am hoping that our weather turns for the better soon so Mom and Dad can get on with their project and we can all get on to spending a lot of time outside.  I like it when Dad moves his computer outside and works there all day.  Chai and I spend the day with him and keep him company.  It is much better than staying in the stuffy office - and Chai always hogs up my super sized dog bed.

Here's hoping you have a great Sunday!
Until next time, Roo!

Happy Birfday!!!!

Hi everypup!  It's Chai!  And guess what - it's my birfday!!!!  April 1st is my birfday and I am now 2 whole years old.

Now, since this is only my second birfday, I am kind of new at this still.  So, what is all of this birfday thing all about?  Mommy keeps making me pose for pictures, especially near Tiki Ted.  She did that a lot when I was a little puppy, but I am a big girl now, so shouldn't Mom be over this by now?

I have heard that cake may be involved, is that true?  Cake???  I could handle cake.  I would even share my cake with Genny, maybe.

I wonder what else might happen?  Do you have any suggestions?

Until next time, Arf!

Dinner O'clock

Dear friends, Genny here.  I need to ask you a question.  Does you humom make you wait for dinner?  I mean wait and wait and wait?  Mine does.  I know when it is dinner o'clock and I tell her when it is dinner o'clock.  I am very polite about it.  I go up yo her and just look at her.  She knows what I am saying with my eyes, but she says that it is too early.  So, I softly give her my paw.  She says thank you, but it is still too early.  I get a little frustrated, but I still am polite.  I say a soft "roo." Humom smiles and says "roo" back to me, but she still makes me wait.  When it is finally dinner time, it is so exciting!  She makes Chai and I sit before we can dig in.  We are good girls and have good manners, so we sit until humom says okay.  Then it is dinnertime!  It is so hard to wait!

Then comes the long wait until Breakfast O'clock....

So, yea, it has been a while

Hi, everypup!  It's us, Genny and Chai.  We are really sorry that we haven't posted in a while.  We have to blame Mom.  She has not been taking as many pictures or letting us have any computer time lately.

Anyway, here are some silly pictures she did take at Christmas time.  This year we had a Mexican theme to our Christmas, which is why Chai is wearing a tine sombrero.  Mom has gotten a little silly with these holiday themes, if you ask us.  It can only get worse from here, we fear.

Chai here: Do you see this ornament?  I really like it.  I mean I like  it a LOT.  Mommy kept saying "No, no no no" and all every time I wanted to appreciate it and enjoy it.  I don't understand.  It even had a jingle bell!  Mom says they are just for looking at.  Well, that is no fun at all!  Christmas is really silly.

We are going to try and rectify our  lack of posting, but we will have to harass Mom quite a bit to get her to let us near the computer.  She could lend us her ipad.  A swipe with a snooter is just as good as her silly fingers.

See, she got this new quilting software for Christmas and she had been trying to learn how to use it.  She uses lots of words that are unsafe for puppy ears while she is learning, so we keep out of her way when she does that.

She has also been painting the bedroom and the living room.  We helped pick the colors and we think they are great.

Well, Genny says that it is Dinner O'Clock, so we need to remind Mom about that.  Gotta keep her on track or she is likely to paint something else.

Roo, until next time
