Bananas by Anders

Banana girl sculptor Anders Ehrenborg made this really cool image with his 3D model of the statue.

Banana Girls at Tr!ckster

Banana Girl Statues have arrived just in time for Tr!ckster 2012. Tr!ckster is the creator owned pop-up event near the San Diego convention center during comic con. These Banana Girl statues will be available for purchase there.

But first, my favorite part. The unboxing.

Also available at Tr!ckster will be my usual books and cards as well as these new signed art prints featuring the original Banana Girl piece.

I'll be attending Tr!ckster much of Friday and Saturday, but the statues will be available from day one. See you there!

Banana Girls on Parade

Banana girl statues are well into production, as demonstrated by the photo below.

Everything is moving along on time for a release late this month.
Pre orders are still open.

The statue was actually modeled digitally by Anders Ehrenborg in Z-Brush. You can see the original digital model in the video above.

Below are some photos of the unpainted prototype.

Banana Girl Realized

My Banana Girl piece is now a statue! Sculpted by my friend Anders Ehrenborg in association with Digital Banana Studio. As I write this she is well into production with a ship date of late June this year. She stands 6 1/2" tall (Including the base) and is individually numbered and limited to an edition of 225 copies.

A limited quantity is now available for pre-order, once they're ready they'll ship directly from the manufacturer to you.

I've set up a separate blog to showcase additional photos and information as well as handle orders.

Also available is this nude variant, sans skirt for an additional cost. These are limited to an edition of a mere 25 copies.

Bananas For Process

I scanned this one in progress for your enjoyment.

First I "inked" the line art with acrylic.

Second I built up layers of acrylic wash. to create the forms and values. This is the underpainting.

Thirdly and finally, I lay down a transparent layer of concentrated watercolor.

The study is done simultaneous to test the colors.
