Easy Like Sunday

Hi, Friends!  Long time no see!  Our mom has been working overtime on some extra projects at work, so we don't get to see her much.  And I feel like a broken record, saying again and again that we're sorry for not visiting, sorry for not posting, sorry for being crappy blogging friends.  Hopefully one day we'll be able to be better bloggers.

We had a couple of comments and emails checking on us - we had an EARTHQUAKE last night!  Fuzzy was already upstairs in bed, and I was downstairs with my mom, snoopervising her as she looked through some papers when our entire home started shaking!  My mom and I looked at each other, then I turned and hauled tail up the stairs as fast as I could!  I, erm, had to check on Fuzzy, you know *cough*.  The shaking lasted FOREVER!  What, Mom?  Oh, it was only 45 seconds.  Well, anyway, everything is ok.  No damage was done or anything - we were about 100 miles from the epicenter.  But it was exciting!  And thank you, Friends, for checking on us - you are the best!

Hope y'all have a super Easy Sunday!!

Easy Like Sunday, the Saturday Edition

We both let our mom take photos of us yesterday while we were taking it easy.  You know how bad we've been slacking at posting, so we thought we'd better take our opportunity to post our "Easy" shots when we got the chance.  Here is me, all SEVEN pounds of me in a teeny tiny warm kitty ball.
And here is ME, chilling in one of my bajillion beds.  This one is inches away from the radiator space heater.
My mom spoke to the vet yesterday, and we're not going to do the surgery to remove my little growth.  The cardiologist said my EKG results could mean a couple of different things, so nothing was conclusive.  The very nice vet said that because of my age, he didn't want to stress me out with more tests, and without really knowing what was or wasn't going on with my heart, he really didn't want to put me under.  My mom thinks she's somehow going to be able to take a better look at that spot and see for herself what's going on.  I don't think so.  I'm not bothered by it - I don't pick at it or anything.  And I'm acting the same as I always have - I sleep a lot, I run, I play, I purr.  So there is nothing to worry about. :)  Thank you all for the purrs, though - it really meant a lot to me.  I would request that you direct all purrs to Miss Parker.  She's just a young thing and her vet results were not as good as mine.  We're both sending all of our purrs to her and her family.

Have a super weekend, Friends!

Fuzzy's Vet Report

My Vet Report
by Fuzzy

Sorry I have no photo to show you - I refuse to pose for my mom after being abandoned at the vet for 4 hours.  But guess what?  I got a good report!  My bloods are perfect!  My EKG was a little wonky, but that is probably from being stressed out.  The results are being sent over to a cardiologist to check them out, just in case.

Fuzzy had an anal probe!

Zoe, STOP SAYING THAT!  I did not have an anal probe.  I had to have my *anal glands* expressed.  But... are you ready for the best news???  I gained TWO POUNDS!  That may not sound like a lot, but I gained 40% of my body weight in just a few months!  I was 5 pounds at my last senior exam (which my mom cannot remember when it was, but it was this year).  Now I weigh 7.2 pounds!  Yay!

For a while now, I have had this little knot on my side.  At my last visit, the vet said it was a clogged oil gland (we think - we forget details sometimes).  It has changed over the last month or so, but I will not let my mom look at it.  I also would not let the vet look at it!  But I am scheduled to go in next Wednesday and have it removed, as long as the cardiologist doesn't think my EKG is bad.  We're not really worried, this will be a piece of cake.  I may also get my teef cleaned - I tried to bite the vet when he wanted to look at them this morning. hehe

Zoe's Vet Report

My Vet Report
by Zoe
I weigh 11.72 pounds.  That's one pound more that last year and almost 3 pounds more than when I was adopted 2 years ago.  So what?

I am very healthy!  My heart sounds good and I don't have werms.  I don't need an anal probe.  What, Mom?  Oh, sorry, I don't need my anal glands expressed.  I just scootch my bum across the floor to keep my floofy pants clean.  So what?

Fuzzy goes for her senior exam on Thursday.  She probably will need an anal probe.  What, Mom?  Sorry.  Fuzzy will probably need her anal glands expressed.

I am so very thankful and happy that SO MANY friends stopped by like TEN days ago to wish me a happy gotcha day!  We were trying to get around to thank everyone, but we don't seem to get very far each day.  We're so very sorry - we promise we will visit all of you eventually. Our mom will wrap up one of the things that has been occupying her time and mind tomorrow (hopefully), so we're hoping she'll be a little more accommodating after that!

Super Sunday

One of my first photos in my Forever Home!
Hi Everybuddy!  Guess what!!!  Today is my GOTCHA DAY!  Two years ago today, I came to live in my forever home!  Instead of sharing a place with 30+ other cats and having several nice ladies come visit me every day, I came to live in a place with only 1 other cat and only 1 lady to come see me every day!  I have all of the food I could ever possibly eat, tons of toys, lots of nice places to sleep, and no cats who bop me on the head!  I also don't have to live with any pesky kittens that I need to bop on the head to keep in line.  And just as good as all of those other things, I have a blog and LOTS of super duper friends from all over the world!  Life is good when you're gotted!

Thankful Thursday

Hello, Friends!  Remember me?  It's me, Fuzzy!  Just chillin' in the dirty laundry pile.  I'm a very thankful girl today, for many reasons.  I have a home where I get plenty of food and love, I have very, VERY good friends who stop by to say 'hi' and who crack us up almost every day we're allowed to visit, and last but not least, we got an award!!

Our very talented, sweet, and hilarious friends, Goro and Niko gave us this really cool award like a million sleeps ago.  We are supposed to say what we wish for the most in the world.  Now, this is tough, because there are obviously so many things that we wish - for all animals to have a safe home with plenty of food, for all of our friends to be happy and healthy, and so many other things.  Then there are the selfish wishes - for our mom to help us with our blog more, for Fancy Feast every night, for no more sucky monsters disrupting naps, you get the picture.  I can't make just one wish!!!  And I can't even be as clever as Niko and Goro when they were telling their mom about their wishes, either.  Well, I'll make a little wish for myself, but I'll use the bigger part of my wish to wish for peace, happiness, and love to all of our friends and other animals of the world.  My little wish for myself is a good senior exam.  It's coming up in the next few weeks.  It was two years ago yesterday that we said goodbye to my brother, Snuggles, and I don't think my mom is up to saying goodbye to another friend anytime soon.  So, a good report back from the vet about me would be pretty nice.

We're supposed to pass this on, but honestly, we've not been able to visit much so we have no clue who has received this award.  If anyone would like to take this award and share your wishes, we'd be super excited!!  Thank you, Goro and Niko, for giving this award and for being such funny, sweet guys.  We love you both!

Love, Fuzzy

Ho Hum

Life is B-O-R-I-N-G when I don't get to blog or visit my friends.  I'll have to find a way to entertain myself.
First I'll need to sharpen up my claws...
Now I need to KILL this rope.  It's always taunting me.
Being silly is an excellent way to have fun!
That is my tail hanging through the hole on my kitty command tower.  Or floof.  Definitely not fat.

What do you kitties to do entertain yourselves when your moms or humans neglect you?

Toes and Tail

Here are my toes:
Here's my tail with some toes:
That is all.

So What? on Monday

I had Poo Tail.  So what?
I don't have a freckle on my nose.  So what?
I now drag my booty on the carpet when I leave the litter box and I don't have worms.  So what?
I eat Fuzzy's food.  So what?

Tattletail Tuesday

Hello, Friends.  It's me - Fuzzy.  Remember me?  The good cat?
Here I am, enjoying a nice plate of Fancy Feast.  Shortly after this was taken, the fat orange pig that calls herself a cat stole my foods.  Therefore, I'm going to share with you the Tail Incident from Friday.  Several of you asked about it, but my mom said that family members don't tell each others' secrets.  However, I think when a fat cat steals food from a skinny cat, the gloves are off.

Anyway, this story about Zoe isn't a new one - it's happened at least once before with the same end result, and it's happened several times before with different end results.  So on Friday, Zoe jumped up to sit next to my mom.  My mom smelled something foul and just assumed that Zoe farted.  When the smell did not go away, my mom did a tail check and she found it: Poo Tail.  Gross.  I guess that happens to kitties with long tail floof, but still.  Gross.  So, my mom tried to help Zoe get cleaned up, but Zoe freaked out.  Eventually, Zoe forgot she was supposed to be freaked out and came to sit next to my mom again.  And that's when it happened.  Snip.  A big chunk of Zoe's glorious floofy tail was cut out!  Well, the tail wasn't cut, just the floof.  And Zoe was mortified.  She is actually a very clean girl and her floof is almost always immaculate.  It really disturbed her to have a chunk of fur missing, taking away from the normally uniform look.

Oh, and that IS a freckle on Zoe's nose.

Is It, or Isn't It?

Hi, Friends!  My mom was trying to take a picture of my NOSE.  I was not a willing participant.
She tried without the flash, to see if she could get one without my paw covering my face.
Then, she told me if I didn't let her get a photo of my nose, she was going to tell the entire blogging world about The Tail Incident from Friday, so I gave her 1 photo only.  But you can see I was not happy about it.
I will NOT let her touch my nose for more than 1 millionth of a second, so she is not sure if I have a nose freckle or just some funk on it.  I have lots of freckles in my mouf, but I haven't had any on my nose.  We'll have to monitor the situation!

We hope that all of our friends on the U.S. east coast are safe and have sought shelter if needed.  We're sending our best purrs for all of the people and animals who are dealing with Irene.  **purr**

Wordy Wednesday

It's been a while, Friends, and I apologize from the bottom of my little orange heart.  My mom has been dealing with 'personal issues' that leave her drained, she says.  It's nothing horrible, and we're not going for a sympathy vote here, I just wanted to give SOME explanation for why she's not letting us post or visit.
I can tell you one thing that has been keeping her preoccupied - she told us a while back that we might not be the OK Cats anymore!  She told us that she was really hoping that we'd be the Wisconsin Cats!  What the paw?  I don't even know where Wisconsin is!  But anyway, that fell through, so we're still the OK Cats, at least for now!  And don't worry, my mom still has a great, stable job - she's just been looking to see what else is out there.

Sooo...in summary, we stink at posting and visiting.  We're all doing fine (Fuzzy is doing grrrrrrrrrrreat).  When our mom stops being selfish and starts focusing on US again, we'll be even better!

Toysday

I love Toysday!  I got a new toy the other day.
Please excuse all of the cardboard nerdies on the carpet - Fuzzy gets them everywhere and my mom is very lazy and doesn't vacuum our stairs often.  This mousie is pretty cool.  He's kind of like my Favorite Mousies.  Except he's brown.  Let's check in with my 3 gray Mousies, shall we?

Hello, Mousie #1, how are you today?  Or wait, are you Mousie #3?  You two look very much alike... I'd have to look a lot harder to tell which one you are - maybe later.
Looking good, Mousie #2!
Unfortunately, Mousie #3 (or was that Mousie #1?) could not be located.  And it is not because I am an Irresponsible Toy Owner.  Sometimes they just can't be found.

Now, Friends, I have something that has been on my mind.  You see, if you have been reading my blog, you may remember that these Mousies are my FAVORITE toys in the world.  My mom stocks up on them anytime she can find them, because my life is ruined if I can't find a gray Mousie to play with.  Now, I've sent a few of these gray Mousies (and I think some of the brown mousies) to a few of my friends in various packages.  And do you know what?  None of my friends are as crazy about these Mousies as I am!  I just can't understand this!  Do your moms just not let you play with them because they are too precious?  Do you just not want to take a chance on hurting one?  I just don't get it!  Oh well, perhaps it's just like us and the ESS - we just don't get it, while the rest of you think the ESS is the best thing since tuna juice.

OK, well, that's all I had for today.  Sorry we still haven't been able to visit.  My mom has been hogging the computer for her own stuff lately.  Phooey.  Have a super week!

Suddenly Sunday

Wow, it's Sunday again?  Time sure flies.  I have meant to post for many days now to thank you, Friends, for having my back!  You see, here's what went down.  After the bell grabbed my claw and my mom had to free me, my mom sat me down and said "Zoe, that exact toy with its exact bell has been played with by four kitties.  You are the only kitty who managed to hurt herself with it."  And I'm all like "Woman, what are you saying?".  And she's all like "I don't know, Zoe, it's just that trouble seems to find you".  And I'm all like "I was framed!".  And she decided to go ahead and do a PSA about the danger of bells on toys.  But then do you all know what?  You all took MY side!  You all told me that you had good Moms or Humans or Servants who removed the bells BEFORE they ever gave you the toys!  Instead of showing that I'm a walking disaster, she instead showed that she is a negligent cat mom!  hahah!!! Oh yes, I have the best friends in the world.

OK, now on to serious business.  Our mom went down to Texas this weekend, an area called Hill Country.  To get there, she had to drive through southern Oklahoma (stated for those of you who are not familiar with the geography of this area).  Now, undoubtedly most of you have been hearing about the severe drought in these areas - most of Oklahoma (but not our corner) and most of Texas.  But when our mom saw these areas with her own two eyes, she was floored.  The normally lush, green, beautiful places like Turner Falls and, well, all of the area considered Hill Country were brown - not yellow with hints of green - brown.  Crops were dead in the fields.  Signs along the interstate reminded everyone that this was an extreme drought and please conserve water.  We are so very sad for the people and animals affected by this.  So, our mom told us that while we're hot - stupidly hot for a stupidly long time - this is the last time we will complain about it (this year).  Because we could be stupidly hot AND in a severe drought like our neighbors.  So we need to be thankful for what we have.

Now, to lighten it up a bit, here is my tummy.
Thanks to our friends who continue to check on us when our mom slacks.  We hope she'll let us catch up with everyone this week, but we know better than to promise.  We love you!

Trauma Drama - When Good Toys Turn Bad

Friends, I have something very important to talk to you about.  Today, one of my favorite toys turned on me.  You may or may not have seen photos of me playing with my feather wand, as shown below:

Today, that feather wand did something very Bad.  It grabbed a hold of my claw and would not let go.  My mom let go of the wand, hoping that once it was free on one end, it would let go of my claw, but it didn't.  I cried, I growled, I hissed, and FINALLY my mom was able to get it free.  To punish it, my mom removed its bell.  Now I can kill it dead and it has no way to cry out.  I've also heard that now, any toys with bells on the outside will have said bells removed, in case all of my toys had a meeting and decided to use their bells as weapons.

Easy Like Sunday

My mom says I've been a little psychotic lately.  She says that I'll be sleeping away like a little angel, then I wake up all freaked out, using every single one of my claws to escape.  I don't think that's true.  As far as making her bleed, that was an accident, as you all agreed.  I can't explain why I am so jumpy, though, when I'm awake.  Or why I let her out of my sight for hours yesterday and slept on the bed.  Maybe her crabbiness has finally gotten to me - maybe I'm turning into a crab like her!  Well, whatever.  Today is an Easy Sunday - that can all be worried about on Monday.
Oh, and no disrespect to my friends who enjoy the, umm, hot buffet, but I have no interest in eating what I have already eaten and expelled.  I leave that for my mom to clean up.

So What? on Saturday

I ate all of my food (in less than 4 seconds, thankyouverymuch), frew it up, then ate Fuzzy's food.

So what?

I miscalculated the amount of energy I needed to expend to jump from the coffee table to the arm of the chair my mom was sitting in, so I had to stick all of my claws into her leg to avoid crashing to the floor.  She bled a little.

So what?

If I would have used more energy to propel myself forward instead of knocking over the cup of water that was sitting on the coffee table, perhaps my mom would not have bled and would also not have had to clean up her glass of water from the table and floor.

So what?

My name is Zoe, and that's how I roll.  Now if you'll excuse me, I need to make myself scarce.

Thankful Thursday

Well, Friends, you sure know how to make a cat feel good!  I was so grateful for all of you who were worried that Zoe would not share the toys with me that we won from Miss Sparkle.  But I have to confess, I'm not much of a toy girl.
I can tell this is a high quality toy - it smells real nice.  But I just don't play with toys much.  Oh yes, occasionally I'll toss around a mouse or my favorite ball, but even when I was a young gal, I didn't go nuts over toys.  Now that I'm 16, I still prefer a nap to a feather or a catnip banana.  And besides, when Zoe is playing with toys, she's leaving me alone.  So, have at 'em, little sister!  Go Nuts!  Just go nuts somewhere away from me.

Tuesday is Toysday (Thank you, Miss Sparkle!)

A little while back, we were very lucky girls!  We won a door prize at one of Miss Sparkle's many birthday month parties!!!  The package arrived one day this weekend, and my mom let me check out the loot last night!!!  Lookit!
Our mom got a bookmark (so she can stop using that pathetic Amazon receipt as her bookmark - classy, Mom).  And I got THESE pawsome toys!  A Kitty Kopter, a Pawbreaker catnip ball, and a Zanie Sparkle Fish!  This Sparkle Fish is very pretty, but not nearly as pretty as our friend Miss Sparkle!
This Kitty Kopter smells really cool!  Let's see how it plays...
It's a winner!  Let's check out the other toys...
This catnip balls makes me crazy, even still in the bag!!  It was taken away soon after this - my mom just found my last catnip ball on Sunday, so this one is getting saved for when I lose my other one again.  Rats.  And I carried away the Sparkle Fish to a very special place, and my mom didn't get a photo.  haha!!

Miss Sparkle, thank you so much for my toys!!  I love them ALL!  You have super taste in toys, and I'm so proud to call you my friend!  Happy Toysday, everyone!

Sleepy Saturday

We're still here.  We have a new AC.  We're sleeping.
Love, Zoe

Something on Saturday

Hello, Friends!  We're still here, but things are NOT positive!  Our mom has been super busy at work (which we guess is positive in a way, because that's job security, right?).  It's been stupidly hot here, and our air conditioner has not been working properly.  That has our mom furious and us hot, so we haven't had much to say this week.  Well, we guess that's positive in a way, too, because now she's not abandoning us to go to the lake this weekend.  We just wanted to let everyone know that we're still here, we're still trying to read and comment on blogs when we can, and we'll post again when we have something nice to say!  Have a happy 4th!

Clarification:  We are not without an air conditioner.  Ours is just having some problems, so it's not always as cool as we would like it to be.  Our mom is just scared to leave us alone in this drastic heat in case the AC has an episode, and that makes her cranky. Well, crankier.  Oh, and we're not having Blogger problems per se, we're just having problems with our mom having time to visit blogs. :)

Easy Like Sunday

As soon as I'm done with my baff, I'm going to take a nap!  And even though my mom says it's too hot to sleep on her, I'm going to do it anyway!

As far as our commenting problem, sorry we were a little unclear.  We know things on the Internets aren't perfect.  There are dozens of versions of dozens of browsers for several operating systems, and dozens more versions of dozens of other applications that are used by said browsers.  So, when there is a hang up or a glitch on a few web sites for our particular browser version, OS, and other apps, so be it.  We seriously didn't want anyone to change settings, which is why we didn't mention any names.  Like we said in the last post, we know some have already changed their settings to hopefully help others who couldn't leave comments.  We've been trying to figure out exactly what it is that is causing the hang ups, and we could really only narrow it down to some sites that have many links on their pages (which the Lounge Cats also mentioned in our comments).  Basically, what it seems to be doing is trying to access each and every link before it will allow the comment box to populate - otherwise it's just blank (and on bad days/nights, it seems to timeout and will never populate).  But again, if it's not this issue for us, it'll be another issue for someone else.  Such is the world of Internet apps!  We probably shouldn't have brought this up at all since we weren't really looking for anyone to do anything - we were just feeling a little guilty about not being able to comment on some blogs after not checking blogs for a few days.

OK, now, off to nap!

Saturday, June 25, 2011

Sleepy Saturday

I just canNOT keep my eyes open!  I think I'll sleep the day away.  My mom says it's too hot to sleep like this.  I disagree.

P.S. We are having trouble commenting on a few blogs. They're all the Blogger-type blogs, and they all have the comment windows that pop out. Not every blog with a pop out comment box gives us fits, but several give us a problem most days, and sometimes we're not able to leave a comment at all. It seems to be most common with blogs that have something on the side panels that takes a long time to load. It's almost like Blogger/Google won't let the pop out box populate until something else loads on the page. ANYWAY... we're certainly not asking anyone to change their blog settings. We know some people have problems commenting on blogs that DON'T pop out. We just wanted to let you know that we were having some issues so you would understand why we haven't commented.

Finally Friday

It's Friday!  What a week!  Our mom abandoned us again.  We thought she said she was going to New York to see some Dolls, but she went to Kansas City to see another rock concert.  (New York Dolls with Motley Crue, silly girls.)  But, she wasn't gone too long, so it's all good!  And Fuzzy and I have been playing zoomies in the middle of the night.  That girl has got SPUNK!  She cleared off the entire nightstand!  We're pretty sure our mom likes being woken up at 3:30 a.m. to see us play.  This weekend, we're going to catch up on our friends' blogs, play a lot, sleep a lot, and eat jerky a lot!  We hope you all have a super weekend!!!!   Fuzzy and Zoe love you!

A New Philosophy

Our mom says she is being drained by negativity!  She says that negative people and negative thoughts take up too much energy.  She said that everywhere she looks, there is more negative than positive.  We think that if she stays off Facebook she'll miss seeing a LOT of negative things and people, but she's not very bright.  Anyway, we're going to try to do our part to be more positive!  We can't promise we'll ALWAYS be positive, but we'll make an effort to have our positive posts outnumber our negative posts by 10 to 1!  We'll see how that goes...  Take it away, Zoe!

Fanks, Fuzzy!  Anyway, in the name of positivity, our mom brought home some new treats!
The Katnip Lounge crew has a super Mommy who always has neat ideas.  We saw on their blog that they get (and LOVE) chicken jerky!  They are sold as treats for dogs, but who cares?!  (The treats are being propped up by the Bad Kitty bottle.  Since this is a positive post, there is no need to discuss this.)  As you can see, these treats are YUMMY!!!
Another positive thing we can share is a new friend - Pimp My Cats!  A new blogger stopped by and left a comment yesterday, so we wanted to return the favor!  This blog is about a bunch of cats in Arizona!  Three of them are indoor cats, and a bunch more of them are feral or abandoned cats in the neighborhood.  The people are doing their best to spay, neuter, and take care of the cats, but we are sure it isn't easy (or cheap).  In fact, they sound a lot like many of our other friends who take care of lots of animals who need help!  So, please stop by and say 'Hi'!

Have a super positive week, friends!  Remember, Fuzzy and Zoe Love You!

Finally Friday

Hi, Friends!  We had a storm roll through yesterday, and the temperatures dropped down to below 70 degrees!  I took advantage of that cool spell to burn off some energy that I've been saving up while we've had the hots.  It sure felt good to tear around the place for a while.  Even Fuzzy joined in!  The hots will be back tomorrow, so you have to take advantage of the good times when you can!

Sunday Meow Meow Me Me meme!

As we said in our last post, our friend King Punapippuri tagged us for a meme ages ago that our mom FORGOT.  We promised to do it this weekend, so here it is!  It is called "Meow Meow Me Me".

I, Zoe, am going to do this!

Where do I like to hang out?
Basically anywhere my mom is!

Who is my kitty crush?
I'm only FIVE!  I'm too young to have a kitty crush!  Plus, boys are mean!  But, I do think that Scouty over at the Katnip Lounge is handsome!

What is my favorite scent?
Probably plastic - plastic bags, the plastic around toilet paper rolls - I love it all.

What is my favorite tv show?
I don't watch tv really.

What is my favorite movie?
I could not take my eyes off the tv when my mom was watching "The Birdman of Alcatraz"!

What is my favorite bit of feline wisdom?
Eat it before it eats you!

Who I choose to play Meow Meow Me Me
Gosh, this is always the hardest part of awards and memes... We've been seeing this posted on several blogs, but our mom won't help us look to see who has already done it.  So, we're sorry if we've picked someone who has already done this.

Goro and Niko - these 2 guys have a really cute blog, and they are hilarious!
Ozark Mountain Cats - we're not sure if they participate in memes, but it'll be good reading if they do!
Caroline at William of Mass Destruction - she's a Meezer, so we know she'll have a lot to say!

Thank you, King Punapippuri for picking us - this was fun!  Now, y'all have an Easy Sunday, ok??
