Blog Tour Signup & Google Hangout

Bloggers: if you'd like to participate in the Rock Wedding blog tour, please sign up here!

In other news, I did a Google Hangout this morning (well, morning New Zealand time!). I didn't have a chance to put the link up everywhere as we hit some technical glitches, but here is the video of the hangout.

I tried to choose some questions to answer that I hadn't previously answered, or where I could give an updated answer.

Also, my wifi dropped at one point so the video will cut out. I return at the 6.54 mark. Hope you enjoy watching/listening! If you're reading this on Goodreads and can't see the video, click this link to watch it on Youtube.

p.s. Why do I look so very worried in that captured image? I don't know!

Bastien, Book Rec & Melbourne Signing on Tuesday

I'm so excited that Bastien's novella is out next week!! It was so much fun going to back to the cats with this story - they're so tactile and often so sinfully wicked (or maybe that's just Bastien ;-) ).

Also, I want to give you a heads up that the ebook for Sonali Dev's "A Bollywood Affair" (link to excerpt) has had a bit of a price drop  - I know many of you wanted to try the book when I first recommended it, but felt it was too expensive, so I wanted to let you know. It really is a wonderful book and I absolutely ADORED it. I'm adding the trailer below for you to check out.

Also, if you're in Melbourne, Australia, don't forget I have a book signing there on Tuesday with the awesome Maya Banks! Details:

7pm* November 25th
Dymocks Melbourne
235 Collins Street

See some of you there!! And yes, you'll be able to buy Night Shift on the night!
*If you entered the ARRA Contest and won a special ticket to the Q&A prior to the signing, that starts at 6pm.

Here's Sonali's trailer for her book. :)

Auckland Event Giveaway

Winners: Arielle and Riley. Entered via Facebook. Congratulations!

Kiwis! (Contest alert - read down) A heads up that I'll be doing a chat and signing this Wednesday, November 5th, at 6.30pm at Remuera Library, Auckland. There is a $5 ticket to support the library, but I've been told there'll be nibbles, plus I've organized an awesome door prize, so it should be a great night.   The bookseller will have ARCHANGEL'S SHADOWS there, as well as backlist books!

I'm going to give away two double passes to the event - to enter, just leave a comment (and make sure you can attend on the night if you win). The contest will run across my Facebook page and blog until 7pm Monday, so all the entries will go into one big draw.

The two winners will be announced Monday night at 8.30pm, so please make sure you check back to see if you won. One entry per person. Feel free to share this post with other readers you think might be keen to come.

To RSVP to the event, please phone Hilary Arrowsmith on 520 2532, or email her: hilary.arrowsmithATaucklandcouncil.govt.nz

Full details of the event at this link.

Look forward to seeing some of you in a few days!

Brisbane & Chocolate

Amazing event at Ipswich Library tonight. Thanks to everyone who came and asked such great questions. A special thanks to the awesome staff and booksellers! :-)

My next event for the Brisbane Writers Festval is a Worldbuilding workshop on Friday (which I believe is sold out), but I also have two panels on Sunday, so grab a ticket if you're in Brisbane and come join us!

See the photo above? It's because my Brisbane hotel is next to a CHOCOLATE CAFE & SHOP. Yes, all kinds of chocolate. And macarons. Looking at this photo, you might think I've been very restrained by only buying two (raspberry and chocolate), but you see, I plan to taste test two every few hours. Have to go through all the flavors (including peanut butter!).

I've just sipped the hot chocolate. It's so thick it's like drinking melted chocolate. Nobody contact me - I will be in a chocolate coma for the foreseeable future.

Updates and Morocco: Mosaics

Sorry for disappearing on you everyone! I'm back in NZ now, and getting myself sorted out after the trip - my suitcases have exploded in the living room. I clearly need a put-away-luggage-stuff fairy. =)

Onto the updates:

While on book tour, I promised I'd talk about who the next Psy-Changeling book will be about, in July - I was planning to do it next week, but I think I should be able to put something together tomorrow. It'll just be info about the hero at this stage, not an excerpt for the new book, as I'm in the very early stages of writing it.

Also, the next newsletter will go out July 9th, so if you haven't subscribed, you can do so on the sidebar of the blog, or on the front page of the website (top right). The Welcome newsletter you'll receive automatically once you click the link sent to your email to confirm your subscription, contains the first two short stories I sent out in the newsletter: Poker Night (Psy-Changeling), & Knives and Sheaths (Guild Hunter).

In 2014 news, I'll be attending the RT Convention in New Orleans, May 14th-18th. I will also be at the LoveLetter Convention in Berlin, May 24-25th.

And last but not least, some more photos from the trip! There are some astonishingly beautiful mosaics in the buildings in Morocco. Here are a few photos focusing on mosaics/pottery, all taken with permission.

Two of the artisans in the pottery/mosaic workshop we visited. At this stage, all the pottery is "raw", unglazed.

Specialist artisans chipping pieces of pottery into tiny specific shapes that will eventually be used to form mosaics.

An artist hand-painting one of the pieces of pottery.

A few of the finished painted pottery pieces - some include metallic embellishments.

Examples of finished mosaic work in the showroom attached to the workshop.

Seattle, Germany & Australia/NZ

Posting from a lovely cafe in Seattle, where I'm having lunch. It's near the water, and I've already been for a little walk to admire the view. I'm looking forward to seeing some of you tonight at the signing: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM PDT - UNIVERSITY BOOKSTORE - 4326 University Way NE (Tel: 206-634-3400).

Also, remember, you can still order a signed copy if you can't make it to the store - as long as the order comes in before the event, I can sign it!

~

The German edition of Heart of Obsidian, Geheimnisvolle Berührung, is now out!!

The Australia/New Zealand edition is also now out!

Thanks for being so patient waiting for your releases. I hope you all enjoy the book! And remember, please keep spoiler comments on the Spoiler Thread for the time being. :-)

After Seattle, it's Houston then London

Chicago signing

A fantastic signing at Andersons's Bookshop, Naperville tonight. Thank you to everyone who came and to the wonderful staff!! Thanks also to Jane of Dear Author, who interviewed Nalini on stage. We had a great time!

Nalini signed extra copies of Heart of Obsidian while at the store and they'll ship anywhere within the US, so if you'd like a copy, give them a call (630-355-2665), or contact them through their website.

Tomorrow we'll be in Seattle - see you there!
