This is the last day of the year! All in all it has been a wonderful year for me. I have not been sick and my mancat Mickey still thinks I am the right one for him! Yeah what could be better? Yes, many of you guessed that next month is my birthday. It will be a milestone one as I will be SWEET SIXTEEN!! Maybe I will have a little tea party and we can talk about our lives, hopes and dreams. COLE is coming to spend the night with me! What a great way to start the Mew Year! Then we will be able to see what color his cast is! I do not even know yet myself, thank you for your guesses.

LIFE UNDER THE KITCHEN SINK!!
Sandy paws brought me two bags of treats. I wonder which I should have as a snack tonight? Maybe GREENIES....?

Oh one more thing...my cool grandkid bean COLE, who broke is wrist sledding last week, finally got his permanent cast on today! The first kitty who guesses what color it is wins a prize!!

MONDAY MUSINGS AT THE COZY COTTAGE!
December how cold and snowy you were this year! You have two more days to taunt us, then we will leave you behind...
This was my brother Henry who died on his 3rd birthday of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Mommy did not stop crying over him for weeks. His gray fur was soft as silk.
I am hanging my head in shame a little because I was not always so nice to him and bossed him around a lot!
Today the snow has melted a whole bunch due to a warm wind we call a Chinook...we will spend the day inside the cozy cottage with a tea pot by the fireplace.
Our friends in Wasilla sent us this photo of how cold it is there!

As you can see, I am still sleeping under the kitchen sink. I have 29 cozy beds and this is my spot for now. Mommy shakes her head at me but understands that I am a cat and that is that... I must have been a good girl because Sandy Paws brought me lots of towers of stinky goodness. Wanna come for dinner?

TWAS THE NIGHT AFTER KITTYMAS...
'Twas the night after Christmas, the time to replay The events of that most hectic annual day.The stockings, once hung by the chimney with care,Were chewed on and drooled on and torn past repair.No one was nestled all snug in his bed;There was spilt milk and Friskies to clean up instead.And me in my 'kerchief, and Dad in his cap,Wished we'd settled down for a much-needed nap,When somewhere downstairs there arose such a clatter,I sprang from my chores to see what was the matter.Away down the steps I flew like a flash,Just as I heard one more thunderous crash.The moon wasn't out, so I switched on the light,Still hoping to see everything was all right,When, what for my wondering eyes was in store,But my family-room curtains a-heap on the floor.I re-hung the drapes, but to end all this "fun,"I knew in a moment more work must be done.More rapid than eagles I rushed all around,To make certain everything was safe and sound.Out, tinsel! Out, ribbons! Out bright-colored bow!Out, garland! Out, ivy! Out, all mistletoe!From the poinsettia plant, to the yarn in the hall,It's throw away! Throw away! Throw away all!Next I turned my attention to the Christmas tree,Making sure it was totally temptation-free.I moved ornaments up, for 3 feet or so,And no strand of lights was left dangling low.When then, in a twinkling, I heard soft and sweet,The prancing and pawing of four little feet.As I drew in my head, and was turning around,By the chimney this character came with a bound.He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,And was covered all over with ashes and soot;The ears stood straight up on this bold little elf,And he looked overwhelmingly pleased with himself.His eyes - how they twinkled! He purred like a glutton!His tongue, pink and raspy; his nose, like a button!His droll little tail was drawn up like a bow,And those whiskers of his looked like yesterday's snow.I had not a doubt that this bundle of grayWas the cause of the chaos at our house today.How proudly he strolled, with what grace and what style,As he tracked soot and ashes all over the tile.He was chubby and plump and out to impress,And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of the mess.I scooped up the imp, and I patted his head,But he seemed to sense he had something to dread;I spoke not a word, but went straight for the sink,Where I washed him and dried him, as quick as a wink.Then he darted away and stopped on a stair,And giving a nod, he fell sound asleep there.He dreamt and he kneaded and purred; all the whileI regarded him with half-frown and half-smile.And you'd hear me exclaim, as I cleaned up our flat,"I'll remember the Christmas that we got a cat."

SLEEP MY CHILD...
My grandkid bean Cole is back home again. He could not fly out of Seattle because of tooooo much snow. He is very sad that he has to miss the big family reunion in Florida. Even his bear is sad....
He came to visit me today and we had a tea party. A big long nap was in order to finish off the afternoon....while visions of sugar plums danced in his head.
He was so brave Sunday night before they took him in the operating room. Thank you from the bottom of my tiny heart for all of your well wishes and prayers for Cole.
So today we watched Thomas the Train movies and set up the train tracks...then we watched our favorite Christmas movie, The Tangerine Bear.
I have been reading all of the beautiful Christmas cards you have been sending me. Thank you so much. The pretty one below was made by Billie's mommy Lorianna. Mommy will help me make you all pretty Valentines cards in return.
Sorry we could not post yesterday because our internets was deaded. I hope every kitty will be extra good today because Sandy Paws is coming tonight.

Cole and his family arrived safe in Seattle after a brief window opened up and they were able to get over Snoqualimie Pass! Yeah, so far so good. We pray they are able to fly out today down to sunny Florida. Please keep your paws crossed...I miss him already.

CRASHED UP COLE!
WE INTERUPT CAT ART SUNDAY TO BRING YOU THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE: Oh today is the first day of winter and my grandbean Cole went sledding with his daddy. His sled veered off course and he slammed into a dugout, flew off the sled and broke his wrist while shielding his head. OH NO how is he going to hold me now? He went to the bean vet place by red truck with flashing lights and this evening they operated on his paw and reset the wrist. Cole has been such a trooper through all of this, thanking everyone for their care that helps him. That is why I love him so much becasue he is sweet and considerate of others. The beans spend the evening watching The Bee Movie, Kangaroo Jack and The Goonies. He was able to eat jello and later a turkey sandwich. He finally got to go home at 11:00 pm and we are tired too. It is snowing buckets here...we have 12 inches and more on the way. The pass to the west side of the state is closed and the interstate to Portland also in places... To really complicate my worry factor even more...tomorrow Cole and his mommies family are heading to Seattle to catch a Monday flight to Florida to visit his other grandparents in Coco Beach!! I wish they were not going. His daddy got tickets to the Seahawks~NY Giants football game for tomorrow and they were going to fly up to Seattle as part of his Christmas surprise, then meet his mommy after the game. Not going to happen...we will not even tell Cole about the tickets so he will not feel bad about Daddy's surprise not coming off. Needless to say this could have been a lot worse than a broken wrist and we are very thankful is wasn't. The Hospital said they get at least one sledder in each year from that hill...Cole is more upset that he can not play basketball with his team for the rest of the season. I wish I could have gone to the bean vet place but they do not let cats in there...I think that is a stupid rule! I hope all of you are safe and warm through the winter storms! I hope I have enough stinky goodness to last it out...do I mommy? You better go to the store and stock up!!
