Scammer PSA
SCAMMER PSA: Please watch out for scammers. Always do a search on SteamREP before trusting any offers that are too good to be true. Feel free to add me if you want help learning how to identify any other scammers, or want me to update a part of this.

Just wanna clarify, by SteamREP I'm refering to the trusted 3rd party site, not how many people are saying "+Rep" on their profile.

Trust nobody.

Common Scams:

Please give me suggestions

The Donation scam;
The scammer will have a legit enough looking profile claiming to be duping and exploiting items that he's giving away.
He will request your items in an offer claiming he'll not accept it. sometimes claiming it's a part of a glitch and you need to accept it and anything similar, usually they just make up whatever lie to TAKE YOUR ITEMS AND RUN.
Or the other way I've seen people do this scam;
He claims it's HIS items going to YOU but it's YOUR items going to HIM, Please don't fall for this.

The Raffle "Winner" scam;
You'll be contacted with a steam trade offer claiming you've won something and there is an item in the trade, but the item isn't from their inventory it's from yours, the TRADE OFFER WILL SAY THEY'RE ASKING FOR IT, NOT OFFERING IT. Always check who's giving who what. If you've actually won something for free or are getting a gift, the offer should say "What they're offering" in the text just above the item. Watch out for that one.

The Gambling site scam;
Someone will contact you offering you a job to promote a gambling site, it looks legit with fake players gambling and such, and then says you'll be paid a medium sized amount per week and then asks "Would you like to see how you will be paid?" and then will rig the gamble so that he will win the jackpot, claiming he will do it for you if you promote the site. Then when the time comes, you put in one of your decently-high priced item for the gamble when it's time so he can rig it for you to win, but the site just steals your items and the scammer runs with your stuff.
EVERY STEP OF THIS IS A SCAM.

Phising scam/hack;
This is a scam, even off of steam where it's a fake look a like site that makes you think it's the real site, BUT IT'S A FAKE SITE AND IT ASKS FOR YOUR LOGIN DETAILS, IN WHICH THEY HIJACK YOUR ACCOUNT WITH and steal your items. Always make sure it's the real site, stay safe when logging into new sites.

The Steam "Official" scam;
The scammer will contact you and ask to trade your TF2/CS:GO items, and usually right before you're send a trade or start it they quickly ask "Wait, is your item verified?" and end the trade. Sometimes the scam never even goes into the trade like in the OPSkins scam (See below).
The scammer will then give you the profile of what seems like a steam employee, but they are an IMPERSONATOR OF A REAL STEAM EMPLOYEE. Usually they get you to the real steam page of the actual people, which they will tell you to find the person they are just impersonating. They then put you into a group chat and pretends they don't know the person that contacted you and gave you the "Steam Official"'s page, which is a huge lie. They will try get you to send your items to them in a trade which "won't be accepted" but just "checked" which is just a lie. Don't give them your items if they're not giving you your payment.

The "OPSkins bot" scam;
The scammer will contact you and ask to trade your TF2/CS:GO items, at first this seems normal. Usally these scammers then follow up with some bm about it needing to be marketable on OPSkins (OPSkins are legit them selves) and ask you to list it.
The tell you to put it up on the site but then to cancel it, but in a way that makes you think you sent the request to put it on the site. Usually the bot sends an offer to take your item for no cost, which then is legitimatly put onto you OPSkins account, HOWEVER, these scammers have a FAKE OPSKINS BOT that sends you the request, and when you accept that they run away with your money.
Don't fall for this.

Shark scam;
These people just WAY UNDER VALUE YOUR ITEM and try snatch it from you for a very small amount of ref. If you're new to trading just ask a big trader or ask in a public trading lobby about how the pricing works. Check backpack.tf or any similar sites for item prices.

Common ways to identify a scammer (Please note that not all people that do these are scammers, just use extra caution when trading or anything of the sort with them(Except the SteamREP one);
-Check their SteamREP page, most scammers have a SteamREP ban and all people that have them are scammers, no expections.
-Randomly add you to trade, with you not knowing how they found you.
-Privated backpacks.
-Link to "Their" backpack on backpack.tf, check the steam connect to the link they send.
-Many hours in Dota 2.
-Little to no or even no hours in the games they are trading items for.
-Screenshots of items on their profile instead of a "Owned Items" showcase.
-Broken English.
-General Dumbness.
-Sketchy and ignores most of your questions.
-Wants to look at your items/clean them/whatever they come up with before trading.

Please note I'm not like a profession writer, which should be evident in this text, Please watch out for scammers and suspicious behaviour.
