Description

The Comet 1 is a British 5.3 BR Medium Tank. It has decent acceleration and can reach a top speed of 52 km/h, a pretty good gun, and sub-par armor. These traits allow it to fill the same role as the wonderful M18 Hellcat. Quickly make it to a decent flanking position, use your firepower to obliterate the enemy team, and then once spotted, get deleted. The 77mm cannon fires AP and APDS shells. The APDS is for when you need to go through the front plate of Panthers, and the AP is for when you're flanking and need as much damage as possible. Both of these shells work wonders, and should both be carried. On top of the great firepower, your reload is magnificent. 7.6 seconds stock, 5.9 seconds aced. On top of all that, you have -12 gun depression, so pretty much every position in the game is usable. The Comet's biggest flaw is the fact that is has no reverse gear. If you have to reverse, you're pretty screwed. Also, while your armor should never EVER be relied on, it is actually incredibly trolly after the volumetric shell update. Your turret is pretty decent, with a lot of overlapping bits of armor that will cause numerous shells to non-pen. The hull's armor is basically nothing, but for some reason I found myself bouncing a lot of shells when it is angled. I'm not sure if that's just a lot of luck, or if the hull is fairly trolly as well. Either way, the armor is not good enough to rely on, but you will notice yourself tanking a lot of shells that just don't penetrate. This was a very enjoyable vehicle to play, and I highly recommend it.
