"They should remake this game someday. It kind of needs it.

Add artist powers you retrieve after defeating bosses (Megaman style), oh, and.... BOSSES.

Upscaled using ESRGAN (Upscaled multiple times by X2, animevideov3 AI model)

(And edited gameplay screenshots back in, because the upscaler just made it into smeared nonsense.)

My stupid ideas for a potential MM remake (Ideally this would have been remade back then on the 3DS, but the 3DS is obviously dead at this point, so... Also, the text from this txt file was made in like 2017 lol) -

- 3D Graphics that look about as good as 2, or the remake's, possibly add some 2.5D elements, even if it's just interacting with the background.
- Add Bosses
- Remade soundtrack (probably the worst thing about the original is, the horrendous limitations of the Wonderswan's sound chip)
- Voiceovers, Phantomilian only.
- "Artist Power" abilities you aquire from defeating bosses using the touchscreen (or, maybe just a button press lol).
- Add difficulty options, Easy for 10 health, Normal for 6, Hard for 3. Also maybe make stages easier or harder based on the difficulty?

Power ideas:

Picoo's Moonlight Brush: Can create temporary platforms in certain areas, or maybe even moo blocks

Treffle's Clay: Create a clay clone of Klonoa which you can control seperately, would have to implement new puzzles to make use of this. Probably for weighing down switches and other weird solutions. Could maybe have some puzzles kind of similar to The Talos Principle, the time power puzzles. YOU COULD WALK ON YOURSELF AND TREAT YOUR SHADOW CLONE AS A PLATFORM! Or something...

Koof's Comic (Book): Merge into the walls where there are shadows, kind of like Link Between Worlds, except it's limited to shadows.

Kaho's Camera: Freeze time, which would freeze enemies, hazards, spinning platforms, and even water, so you could Jesus your way across a stream or body of water.

(Possibly include some Metroidvania backtracking elements to previous levels to collect unique collectables using the various abilities, like some new artwork seperate from the illustrations you get by getting all the dream stones.)


Boss ideas:

Picoo: Would appear as a painting/canvas avatar in this world, his attacks include drawing platforms with spikes on one side, that you can jump on to climb up and attack the boss, he would also draw in moos for you to attack him with.

Treffle's Giant Wooden Golem: Would be a platform oriented boss, obviously. Avoid the golem's stompy feet, climb up him, avoid hazards along the way, damage the boss, etc. This boss would definitely make use of both screens, so you can see further up climbing the golem.

Koof: The boss would be held up in a security tower type thing, because it's a prison, he would drop cage's and moo blocks, something something platform up to him while avoiding cages falling on your head and hit the boss with a moo block.

Kaho: Attacks would include taking a picture of the screen, which would freeze Klonoa into a picture, and 2 other similar (fake) pictures would appear side to side, touch the real picture to break free, or take damage.

Museum: Would appear as a dark spooky menacing face, kind of like Nahatomb's second phase. Maybe it would just literally be a rehash of that, but make use of the artist powers, oh and also take away that bar-of-soap platform, because that things annoying.

Ex World Boss??: Shadow/Nightmare Klonoa, because shadow versions of characters totally haven't been done a million times already, but he does indeed appear in the comic, so go for it."
