Description

The Object 279 is a Russian gift tank introduced as the top reward for the Space Race event. It has a battle rating of 8.7, making it the highest BR heavy tank in the game, and for good reason! It has a two-plane stabilized 130mm M-65 cannon, which fires an APHE shell with an astounding 363mm of max penetration. This is the best APHE shell in the game. On top of that, your reload rate is RAPID for a shell of this caliber. With a stock crew, your reload is 11.1 seconds, Aced, only 8.6 seconds. Oh, did I mention it can keep up with Leopards? Yeah, it's mobility is remarkable. Oh, the armor? You don't have to worry about any conventional shell in the game, obviously. But what about HEAT and APDS? Unless these shells hit you perfectly, you'll probably non-pen them. APFSDS? Can still be bounced, rarely, but you can still do it. It has more effective armor than the IS-7 and T-10M, a better gun than both of them, a faster reload rate than both of them... Really I think the only downside is the -5 gun depression, but bad gun depression is a given with like every Soviet vehicle ever, so it really doesn't matter. This thing is a monster. It was absolutely worth grinding for. If you see one of these in your game, kill it quick, cause if you let it roam free, you can say goodbye to your team.
