I always enjoyed the slower building games such as wurm online or life is feudal in the past. So I would consider myself the target audience for this game. However I cannot recommend it. Crafting is the bread and butter in this game but it just doesn't feel snappy. When gathering resources there is no satisfaction in it. The most simple case of this is when you cut down a tree. It just poofs away, no satisfying falling tree or breaking branches.

Refining en production are not much better. Your character does the generic hand rubbing animation close to any crafting station while you as a player look at a rather boring menu where a laggy gold and red bar battle it out to reach the center of the screen.

Staying with the laggy subject. The whole ui seems laggy, even when the game itself is not. be it your stamina bar that is wobbling around certain values (is that floating point deviation?) or the strange disconnect you feel while trying to control any menu in this game.

All in all a great premise, but a poor execution.

The game has aged a little but is still very good. Make sure you got a controller however. Keyboard and mouse controls are not very good.

I gave this game a fair shot in a free weekend. And there is some fun to be had here. But its all hold back by seriously clunky controls and a annoying high amount of 'floatyness' to everything. It ironically feels like your playing a game set underwater while the scenery shows you a desert...

Its odly relaxing and stressfull at the same time. The game still holds up graphically and the story is delightfully strange. The game loop is slow and can be a little repetative. But there is enough QOL to not make it tedious

A fun co-op game. Can give you quite a challenge. Works best with 4 people but there are options available for when your with a smaller group.

Its a fun game for what it is. Instead of hanging really hard in the survival side of things it leans more towards a town builder. You start living inside a twig cope fort and with the summoning of more villagers you slowly develop that out into a village.

The game will throw some difficulty your way in the form of raids from breasts or the undead, alternatively some days the weather is just really bad.

In the end the early access shows as content just runs out. For me that point was about 30 hours in after I fought of a winter invasion and there was nothing new to build anymore. All in all its 15 euro's well spend. I hope they add more to the game in the future.

Look this game is a little weird compared to others. It just feels like a bunch of dudes that found things cool and slapped them into a game. And you can see passion with that. Sure some things are wonky, the ai is clumsy, some ui things are iffy and for some reason my user name gets filtered out by the provanity filter so I'm called ******* all the time. But in the end the game is fun. Its all sorts of cool mismatching weapons slapped on a grown ups version of a cushion fort to shoot down huge robots with big explosions over bombastic over the top music and cinematics.

kind of a steep learning curve to begin with. But its the ultimate zombie sandbox when you get the hang of it.

There are some good things about this game. Like the forest itself looking good and some interesting animations and setup for the atmosphere. However if you play the game for a while you start to notice how hollow the 'mystical' ai is. The enemies are not behaving in there own way, they just have a strange set of rules in there rather static code and keep doing the same 'run away onto a rock' type of thing.

Additionally the ui is clunky, the biggest enemy in this game is not the cannibals living in the Forrest, but the ui locking you in frustrating and unresponsive animations that make no sense. You character is rather breaking apart some sticks and properly folding up his picnic towel then to bother about those 3 cannibals eating his legs.
