I played a bit of this game. it was fine, just kind of bland. you want to like the character and sprite designs but there's just nothing to actually draw you in. the gameplay is a flat circle, everything is proc gen so at first it's neat to explore but you wind up seeing variations on the same theme over and over until you're bored.

then I found out more recently that this game was created with slave labor. when you make people do work, and you don't compensate them, that's called slavery. that's really messed up.

plus there's no gamepad support, even in 2027.

so if you don't already own it, I would avoid it.

Here I will leave this beautiful Capybara, whoever passes by can pet it and give it a thumbs up (I need Steam Points).

smashing buildings and kicking cars as a kaiju, is fun

is it a fun-enough Rampage rip-off? yes, it's a fun-enough Rampage game.

the dev shoves political views down your throat non-stop

BUT the story mode is required to grind out the achievements, and the entire story is this incredibly forceful and direct political action nonsense. climate change is killing the world imminently. billionaires are manipulating public opinion. the only people with guns are cops and rednecks, and the gun stores have big signs that say "no background checks" - and so on.

oh and the person in the story who doesn't agree with the narrative? boiled alive in acid, in front of her child. which is supposed to be funny.

Early Access Review
it's fun, riding your skateboard around and avoid cops while you hand out little baggies

the automation aspect is really clunky and honestly once I automated my trap I basically quit the game because it was so annoying, workers always in my way and so tedious to give them a routine, but they're still working on it and there's a fun core game, I think it's going to keep getting better. hopefully.

imagine portal 2 with none of the character, the humor was terrible, and the gameplay was totally nonexistent.

I got it from a bundle split for less than the price of the cards it drops, so I guess it's OK from that perspective. took me 36 mins to get 100% achievements and complete the game, which it does warn you on the store page how short it is.

packing the game full of jokes about how terrible the game is, doesn't make the game NOT terrible. unfortunately.

I'm not that crazy about it.

Some things I don't love in any game: Corpse runs. Arbitrary content hard level gated in an open world game. Most things un-bound by time, then a few things based on in-game time, then like two things based on real world time but only while the game is running. Hold-A instead of just press to interact with things. Run-speed that's incredibly slow. Auto-run disables as soon as combat.

There's other examples, too. None of them are like the biggest problem, but the core game is actually incredibly shallow, the story/world is incredibly basic, and when you pair that with a bunch of annoying things, I just don't love it.

I got it for a buck or two from a bundle, and from that perspective, maybe might as well, but I would have uninstalled it in the first 2-3 hours, except then I got a cold and needed something mindless to pass the time for a few days. I passed through maybe half of the main storyline content, then got to a point where I died and would need to walk an incredibly far distance (run speed is very slow even with max boosts) and I just, you know, didn't care.

TLDR: it's not the worst game ever, but it's really not special and it really doesn't bring much if anything to the table, other than repetition and mindless click-spam.

what are you waiting for?

777,000+ reviews can't be wrong, it's a fantastic game. I can barely put it down. I killed a level 24 monster as a level 7 Geralt, and I still feel good about that three days later.

it doesn't run amazing on the deck, I'm sure on a high end PC this game looks way better, but it runs smooth enough. I've had it crash on me a few times, but on average probably once every 10 hours of gameplay? not the best, but tolerable and certainly smoother than Witcher 1 or 2.

I don't know why you need me to tell you: go buy it, play it, enjoy

I did read the whole store page. it did sound interesting. So I did buy it.

Turns out, not only does it not run well on Steam Deck,
it doesn't even boot on Steam Deck
.
I'm not saying it's a bad game, but I was planning on playing it on my Deck and that's not an option, so I can't recommend it and even though it feels petty to refund 50 cents, I can't play it and it's getting refunded.

everybody says this game is super good, and I love games like this

my first ever play I got a game breaking bug where it would crash every time I took more than about 5 steps. re-started the game 4 times, walked different directions, kept happening, only about 10min into the game.

finally gave up and started playing a pre-set challenge map instead of a randomly generated one (although I think there are only two pre-set challenges) and it hasn't crashed so far, but it's just...not fun?

the actual gameplay is slow as dirt, 'dealing' cards, the actions of each card, just discarding down a bunch of cards and ending your turn just takes longer than seems reasonable? I love turn based games, I'm not just mad that it's turn based.

I'll keep trying it out, at least play it long enough for the cards to drop, I really want to like this game, but it's just boring and slow and buggy and like why am I even doing this, at a certain point, you know?

I like tile laying games, so this is fairly enjoyable to me. the art style is nice.

it took me about 1.5 hours of casual play to beat the entire story campaign and get about half of the achievements

I was upset at first, but it turns out the "story line" is basically just a long tutorial, more or less. or maybe they want you to read the words, I don't know, but you keep doing free-play and unlocking things after it ends and the credits roll, so no problem.
