Early Access Review
Nice quick gameplay, a nice look, and it's still in development. There's similarities to Neon Chrome, but I guess River City style.

I got this booster for free from a gleam giveaway. It's a good item, and it got me playing this good clicker game, but for $10 it's really not worth it.

Disclaimer: I did get this game for free, from the devs, but the key was provided for during development gameplay feedback and proofreading. Not for reviewing or promotion, and I was never even asked to review this game. I'm doing it because I want to.

Gameplay-wise: it's pretty much what you'd expect. Click dialog options, flirt with girls, go places, etc. It's a visual novel. I have been told by the devs that an 18+ patch will be available, so for the people who like to play these games one-handed, that should be an option too. The production values are really nice and the art looks very well done and professional.

Story-wise: the main story unfolds as you date one of three (or seduce around 5) girls. It's a horror/cop themed game, but the main tone of the game is comedic. Much more HuniePop, tongue-in-cheek style than outright scary or anything. Personally I think the tone is a real highlight, lots of these types of games try to be funny and fall on their faces winding up super cringe. It's campy at times, but in a knowing way and it's never "jfc wtf."

Price-wise: I think for $5 this game is an absolute steal. Before it launched, I even said it should cost more! There are VNs with half the seduce-able girls and much worse art that sell for double the price of this game, so I honestly think it's a home run, if you know what I mean.

I played this game on a free trial weekend on Steam.

I love rouge-likes, and rogue-lites, and all that kind of thing. Those types of games are generally my very favorite games.

I really didn't like Crypt of the Necro Dancer. The rhythm aspect did not gel, for me, and the gameplay was very bland and basic, other than that one element.

It's a very popular and well received game, but if you ask me you should really try a demo first, even if you love the style/genre.

Short, but very sweet. Neat game with lots of neat content, my playtime (4.5h) covers beating the full game twice, unlocking every achievement but one, and getting that one 3/4 done. I probably won't play it more, but I really enjoyed those hours I spent playing Pony Island, and I wish I had voted for it in the Steam Awards.

I got this game as a gift, not from the devs or anything. TLDR: it's cool but broken/unplayable.

I was really excited, because it's a really neat looking game, but also the kind of thing I probably wouldn't buy for myself. The fact that it was a gift gave me extra incentive to actually play it, rather than let it linger in my library.

It's a really cool game.

The production value is good. The sound is really nicely done. The visual effects work really well, so well that I was mad that I couldn't use the Steam screenshot function. The narrative is engaging, the writing is not boring or bad or anything. I enjoyed playing the game and would like to play it more.

So why the negative review?

The game is unplayable.

You start in a room with a guy. You can talk to him. You can go through two empty rooms. You can talk to a second guy in a fourth room. That's it.

After talking to both guys, you have to options: either 1- follow a walk through, step by step, for the rest of the game, or 2- download a random compressed file from some sketchy hosting site.

The "60 page art book (with puzzle guide)" promised on the store page is not included anywhere in the downloaded files, and it is the key to solving every single puzzle in the game. If you check the community forums, someone has posted a link to a random file hosting site, claiming it's the art book, but it's not hosted by the devs on their own site nor has it been uploaded to Valve's servers and updated to the downloadable files.

Figuring out the obscure puzzles is 2/3s of the game's content. Following a walk through on your first play through, you might as well just watch a Youtube play through, then. Downloading who knows what from some sketch site, honestly not a great idea.

Hopefully the devs will add the artbook and fix this problem, and I will be able to turn this into a positive review, but until that happens you should NOT BUY this game, even though it has lots of cool things about it.

This game is flipping fantastic.

The combat is not easy. It's also not difficult for the sake of being *omg so hard*, it's just fairly easy to die when people are swinging swords in your direction is all.

The character creator is not easy. You probably should roll new guys a few times while you get the hang of what works and what doesn't.

Other than that, the game gives you a ton to play with. The main story line is fairly short by design. The balance is that replaying with a different character setup will result in a dramatically different gameplay experience. The first time you play, you might rescue a guy, then help him get to a place, then join up with some other guys and go on an adventure with them. In the next game you might murder the same character from before, and be rebuffed when you try to join the band of soldierboys, instead doing something totally different.

A character based on intellect might find out hidden secrets that a character based on bashing skulls might not even know are out there. The skull basher, on the other hand, will have unique things happen that are totally invisible to the pacifist. (Pacifist playthrough is definitely possible)

The setting is great. The writing is great. The gameplay is great. Take a little time and get into the game, read the dialogs, try different characters, and you will feel the love that the tiny dev team spent years pouring into this game.

HunieCam Studios is somewhat unusual, I would call it an arcade-tycoon game.

Compared to other management games: The game play is a lot like casual management games, almost similar to a clicker game. Drag and drop and click to rush, repeat. The actual economics of it can be a bit tricky, though. Without a solid strategy you could easily flounder and fail and be mocked by the sex fairy. With bad luck in the random elements you can have a much more difficult run.

Compared to HuniePop: the voice acting is the same, but there is much less of it. The humor is the same, but there is much less of it. The dirty bits are pretty much nil, only what you see in the previews on the loading screens.

Would I recommend HunieCam? YES, because it goes on sale for a nice price. It's not a game you should spend $20 on, but for under $4 I enjoy it. It's not demanding, you can play it for a time waster. It's fun to replay and build cam studios around various themes or kinks or fetishes. It's not really great wank bait, but for a few bucks it's a nice little game.

This is really the top of HArvest Moon type games, not just on PC, but in general.
