Would I recommend it? Yes. Should you buy it right now? That depends but do be warned that it's in a pretty early state.

What I love about this game is the consistency of Space. So many games set in space just use it as a backdrop to play out the same mechanics as a game based on a planet. It's more of switching the ocean to black with dots and pretending it's a space game now. Predestination does not do that, it's a game that happens in space and that's pretty fantastic.

The truth is I have a hard time playing it because I like everything it does so much I just want it to be finished so I can sink a boatload of hours into it.

Decent enough indie horror walking sim game. If you own it from a bundle or something, I would say install it, it's only 500MB and it's worth trying out. For US$9, I wouldn't buy it.

The check point save system really hurts the game though. Replaying the same spoooooky room a second time is just predictable and boring, which is the antithesis of horror or scary. The map also doesn't have any indicators or anything so if you get lost it can get frustrating. I probably won't finish it, but I didn't mind checking it out while some cards fell into my lap.

It's super linear with no sandbox or anything that I could find, so the replay is lower than normal for these types of games. The story is also pretty much nothing, there's a bad guy and you kill him that's it really. It's also not super long, I beat it in 4.5 hours, you could probably do it even quicker if you tried.

Having said that, I got this for about a buck with a 75% off coupon, and for that price it's a really smooth little HoMM3-esque flash-type game. If you like moving mans around combat hexes, pick it up cheap and give it a spin. After I sold the cards I think this only cost about 50cent so honestly really easy to recommend at that price point.

This game is fantastic, whatever you can think of to try with your characters will work within the rules system, you can set up ambushes or manipulate your way through things. It's a really super. I had 60 hours just goofing around with what I could get away with and the character creator while it was still in Early Access and now I have twice that.

The DLC is nothing you need to spend money on, and while the co-op is well done, I think it's more fun controlling your own party. Plus it's a long game so make sure your co-op partner is up for that. A+ though, would recommend, it's a real gem and one of the very best not just Kickstarter games but games of 2014 period.

If you want a CivV-like-in-Space, please go buy Endless Legend.

Beyond Earth, from everything I've read and confirmed this free weekend, is not ready for prime time and honestly not more than a CivV expansion that costs full new game price for some dumb reason. Personally, having owned every Civ game, I'm sure I'll buy it after a few expansions come out but jeez it's rough and I'm not in a rush.

For $5 you really should pick this up!

"Early access" is misleading, it's an upgrade-in-progress to a finished game, and everything about it is fantastically done. this is not at all a low-effort poorly done throwback that will linger in early access dev hell forever, it's a polished and apparently ridiculously big (it took me ~an hour to get to level 7 on my first play, level cap is 300 or above)

My only complaint is that Steam overlay doesn't work yet, and I keep wanting to take screenshots

To be honest I wasn't really paying attention to this game for the longest time. The setting is a "woke up post apocalypse in a world gone to ♥♥♥♥ w no idea how it got that way," in a real Fallout-esque type of game, but then it plays out a lot closer to Long Live the Queen or something. It's pretty different and honestly super engrossing and fantastic.

Installed it on a free weekend and got bored and uninstalled it in less than 2hrs. 3 was less boring and more fun.

"match 3 with town building" which is thoroughly unimpressive and bland

I guess try it if you don't feel like playing any of the other match 3's you got in bundles or wherever they come from
