Do you want a game that the developer's don't believe in? I emailed them personally to voice my concern with the project as it headed to Steam after the kickstarter. In fact I said I wasn't very impressed and wasn't interested in a Steam key as much as a refund. Their response was "well we don't have to give you a refund so here's your key and if you don't like it too bad."

I'm not arguing that they did anything wrong, legally. But it's not what you do when you have a product you believe in. It's what you do when you know you are selling a steaming pile of ♥♥♥♥ and don't want to let one possible dollar slide out of your tight fist.

Don't buy this game. Even the people who make it know you shouldn't.

The most popular thread in the forum is the sticky about closing all other programs to try to get Dead Linger to run a little better, because it is so, so bad. Run, don't walk, to Project Zomboid or 7 Days to Die instead.

Serious Sam + magic + roguelike + FPS = a really solid game I don't hesitate to recommend to anyone who is mildly interested.

It's just tangrams with tetris blocks, not really that great. It's on Playfire at the moment, tho, so I guess get that free change.

edit: I don't really "recommend" this game but it's not like I would say avoid it, either, it's just kind of boring

Edit: they've patched the game a lot since I wrote this and I don't know if its more fun now than it was on launch

As a Kickstarter backer I got this game for $15, but if I had paid $40 for it I probably wouldn't be happy at all.

The whole way the game interacts with you is ripped out of 1987 in the worst ways.
There's no fast travel, you watch your party walk for ages, because that's the only way out of the labaryth maps, walking back to the entrance, slowly. And there is plenty of mandatory back tracking.
The combat is boring, and the RNG makes it an annoying chore, but most of the time you can't avoid it. Put points into outdoorsman and flee every random encounter.
There's no cool stuff like reverse pick pocketing a land mine into someone's back pocket, or shooting their legs off so they can't flee. Just aim, and miss or get jam or whatever.
The character creator is super unintuitive and weird and kind of horrible. INT doesn't help with "wisdom skills," charisma has nothing to do with your ability to influence people in dialog, and strength has no bearing on your ability to break down a chain link gate. Why not? Because!
There is an over-world, but don't think that it's open, you need to follow the linear plot.
There is lots to see, but the game moves ridiculously slowly, ie level 5 and done with the first dungeon in ~12 hours.

The story is really decent and the game delivers a lot of it's "old school" promise, but honestly most of that is the bad things from the old days that should have been forgotten. For $40 I wouldn't buy it, and after my $15 I'm not sure if I will have the patience to finish it, even though I like the story.

UPDATE: The price is currently ~6 $/€/£, STILL NOT WORTH IT, long story short there's nothing here worth buying


This game is broken and it always has been, and now Double Fine have announced that they aren't even going to bother finishing it. Don't buy this game, it is not fun and there is nothing to do. Personally, I've requested a refund because it's completely unacceptable.

edit: they've since bribed everyone who bought it in EA with a copy of another one of their half baked games and slapped a discount on this one,so let me tell you: not worth $25 or $25 or $15, I got it for $5 and didn't get my money's worth.

EDIT: I loaded up the 1.0 (aka Not Early Access) version and it's honestly not any better, don't buy this game

Let's be clear: this game doesn't have 96% negative Steam reviews because its in Early Access or because people are impatient or because its ironically great. It runs terribly and there is nothing to do. I'm glad I got this as a gift because this game is not a good purchase even for a buck.

Broforce is not the most complicated game out there, but it is rediculously fun and hard to put down.

Tango Fiesta is fantastically fun in its early state. The devlopers are doing updates to the game every 7 days, constantly adding more characters, maps, weapons and abilities.

The game is clearly in a fairly early state and it has some bugs, but there is lots to play with and its a great time co-op. I split a 4pack on sale and I would 100% recommend the game in its current state at that price. If it looks fun to you, pull the trigger!

Freaking Meatbags is a game about enslaving a cast of humans and dragging them around the galaxy to force them to work for you while you strip planets of the resources as quickly as possible before moving on. It's like Be The Biggest ♥♥♥♥ Ever, but it's also pretty great.

You send your "crew" off to gather resources and build defenses for your camp to protect your resource horde and command module, then between missions you can augment your crew by implanting mind controlling parasites or gene splicing them with other species to make the Super Slave of the future, and then replace their central nervous system with a remote control system.
