A triumph of visual design and environmental story telling, but not a triumph in being fun to play for longer than an hour.

If you want a great example in visual storytelling, this is a game you should study. The lore is spread throughout the world, and tells a grand tale of divinity, power, failure, and the quest for Truth.

Unfortunately, the gameplay loop is not as grand. You run around a lot, you get lost and backtrack and get lost some more, you start to wonder if you missed something or the game bugged. None of those happened. The game is just not a very good game from a gameplay perspective. Its a very good art piece for the medium, but theres probably more fun things to do than running around with nothing happened and wondering which cardinal direction you just came from.

I havent even got to the actual gameplay part that isnt getting lost. The boss fights are very unique, visually distinct, the visual story telling is very on point. But again, the game is not very good at game-ing. Every boss fight can be won within 5 seconds or less of starting them. The only price is the amount of time it would take you to figure them out by trial and error, assuming you dont look at a guide going in. Its just not that fun. Its a game thats not fun to play. Its more fun to read the lore guides explaining the visual story telling.

And for my personal issue: you never get stronger. The more you play the more you realize this is like a godly realm, these Titans are basically mortals that became Titans, or just straight up gods that changed their name legally to Titan. And you kill them all with your stupid boomerang arrow. You are One Arrow Man. You literally eat their soul.

And what do you get for killing and eating godly entity after godly entity? Literally the same soul absorption cinematic, bar the final boss fight. There is no reward for dying 50 times in an hour for hard boss. No visual treat, no gameplay treat. I kept thinking i would at least get a bigger arrow or something after defeating Enhalan. Nope. You get ♥♥♥♥ because this isnt a game, it is an art project. And its a very good art project dont get me wrong,

If i ever make a game myself, I will study the visuals and elements in this game, but Id never make it as unrewarding an experience.

A trio of timeless classics, with an elephantic dose of nostalgia.

The port is as good as it can be in my opinion, there are bugs but I didnt encounter anything run breaking personally. Last stand 1 & 2 can be replayed numerous times so even if you get a bug there its really not a big deal, and for the record i never ran into many.

LS Union city is a GREAT babies first survival horror that does so many things right its hard to believe this came out on a browser in 2011. From start to finish, I felt like I was constantly on borrowed time to find my partner (the main plot) and get the hell out before I run out of food, and the difficulty had a very steady curve that doesnt let you get bored.

All the games are made full of love and it shows through the many small details included, as a fan of the series I think Union City really is a love letter to us who grew up on LS 1 & 2, expanding the lore and intrigue of such a simple yet endlessly interesting small games.

I am legitimately losing sleep over playing this game and wanting to play more the second I log out.

I just finished the DLC. Yes it has its flaws, however most are addressed in the most recent Aug 14 balance patch, mainly the durability of the mining blocks being brought down to reasonable levels, enemy HP reduced and fixing the chemical weapon to actually be useable.

I really hope for more, I cant get enough of this gameplay loop and actually interested plot you guys have weaved. Looking forward to more Wall World DLC or sequel!

It was worth the playthrough, but had I bought this on release or for anything more than 3 euros I would feel scammed.

Its by all means a bearable game, passable graphics, enjoyable voice acting, cool animations, simplistic combat, the climbing while everything around you falls apart is really this games best quality, but the story unfortunately is its worst.

Thumbs down only because the story is so poorly told after the first couple chapters that it leaves you scratching your head wondering how someone read the script and gave it the go ahead - whats especially ridiculous is the fact that the devs were expecting this to sell well enough to make a sequel a brainless choice, which obviously didnt happen, and for good reason. It is painfully obvious that they ran out of budget, time, or both, but had to release *something*.

TLDR: Almost everything about it is mediocre, and the story will disappoint you if you are expecting anything more than an excuse for stuff to happen.

it feels polished and promising at first, but you quickly realize there is nothing more to see after an hour or two, both in gameplay, progression and story
also the inventory needs so much management it quickly drains you, get on sale or not at all, preferably the latter

It starts with a very interesting premise - that I choose not to spoil. However, the actual gameplay didnt exactly hook me and I felt "baited" by the game tags. This isvery much a stealth game. The game gives you tools to avoid enemies, sneak past enemies and generally avoid combat as you die in one hit (at least thats how much i lasted before i uninstalled, one death after one hit). Unless you are into stealth games (which im not) and games where you are left to fend for yourself, this might interest you. I would refund if I didnt get it from humble bundle.
