Too much like real soccer, which is terribly dull and boring.
I guess that's why it's so common to fake injury in that sport, to wake up the sleeping audience with a bit of entertainment.

Terrible and useless.

The only moments anyone will see it is in the short match preparation, and since your armor colors won't change, your weapon will no longer match with the rest of your character.
In the match the only person really seeing it will be you, yourself, and all you will see is the poor quality of these skins - they look nothing like on the screenshots.

Great concept but terrible controls, terrible lag/desync problems, terrible graphics and overall terrible imprelentation.

UPDATE:
I would like to share my personal take on the pros and ♥♥♥♥ of this game to help people decide on whether to buy this game or not, because the game gets torn apart by many players and independent reviewers, while praised by game magazines.

The reason is simple: the pricing of things in this game is controversial.

Some do not mind the 8 bucks per new character because they will simply just pick few of them and stick to them anyway.
Others will hate it because they want 100% of the game content for a reasonable, worry-free one-time price.
And game magazines probably don't even care at all.


Apart from the money debate, here is what you should consider:


+ NOT pay2win
+ a unique experience, especially when you enjoy less mainstream and more innovative game designs
+ really solid, really great looking, sounding and feeling game
+ keeps getting updated, patched and rebalanced


- expensive base game unless you get it on a discount
- poor customization
- a lot of the cosmetic cash shop items are pointless, plain bad
- cash shop characters are not OP, but still feel like a cash-grab if you want more than just a few of them, due to pricing


= Bottom Line: Do your research where you want to get the game from and once you tried it you will know whether you really want to spend money on it, how much, and which characters you really want to get.

So far this game has been a lot of unique fun.
I can only it suffers from the same balancing issues at high levels as most other PVP games, but so far, especially since the discount, I feel it was worth my money already.

It reminds me of why I originally got into gaming. To explore worlds full of possibilities, not to play one copy of the same game after another, no matter how good the original idea is. Fantasy MMORPGs, 1st Person Shooters, Diablo clones - search the web and you find literally HUNDREDS of games that all look, sound and feel pretty much the same.
I am happy EVOLVE dared to do something new and different and gives people the chance to break out of the commercialized cookie-cutter gaming hole.

And to be honest, to play something unique you normally have to resort to low production value indie games.
This game looks and feels stunning! I would say in terms of cinema-moments it can compete with Planetside 2.

Terrible ripoff game with huge input lag. Makes playing it impossible.

This mod is a major failure.
Besides the incredibly bugged UI there is also the incredibly stupid combat which mainly consists of ranged attacks and running around and swing spamming. The tiny amount of players on the few servers speaks for itself.

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare did it right, you succeed with skill and any type of spam or running was punished with drawbacks, just like in reality. If you like tactical skill-based combat, go for Medieval Warfare.
If you rather sit in front of the screen, mindlessly spamming 2 keys for hours, get Deadliest Warrior.

Combat is full of exploitable bugs and the lack of balance makes some builds useless and other builds OP.

Customization makes little to no difference and the stats on items contradict the descriptions.

The community is full of teamkillers, traitors and other types of jerks and trolls.
