In short – is this game worth buying?
Absolutely! For the sheer amount of content and the general price-to-content ratio. I bought the GOTY edition for around $8, and it’s worth every cent. Even at the full price of $30, there’s enough content to justify the purchase.

Is it a good game?
Well… there’s a good game hidden away in it, but it’s easy to lose yourself in the chaos that this game is.

Fallout 4 feels like five different games mashed into one. That’s not necessarily a bad thing — it’s an ambitious project — but I don’t think it’s handled very well. It’s a sandbox open-world action RPG you can play in FPS or TPS perspective, and it’s also a post-apocalyptic survival game with elements of settlement management, base building, and even tower defense. But if you want to play a good RPG, there are far better options on the market, even within the Fallout franchise. If you want a solid FPS/TPS, this isn’t the best either. Same goes for the survival aspect. The management/building part is actually my favorite — I don’t know if it’s the best game of that type, but it’s good and very addictive.

Although the idea of combining different mechanics into one complex game is solid, Bethesda (read: Todd Howard) crammed too many components into it. They could’ve made one great FPS/TPS action RPG in the style of previous Fallout games, and a separate spin-off — an open-world survival/management game.
And why is it better to make two games instead of one?
Because when you go for quantity, you sacrifice quality — and in this case, also stability and playability.

The most important thing for me in an RPG, besides the story and mechanics, is the character leveling system — and how it applies to your progress and battles. Fallout 4 (besides Fallout 76) has the most simplistic, streamlined, and downgraded leveling system in the franchise. Every time you level up, you get one point — invest it in a SPECIAL attribute or perk, and that’s it. So unfulfilling and unsatisfying. In previous titles, you could balance attributes, skills, perks, and traits — with a finite number of points that made your character just powerful enough to get through the game, but not some OP god coasting through with zero effort.

That’s the thing with combat — depending on difficulty and your skill, the game starts off kind of challenging, and later becomes an effortless, tedious slog. Enemies, like in all Bethesda games, scale to your level. But instead of combat getting smarter or more strategic, enemies just get more hit points. So one raider can take 50 headshots with a sniper rifle — right in the center of the eye — and still function like nothing happened. Sometimes, you’ll burn through thousands of rounds in a single encounter on higher difficulties.

So, what’s the problem — and is there a way to fix it?
The biggest problem is the head of Bethesda — the “creative force” behind modern Fallout — Todd Howard, the Megalomaniac. His way of thinking is absolutely reflected in this game. The same way he mashed every genre into one title, you can be everything and do everything in one loooooooooooooong playthrough. No need for a second. You probably won’t even finish the first because you’ll get bored, overwhelmed, or just lost in the sea of content.

I finished the game at level ~90, but you can go way beyond that. There are enough perks to choose up to level 286, and you can go even higher — become Todd the God.

And what could be a solution to this mess?
Make a shorter game. Go for quality, not quantity. Pick a path and close off the others — not at the end of the game, but from the beginning. Make a game where choices actually matter, where your decisions shape the world and your experience. Make a game you’ll want to play again — and have a different journey the second, third, fourth time.
Finite resources. Finite XP. No more level scaling. No more radiant filler quests.
Make battles strategically challenging. Make enemies smart and deadly — not bullet-sponge immortals. Give us a complex but rewarding leveling system that makes every point count.

STORY is decent, but not the best in the Fallout universe. In my personal opinion, Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas are much better — both in terms of story and overall RPG quality. This one is more like Fallout 3, but with more content. Fallout 76 still takes the crown as the worst on my list — in every aspect.

The lore is rich. There’s a LOT to read and listen to, but the quality ranges from brilliant to downright stupid and nonsensical. Same goes for dialogue and decisions. There are great storylines and quests — but I feel like more than 50% of the writing is just filler.

VISUALLY, the game is also a mixed bag — but overall, one of the better aspects. Sometimes I’m amazed by the beauty and the sheer amount of work that went into it. Other times, it feels like they missed the tone and atmosphere Fallout is known for.

One thing I really liked is the asset design — enemies, weapons, armors, clothing, clutter, etc. I know many fans would disagree, but to me, the concept art, design, and 3D renders of the Super Mutants are the best in the series. Same goes for the Deathclaws — they look better than ever. Even the Ghouls look and animate great. In general, most enemies look awesome.

Human NPCs? Not so much. Some are okay, but many look like dirty, uncanny half-caricatures.
Weapons, though? Amazing. Great variety and design. Same for armor and clothing.
Customization might be one of the best in gaming history — especially with mods.
The scenery ranges from jaw-dropping to overly cluttered or too colorful — not always fitting the post-apocalyptic tone.

GAMEPLAY — already covered most of it. It's a confusing mess, but very addictive. For me, the loop was always the same:
Leave the settlement → explore → collect → find new locations → do a few quests → get overloaded → go back → build → upgrade gear → cook → repeat.
Leveling is underwhelming, but you still have to plan your build early, especially on higher difficulties or in survival mode.

MODS – Absolutely essential!
I wouldn’t even touch this game without mods (same goes for any Bethesda game). It’s not easy — it takes time, some knowledge, and carries risks. If you don’t know what you're doing, you can break the game easily. But if you do it right, you can shape the game into something you want to play. Focus on the parts you enjoy and make them near-perfect. Make it more stable, smoother, better looking, more focused — whatever you want.
There are around 70,000 mods online.
Do yourself a favor — learn the basics, watch a few tutorials, and experience the best version of this game.

After a few hours of gameplay I wanted to give this game a positive review, but that opinion changed by the end.
The art direction is 10/10 for me. I love that comic-book illustration style. The illustrator is the only person in this team that did high quality work. But unfortunately, this isn't a comic-book, it's a game, and not a good one.
This is maybe one of the worst grinds that I endured in my life, Absolutely mind-numbing, stupid, pointless, repetitive trash of a gameplay. For me, it went from "oh, this is kinda nice" to "I'm bored" to "I absolutely HATE this stupid game".
Fighting is going from one group of enemies, to another, repeating the same combos, pressing the same buttons, doing the same thing, over and over again. No challenge, no strategy, no tactics whatsoever. After some time if felt like a clicker game, a button pressing simulator, and not an "RPG" or whatever it is supposed to be. The funny thing is, that after all of that grind and pointless fighting, I still didn't want to give this a negative review, just because of the quality of the art and fact that it was given for free. But then, I got to the worst aspect of the game - crafting.
The crafting is 100% pointless. You will never use the crafted weapons, and by the time you get the ingredients you already have a more powerful weapon/item that was dropped by the enemy. You can sell that item, for a hefty amount of gold, but I don't even want to talk about economy and prices in game.
Anyway, you can get ingredients for crafting as drops from enemies. The drop rate is extremely low for those items, one of the worst that I have ever seen, worse than low drop rates in WoW style MMOs. What is the purpose of it?! To inflate the time spent in game? To make up for the lack of content? To infuriate the players? I don't get it.
There is 16 levels of recipes for crafting. I did 15. Just one recipe left. Two items needed. After a few hours of of grind I found the first one, but then I started farming the second one - Ring Of Gzimeroidas Perpaxses Anamenorpidus. After a 3-4 hours of grinding, fighting a same fight, pressing the same buttons over and over, doing the same combos, I decided to save-scum for the item. I followed a guide and spent another 5+ hours quitting and loading. I wasn’t even playing the game at that point. Worse than gambling. I’ve spent more time grinding for this item than I did playing the entire campaign. Right now, I’ve been farming for 8+ hours and still no drop for that one particular item.
Whoever decided to put a 0.001% drop rate on that item shouldn’t be working in the video game industry. Even WoW got rid of that kind of stupidity. To me, it’s a scam—microtransaction-level scam. Here's an idea for the developer: instead of artificially inflating my playtime by adding an insanely low drop rate for one item, maybe design a very challenging and interesting strategic battle and reward a rare item that way. Or maybe a puzzle. You know—content, game design.
I never finished the last boss, just stopped "playing"..

I disliked almost every aspect of this game. For me, it totally defeats the purpose of a puzzle game - solving the puzzle should be a calming, meditative, almost Zen-like experience and when you finish the puzzle you end up with a nice picture. But this game is the opposite - it's a stressful, frustrating experience and you end up with a low-quality digital drawing.

Visually, this game is ugly and it looks dirty, but not in a good way. Intro is annoying, ear-piercing scream that you can't skip. Then you see the horribly designed menu that was put together by someone who doesn't know a thing about design or have any level of aesthetic sensibility. The images are not necessarily bad, but are low-quality, kinda amateurish with maybe one or two decent ones. Personally, I didn't like any of the images, they look like they were drawn by someone who knows how to draw, but still learning the basics.

The gameplay, on the other hand, was even worse for me. As I said, the concept was flawed form the begging, but the execution made it even more tedious. Imagine that you bought the puzzle, but when you get home and try to put it together, there is a person behind you yelling at you to hurry up and whenever you want to pick up the puzzle piece from the box he shakes the box and mixes all the pieces - would that be enjoyable? The puzzle pieces are moving, and every time you want to pick up the piece that you need, you will pick the one beside it, and that can happen 10 times in a row. Also, pieces have a very unusual shape that just complicates things even more. And you need to put this buggy puzzle together while hoards of zombies is attacking you. The gameplay was not hard or challenging for me, just boring, repetitive and tedious.

In short - two bad games mixed into one. Low quality puzzle game with the most basic top-down zombie shooter tacked on... like oil and water.
The developers should invest in good designer to design the UI and assets, and a professional illustrator who would paint the images. The cost of production will be higher, but they would end up with an infinitely better product that they could sell for more money, instead of this cheap shovelware.

The best thing about this game is that it is short - you can finish it in 4-7 hours, everything else is bad or in best case mediocre.
Graphics are ok for the isometric RPG from 2014. The 3D models are decent, but there is something wrong with the contrast, the shadows are too strong and black so you can't see the details. Also, it is very hard to see the loot, there are green particles signaling where the loot is, but since everything else on the map is green it is very hard to see it... such an odd design decision. Luckily there is an UI button for picking up the loot. There are just a few locations and almost no variety between the maps - basically island/jungle, cave and village, and there is a lot of back-tracking and visiting the previous locations that you cleared, now with new enemies.
The story is supposed to be funny, but it wasn't my type of humor. It is like a parody of the RPG genre with all the cliches that you could think of. Very infantile for my taste. The protagonist is a very unlikable douche-bag character (on purpose) and almost all the female characters are portrayed as dumb bimbo cheerleaders with maybe a one or two exceptions.
The music was probably the worst thing for me - it's just some random "tropical" loop that I tuned off after one hour and I played with custom music from my collection. There are no English voice-overs available, only German language is supported. But you can read English subtitles.
The gameplay is bare-bones turn based tactical RPG. You have three characters to play with - the protagonist and two ladies. You get xp from battles and invest point on skill after every level-up. The skills are very basic and boring, with little variety and customization options. You also get some items that you can put on your characters, only 4 slots per character - weapon, armor and two accessories. I played on normal and it was very easy after I understood the system. The only thing you need to do on every turn is to attack from the back for bonus damage and that's it, no dept, no strategy, no tactics. The last few battles were kinda challenging, but I was so OP at the end that I finished it in first try.
This game is overpriced for what it is, you can certainly find a better CRPG in the same price range. This is a spin-off game from the Grotesque Tactics franchise which I never played before, so maybe this can be fun for the fans of that franchise.

There are a lot of reviews here recommending this as a genuinely good game, but I am recommending it as the best worst game that you need to try. The same way that I would recommend you to watch The Room or Neil Breen movie, it is so bad that is actually very fun and entertaining.
Before it came out, this game was advertised as the "Oblivion Killer", the game that will put Oblivion to shame in every way. Having spent hundreds of hours in Oblivion I had to try it.... and it was a disaster. Before the first patch it was so bugged that you could finish the game in 5 minutes. The crafting system was so broken that you could mix traps with herbs/potions/crystals and get permanent effect of +9864964384 points of strength, and so on. Regardless, I played it for weeks, but eventually I got bored and gave up. And now, 12 years later I gave it another chance and I finally finished it.
It is hard not to compare it to Oblivion, because of how they advertised it and it's the same genre of game and it came 3 years after Oblivion (and 2.5 years before Skyrim, yikes!). I'm not saying that Oblivion is a perfect game, but it is a piece of art compared to this.
The story is boring cliche written by someone who doesn't know a thing about basic writing. There is not one interesting or creative quest, I've seen MMOs with quests that are more interesting. The voice acting is abysmal and cheesy, but funny in a way. Character animations are janky and stiff, but not the worst. Character design is one of the worst things in the game. There is maybe 10-15 variants of NPCs and they look so bad. The anatomy is all wrong and the quality is very low. You can see the same man/woman in every town or village, and sometimes there is 10-20 of them, just with the different name. The first village that you visit is 100% male populated, not one woman, pure sausage factory. The next village is also like that. The first time I saw a woman was in the first city I visited, and it was the same model copy-pasted 50 times with maybe few color variations. Later you will find that there is another female model and it is old fat woman and that's it. The map is empty and it looks like it's generated by an A.I. algorithm. There is no need for exploring the map, because there is nothing outside the points of interest, literally nothing, not even a chest, it is EMPTY. The only thing you can find between two points of interest is the group of beasts that will attack you, in the beginning, it is 4 wolves or one bear and later Wyverns and so on. Some of the enemy creatures were great in concept and had kinda fresh and creative design, but in-game models are low quality with bad animation. The weapon and armor design is decent, nothing special or new, but it served the purpose, it's one of the few good things that this game have, but if you compare it to Oblivion's assets it's very generic and bland. There are no unique weapons/armors or artifacts, that are, for me, the highlight of every RPG game.
Gameplay is pure button-smashing for the warriors and kiting for the archers and mages. Also, it is terribly balanced since the begging, first you are too weak and every fight is long and tedious and after 15-20 level-ups, you become so OP that nothing will be a challenge until the end of the game. Leveling is ok, there is a lot of skills to upgrade, but since the game is not balanced at all there is no good or bad build, just pick a skill tree and stick with it, or don't, it doesn't matter (maybe a little in the beginning).
The ending was laughably bad and anticlimactic. There are two options for the last fight depending on the final dialog between you and the last boss. Both fights are super easy. Then you see a 10-15 seconds ending video and CUT, you are back at the menu screen.
The good thing is that this game was very stable for me. It crashed only 2-3 times in 75+ hours of gameplay. And I haven't encountered not even one game-breaking bug. I don't believe I encountered any bug at all, quest related or otherwise, which is a HUGE achievement if you compare it to broken mess that Oblivion can be without the mods and unofficial patches.
I can't say that this game is garbage in 2021, because Steam is redefining the word "garbage" with it's lack of quality control. There are literally tens of thousands of garbage unplayable scams on this platform and Two Worlds is not one of those. It is just funny and stupid, bland, uninspired, generic, empty, repetitive but fascinating low quality action RPG game. I spent 75+ hours playing it, it was fun for a while, then I got bored and rushed to the finish line.
The price is ok, but you can find it even cheaper on other sites. I've seen people selling it for 1$. I got it for free on a giveaway site.

SINGLEPLAYER :
GAMEPLAY - A challenging team-based (sometimes solo) tactic strategy game with no RPG elements. There is 42 missions in total and each one expands on game mechanic and presents a new type of challenge. Each team member can carry up to a two types of weapons and two utility tools. Combining the equipped weapon and tool gives you a special unique ability which means that you can have up to 4 different special powers depending on your equipment. To use the special power you need moral points that you get by shooting enemies, healing and saving people, and you lose moral for friendly fire and shooting innocent people. The basic gameplay is classic tactic strategy game, with careful planning, shooting and covering, and can be challenging at times, but there is a puzzle-like element where you need to deduce what is the best weapon/tool/special power for that level. Some weapons that helped you a lot in a previous level can be totally useless in the next one. There is no difficulty setting, but if you fail a few times there is an option to play on easy mode which makes your characters basically invincible, but you don't get achievement for finishing the level on easy mode. The only thing that I disliked was the checkpoints that are usually after the battle, so you loot, make a plan, enter the next battle, and if you die you need to do all the looting and positioning again. And strangely, at some instances, the checkpoint is at the start of the battle which means that if you are not prepared you can't win that battle and you need to play the whole mission from the start. Save game would be the better option imho. I managed to finish the majority of missions in first try, but there was a 2-3 of them that were very tedious and nightmarish.
GRAPHICS - This is the highlight of the game for me. I love isometric view and and sci-fi aesthetic. It is heavily inspired by old-school science fiction movies and TV shows like Flash Gordon and Star Trek. All of the maps and assets are hand-painted and not 3d rendered. The portraits are also high quality retro paintings. Sprites are very detailed with some decent but not the best animation. I didn't like the cutscenes at all, they slapped pixelated filter on top of the animation which made it look kinda cheap and out of place. They probably animated the existing assets that were not made for extreme zooms so they masked the low quality with the filter.
STORY - It is a classic mystery sci-fi story with a few twists and turns. Serviceable, but nothing mind-blowing. There are no RPG choices, you just read the dialogues and follow the story. The humor was sometimes ok and sometimes cringe. There is a lot of diaries/logs/computers that you can read and very few of those texts contained some backstory or world-building/backgrounds, it was usually just some fillers and unimportant sci-fi nonsense. I loved how the story flowed between the missions, changing from one group to another, looking at the same situation but with a different perspective, it really felt like playing the episode of a TV show. The ending was really strange and abrupt - the ending cutscene was 5 seconds long and then credits. The final twist is understandable, but unsatisfying for me.
SOUND - The sound effects are great, all the weapons sounds are perfect, very retro. The music is just one track over and over again, I usually played without the music with some random sci-fi soundtrack in the background. There are no voice-overs for the characters, all the dialogues are silent. The only voice-over that you can hear is during the tutorial level and there is a lot of mispronounced english words.
Overall a great experience all together, fun and challenging, definitely not for everyone.

P.S. There is a lot of negative reviews coming from people who bought this game as a multiplayer game, but the devs or publisher decided to change the main game to singleplayer and sell the multiplayer mode as a DLC. Very strange decision from their part, especially when the multiplayer is dying. They should've sell a singleplayer mode as a DLC and leave the multiplayer alone. I can understand the anger of the people, but I really liked the singleplayer game.

This is a mobile pay-to-win clicker pretending to be a card/deckbuilding strategy game. The structure of the game is copy/paste template the most mobile clickers use, the only difference is the design and the battle mechanic.
- At first the game gives you impression that it depends on complex strategy, but few hours into it I realized that it is unbalanced p2w mess. There is no balance basically, just buy the best cards, put them in your deck and start spamming them as soon as the fight starts. There is no limit of how many Mythic/Legendary/Rare cards can you have in active deck. There are certain matches that are impossible to win with any strategy, unless you start paying. So, it's not a game for the brain, it's a game for the wallet. The only interesting thing about the mechanics is the card combining system, but it is not enough to hold the whole game.
- Design reeks of low effort - basically screenshots from the show cropped to fit the cards, instead of designing the cards and overall assets for the game. The illustrations are great because those shows are great. The only thing that I liked visually are the illustrations for the campaign levels, which are fresh assets made for the game.
- Prices in game are ridicules. One month of premium cost as much as a premium for some AAA game that is popular right now. Of course that this product costs money and everybody needs to be payed, but you can't charge it the same amount as some game that use ten times more people and resources. The shop is classic loot-box roulette gambling scam.
- There is two versions of this game - pc and mobile; I don't know which one is worst. PC version is with no ads but the already long waiting times for researches are even longer. Mobile version is ads-spam-machine; if you want to research the card combination you have to see SEVEN 30 second ads, and depending of how much would you play, you need to do this few times a day. Absolutely barbaric! The ads that you need to watch are for the worst cancer-inducing mobile scam games in existence. They thought that 10-15 second ads are not enough to show their garbage product.
If you like p2w mobile clickers then go ahead and try this, it is very good for a mobile game.
If you're looking for a decent card/deck-building strategy game - give this a pass.

This is one of two cosmetic DLCs for this game. It adds 4 different skins for your workers. There is a lot of skins that you can unlock by progressing the game and getting all the achievements, but nevertheless this is a welcome addition for true fans of the game. All the new models look great in my opinion, especially the pumpkin-head and the easter bunny. It is relatively cheap and totally worth it, but if you want to wait for the discount it goes for less than 50 cents.
I know that the devs are done with this game, but I would love to see more new skins every now and then.

This game looks like a test or a sketch that you develop before you start making an actual game. It's short, unbalanced, visually bland, bad physics, controls and camera, very easy and than very hard with no middle. As you can see on previews, it looks very simple and in my opinion pretty much terrible, the levels are composed of most basic geometric objects with no textures or some textures that looked like vomit, zero art direction. Repetitive music that starts from the begging every time you die (and you'll die a lot). You can't play with controller, you move your camera with the mouse and sometimes the camera will go behind the wall so you can't see your character (in other games that wall would become transparent). Jumping feels awful and not satisfying at all. The first 4 levels (half of the game) are basically go forward and jump, you can finish them in 2 minutes, than on the 5th level you get the first taste of the game's horrible mechanics. The last level is a frustrating nightmare, and it took all my energy and will to finish this game. I would reject this even as a free game, it worries me that steam has such a low quality standard, I know that it is all about the money but steam is full of this crap.

And, of course, like all the other cheap borderline-scam games here on steam, this is also an achievement-whoring game which is it's only value. You get 97 achievements for just turning on the game for the first time and 3 for actually playing it. This is ideal for all the little noobs and noobets that wants boost their fake gamer skills.

Another achievement whoring game made for people who would rather pay for the achievements than enjoy well-made game and upgrade skill while progressing. This game is garbage in it's every aspect, absolutely everything is awful - graphics, shapes, colors, fonts, music, gameplay, challenge... everything. It is worse than free game of this type - it's like the dev took a free game and then downgraded it with crap graphics. Worthless, don't buy!
