The idea of a game that takes what is essentially League of Legends style gameplay, strips out all of the PvP, and replaces it with a Roguelite loop is something that I didn’t know I needed until I gave this a shot.

The game is gorgeous, incredibly good stylistic art design without sacrificing readability and without being graphically intensive. The character designs are phenomenal, each feeling incredibly different both visually and gameplay wise. The minute to minute gameplay is a really solid mixup of MOBA and Roguelite that has you finding new abilities and augments to finish out your kit or entirely replace it as you go on with so many combinations that I haven’t had a single repeat build in the dozen or so runs I’ve tried so far and I haven’t even gotten my toe tips in to the depths of the customizations possible both from persistent customizations between runs and in-run drops. Enemies are varied and fun to engage with, bosses are challenging and punishing but fair.

All in all I’m hooked and am extremely excited about the potential for more zones, characters, and abilities being added to the game over time.

For $20 this game is an absolute steal if you have ANY interest in this combination of genres.

“Edging" (stylized in all caps) is a song recorded by American rock band Blink-182. Released on October 14, 2022, through Columbia Records, it is the band's first release following the return of founding guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLonge after a seven-year hiatus. It was written by DeLonge, bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker, the latter of whom also produced the song.[2] "Edging" was released as the lead single to the band's ninth album, One More Time....[3]

On producing the song, Barker offered: "I wanted to imagine as a listener what I wanted to experience and at the same time as a band member what we wanted to make and say and most importantly how it would sound production wise in 2022."[4][5] Though the song's title refers to the sexual practice, the song's lyrics do not directly reference it.[6]
The band first announced the song with a promotional video announcing their reunion with DeLonge on October 11,[7] with further clips shared on TikTok.[8]

The song has been cited as being a pop-punk[6][9] and punk rock[10][11] song by critics.

The song's music video was directed by Cole Bennett,[12] and produced through his Lyrical Lemonade studio. In the clip, the band is seen playing the song in a run down carnival surrounded by people in rabbit costumes, who they then proceed to murder with throwing knives.[13][14] Lyrical Lemonade released an alternate version of the video, featuring cameo appearances by Bennett himself and rapper Lil Tracy on October 19, 2022.[15]

In the United States, "Edging" became the band's highest-charting single on the all-genre Hot 100 in eighteen years, posting at number 61.[16] It also made its debut at number twelve on Billboard's Alternative Airplay after just three days of tracking. It then went on to become the band's fourth and longest number one single in its history, spending 13 weeks on top of Alternative Airplay, where it also gave Blink-182 a top placement single in four different decades, tying them with Green Day and Red Hot Chili Peppers for the most ever by an artist.[17][18] In addition, "Edging" became their biggest hit on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay, peaking at number two. The song also charted well outside the United States, including Canada, the UK, New Zealand, Australia, and Japan.[19][20][21][22][23]

The song received positive reviews from contemporary music critics. Jason Lipshutz at Billboard opined that the track "proves that DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker still know how to get in a room and create tight, catchy, exceedingly sophomoric pop-punk; it's great to have them back."[24] Stereogum columnist Rachel Brodsky called the tune "fun, flippant, and satisfying as hell".[12] Lars Brandle from Billboard called it "straight-up Blink-182 material, hewn from misspent youth and with all the bluster, swagger and stop-on-a-dime detail that made the threesome one of the most popular alternative rock acts of its era."[25] Ellie Robinson from NME dubbed the "belting pop-punk anthem" an ode to the "dissolution of a relationship".[6] Sam Roche from Guitar World characterized the tune as a "mid-tempo bouncy number loaded with Blink's tried-and-tested stylistic devices, including punchy powerchords, a stellar drum performance and a light-hearted tongue-in-cheek set of lyrics."[26] Jon Caramanica of The New York Times considered it sterile, writing, "It's familiar but uncanny, Botoxed tight but with none of the puerile joy that marked the group's breakout hits."[27]

Disco Elysium is a masterpiece of an RPG but it was stolen from the rightful creators via hostile takeover of ZA/UM by vexatious litigants who are currently exploiting the hard work and passion of the people who made it while trying to destroy the lives of the actual creators.

Instead of buying this, donate to Disco Elysium writer Argo Tuulik to help him in his court battle against the monsters currently profiting off his work www[.]gofundme[.]com/f/help-disco-elysium-writer-survive-the-winter

If the idea of Risk of Rain but it's Elden Ring strikes you as an absolutely deranged concept for a Fromsoft spin-off title, then you'd be right because it absolutely is but honestly it works and it works really, really well.

I don't really understand why people are acting like they're disappointed this isn't the next Shadow of the Erdtree, so many of the negative reviews early on are just "WAAAH GAME IS WHAT DEVS SAID IT WOULD BE INSTEAD OF WHAT I WANTED IT TO BE" which is useless as feedback. Fromsoft is allowed to try other things and experiment, they are not your Dark Souls slaves where they are only allowed to make one game forever.

Nightreign has a few issues, duo queuing for a matchmade 3rd is broken at time of writing, performance is a bit ass at times, the game renders at fully usable ultrawide but arbitrarily puts black bars on the sides and then EAC's you out of removing them with .ini edits, and the progression of the game is really stale until you've seen everything at which points your runs will start randomizing properly, but as a core concept it's incredibly fun.

Pick from a really well-rounded selection of characters with their own abilities and starting gear and distinct appearances, select the end-boss you want to hunt like you would Monster Hunter, then fly in, drop on to the map and run around doing Elden Ring open world content and clearing strongholds and killing mini bosses while levelling up and gathering gear to fight 2 random bosses from Elden Ring before getting to your chosen final boss which is entirely unique to this game.

It's fast paced, fun, and feels like they took that "jolly co-operation" feeling of the old Sunbros covenants and bottled it in to its own spin off game.

Like I said above, Risk of Rain but it's Elden Ring. If that sounds fun to you, you'll love this. If you are JUST here because you want the next Shadow of the Erdtree then Do Not Bother. This game is not for you and it was never made with you in mind.

Whelp, got to HR50. Here we go --

First and foremost, yes, the game is poorly optimized. But it's not SO bad that it's entirely unplayable. Tweak things and work within your specs and you can get good performance. If you're EXTREMELY unlucky, there are some crashing issues, but ultimately it's no worse than how World was at launch, and the issues are getting fixed over time. Run the benchmark tool, use your best judgement.

That out of the way, I have to say Wilds is by far the most fun minute-to-minute gameplaywise Monst Hunter game I have played. There's so many QoL improvements and archaic, overly-clunky systems that have been streamlined, that combined with all the new tools and mechanics, Wilds becomes a much more fluid and fast-paced game to play compared to previous titles.

Seikrets are a game-changer. Being able to call your mount mid-combat to rush over and scoop you up so you can sharpen or pop a potion or use your sling to grab environmental support or ammo, all while moving around removes the clunkiest and most tedious parts of older games and lets you get back in to fights quicker. The Wound System and the Focus system combined are both incredible. You have so much more direct control over your hunter and their attacks, and you have more pathways to fully charge your weapons and break parts on top of that. The result is that lower ranks fights are a bit easier than they were in previous games, but all these new systems just means that as they add in the harder difficulty monsters and content with Title Updates and the inevitable expansion, there's going to be so much more going on that fights will be way more dynamic and engaging. I've never been this excited for the heavy hitters to make their appearances.

The story is fine, people are just mean and looking for anything they can to complain about. It's your standard Monster Hunter affair of "thing happen, go to place, discover why thing happen, balance of nature is threatened by thing it turns out, fix problem, congratulations you've finished the tutorial". This time though they've made things a bit more cinematic and actually tried to tell an engaging story that unfortunately runs up against the fact that all these cutscenes and dialogue sequences keep you fully on rails and prevent you from going out and engaging with the long-term Monster Hunter loop until after the credits roll. But, ultimately, I enjoyed the story, It explores aspects of the Monster Hunter lore that are extremely cool, and introduces concepts that have only been hinted at in previous games, with tons of really cool implications if you know what's going on.

Ultimately Wilds is a joy in spite of its performance issues and general Capcom bizzare technical design choices. 50 hours in and I'm still wanting more, and I'm excited as hell for the future of this game. Years of additions and content updates are coming just like they did for World and Rise and things can only get better from here.

If you're willing to look past the performance issues or have a rig that can bruteforce it, then whether you're an old blood, a Fiver (derogatory) or a brand new player looking to get in to the series, this is it.

I ulted as Jeff and swallowed the entire enemy team, dragged them off the point with Overtime active, and spat them off the edge of a cliff. One of them came to the steam forums to demand Jeff be deleted from the game. 10/10.

I literally don't have a single negative thing to say about Atlyss.

It sets out to do 3 things: Cute + Shamelessly Horny art direction, simple but engaging ARPG-style gameplay, and fun multiplayer. It does all 3 of those things flawlessly.

Playing this game fills me with nostalgia for when friends from school would sleep over during the weekends and we'd all play FFCC Ring of Fates for the DS, going room-to-room killing monsters that would drop loot that we'd share and cheer when we got upgrades to our equipment and leveled up and got a new skill or ability.

For $10 this game is a steal for what it offers and I can't wait to see where it goes from here.

TL;DR - 7/10, It's okay. I can see what they were going for and I appreciate it but it misses the mark in enough places that I don't blame people for not liking it. Also giving me jesters is an admission that you want to date me. Sorry but the answer is no.

This is one of those games where I wish Steam gave us a "Maybe" or a "Yes, however--" option for reviews because this game needs one BAD.

Veilguard is a continuation of Inquisition's directional shift in taking Dragon Age away from traditional CRPG design in to Action Adventure with light RPG elements, and it does this while also slimming down a lot of the pseudo-open world and fetch quests that Inqusition did as it struggled with thinking it was part MMO. The result is something far, FAR more akin to Mass Effect 1-3 than it is Dragon Age 1 and 2. You have your base of operations that takes you from mission hub map to mission hub map, as you do various missions to grow your crew and arsenal and level up, each mission takes you to a linear map with enemy encounters and some pretty basic puzzle solving, and gluing everything together is an assortment of dialogue sequences where you choose how your character responds and the whole thing is played out fully voiced. People called Inquisition "fantasy mass effect", but no, THIS is fantasy Mass Effect.

Some specifics:

Graphics are serviceable. The environmental and ambient design is top notch. All the environments look stunning and the heavy use of color makes it a gorgeous game to play around in, however the stylistics that make everything seem a bit more cartoony just don't really vibe with me that much. Everybody feels like they're made out of plastic that's been draped in some of the best cloth and hair physics I've ever seen. The enemy design is...eh. All the demons that had unique anthropomorphized looks to them in previous games are now just weird plant things with gamer RGB, the Darkspawn look like generic zombies as opposed to Tokien Orcs on Meth which made them a lot more interesting, and it's all just standard fantasy affair that would have been fine if it was already just That Way in Dragon Age before but they redesigned everything and still kept it looking generic and un-interesting.

Dialogue is the elephant in the room and a lot of people are acting like it's 9/11 in conversation form but it's really not. They were trying to go for a more light-hearted, uplifting and campy vibe this time around and while I can absolutely appreciate that, not everything needs to be absurdly "grimdark" 24/7, they just fell back on doing Marvel-style writing where everybody is slightly sarcastic and while I haven't heard a "well THAT just happened" yet I get the vibe they had to restrain themselves from doing it, and I feel like one is going to creep in at some point. As for the LGBTQ+ stuff, look I'm queer, I appreciate them trying, and a non-binary character making another do pushups for misgendering them is based as ♥♥♥♥, some of it really does just come off as yet another corporation going "LOOK WE GOT THE GAYS!!!!". It's a shame because Dorian in Inquisition is probably one of the best written queer characters in video games and I'd have liked to see more of that, but oh well. It's not actually a big deal, no amount of clipping 5 total minutes of dialogue out of literal hundreds of hours of it will make it a big deal.

Gameplay wise it's Fantasy Mass Effect. Freeze the game by going in to the command menu to tell your team mates to do things and use their abilities and choose your target for your own, meanwhile combat is relatively fast paced. Keeping more with Inquisition's action focused style and cranking it up, there's a lot more dodging and blocking with reaction markers while managing your own attack patterns and cycling through abilities. It's fun, and Mage gameplay is an absolute joy this time around. Each class gets 3 sub classes you build towards through a large ability tree filled with actives and passives that let you build up your chatacter over the course of the game and cement a specific playstyle and specialization. And while the RPG elements beyond that are a lot more subdued, I still feel like I'm building a playstyle for myself.

All in all it's a decent game. I like it, I'm having a lot of fun with it, but for the fun I'm having I keep running in to things that make me wish it was a BETTER game. There's a lot of potential here and it's just not met as much as it could have been. The game was in development hell for a while and it really shows. There's a skeleton of something far more ambitious here that they just couldn't make happen and had to trim things out and take what they did have and consolidate it in to what we see today. It's a shame, but I have no issue recommending it with the caveat that if you didn't like Inquisition and/or you can't stand Marvel Dialogue, you'll probably want to avoid this one.

So yeah, 7/10. It's Fine.

Dawntrail is being review bombed by three groups of people:
-People who do not actually play Final Fantasy XIV and just spam-skip through the story so they can get end-game glams to go RP with in player housing venues.
-People who see Wuk Lamat and get aggressively annoyed at somebody who's happy and out-going instead of gritty and miserable all the time.
-People who can have all their complaints boiled down to "It's woke :("

In actuality Dawntrail is a phenomenal first step out of the Hydaelyn Saga that concluded with Endwalker. After having saved the world several times over and barely living to celebrate their victory, The Warrior of Light goes on what is essentially a Tropical Vacation adventure while honoring a foe-turned-friend's request that they see all the world has to offer so they can truly appreciate the mantle they have inherited. Our Character takes a back-seat for a while in the story, functioning as the mysterious and powerful Mentor character to the next generation of heroes, literally Those Who Walk Before teaching Those Who Walk After as has been sung in Answers for over a decade now. As the story progresses the Warrior of Light takes a more active role as a new threat is uncovered and they once again fight to defend the world they have been charged with protecting.
As we progress through this story, Dawntrail offers incredible music, some of the most beautiful scenery the game has to offer, two new incredible jobs, one of which quickly became my new favorite, dungeons and trials that are some of the most fun the game has had in years, sets the stage for a bunch of fantastic new content coming up next, a ton of QoL and visual improvements to the entire game that makes older content look and feel even more amazing than before, and I've never been more excited for the future of this game. I was worried that after Endwalker, the story and content team would run out of steam since the stakes literally can't get higher than that, but they immediately put those worries to rest. Dawntrail is, as I said, the perfect follow-up. The Warrior of Light saves the world and gets to go back to just being an Adventurer experiencing new places, learning about new cultures and people, facing new foes, and continuing to appreciate the world they saved.

The Mixed reviews at the time of posting this review are already climbing back up as people who actually play the game finish up with the story and come to leave their own review, and in the meantime people like a certain grifters on Twitter will continue to cry about how this game is "woke" without realizing FF14 has been "woke" since the very beginning. This has always been a game about friendship, co-operation between people and cultures, fighting back against oppression and cyclical violence, and having empathy and compassion for the struggles of others, as Final Fantasy as a franchise has for decades.

Dawntrail is an incredible expansion, it surpassed all my expectations, put all my worries to rest, and I can't wait to see what comes next.
