The devs continue to release DLC before addressing major balance issues the game still has (primarily culture balance, war, and pollution).
Mod support helps this game a bit, as there are community fixes out there, and the game itself is beautiful, but for the price tag it's just not worth it.

Amplitude described this as their 'magnum opus' so it's really disappointing that they aren't committed to really fixing the game.

Multiplayer works, but is a little unstable. The recent patch presumably has fixed most of these issues.

That being said:
I have a few hundred hours in the physical board game, and can say that this is a fantastic adaptation! No more needing to keep track of all of the rules and setting up the game!
The campaign and some other features are not implemented yet, though the core Gloomhaven experience is still there.

A great casual D&D-like with (mostly) witty humor and a great loot system. It's best played with 2 other friends in the co-op campaign mode -- but be careful if you plan on spending money on this game since content updates have all but disappeared.
