As a Half-Life fan I waited for years to finally get a VR headset and have a chance to play Alyx. It took me a little while to get used to VR and to be able to play without getting motion sick. Basically Alyx is my first game in VR. If you are able to, you should play it! It looks and sound amazing and it is a full length Half-Life episode where you play as Alyx. It feels awesome to actually be in City 17. There are a ton of things to interact with in the game and it all feels natural. It's so cool that you can even draw with pens. The combat is really fun too and you can upgrade the few weapons you'll have. I enjoyed the story, the unique scary sections and the stunning environments. It a great game!

If you're about to play this game the first time after playing the remake like I did, I'm here to warn you. The camera feels really bad. You move and turn using only the left thumbstick and a camera just lives its own life. You can control it to aim while standing still, but not during movement. It just goes crazy. However it's actually not that bad after a few hours. The real horror in this game are the QTEs. They are extremely frustrating! They can happen anytime, but mostly during bossfights and cutscenes. Their existence would be just annoying, but in many cases they just don't register at all and you'll die a few times until they somehow do. Some people say it only happens if the FPS is capped to 60 and it doesn't happen with 30, but I didn't try that. Oh, and there is the button mashing.. Frustrating as hell. Without the QTEs this would have been a fantastic game! I'm so angry about them. xD I really loved the graphics, the cheesy dialogues and the locations that were missing from the remake. I also enjoyed the two Ada missions. Except the QTEs. Again.. So if you don't mind those, then it's a game well worth to play even after the modern RE games.

I've found Cry of Fear while looking for great horror games similar to the Resident Evil games. It looked interesting. I had several crashes at first just trying to set the resolution and brightness, but after that I had no other crashes or serious bugs while playing. The only exception is that sometime when I loaded a save game, some notes were gone and I had to load an earlier save. Also stuff that you drop will disappear. The game has a truly unique atmosphere. The Gold Source engine is eerie by itself, but Cry of Fear turns it up by a notch. It feels like playing the original Half-Life with a horror twist. I really liked the pacing, the story and the overall gameplay. The weapons are great, the enemies are scary and diverse. It has some nice Resident Evil-like puzzles and the inventory management also reminds me of the RE series. I have to mention though that I hated the platforming sections. I didn't enjoy it in Half-Life either. All the crouch jumping, the slippery movement. I don't think it's good. Of course after the first playthrough you'll get really good in the platforming, but it was very frustrating for me the first time. There are a lot of stuff you can unlock and there are different endings and variety in the game. I think I'll get back to it at some point or I'll take a look at Afraid of Monsters. This release bundles a dozen of community made mods which I tried, but didn't enjoy them at all. The game is free. Give it a try, it gets really fun from around Chapter 4.

It's a very fun platformer and a really great SpongeBob game. If you're a fan of Rehydrated or Cosmic Shake, it is a must play! Titans of the Tide is a huge step up from the previous game in terms of graphics, polish and overall quality. It feels like it had a much bigger budget. The animations, lighting, cinematography and the voice overs are a stand out. The gameplay and the platforming has also improved a lot. I loved the story and the atmosphere. The HUB to where you can return to is also a nice idea. My only disappointment was its lenght. It felt even shorter than the Cosmic Shake and the first three locations felt very similar. I loved the snow covered Jellyfish Fields with its nice bright vibes and semi open world approach. I would have loved to have a few more locations like that with different themes. The challenges are fun and the last ones could provide even a little challenge. It has some nice costumes as well if you are into those. It's well packed with unlockables, secrets and memorabilia as well. It's fun, great looking, but a little bit short.

It's a really fun collection of games to try out VR and to get comfortable with the experience.

This game was review bombed because of the horrible Anniversary Edition which broke the game for many players and asked for a bunch of money for useless cosmetic creations and kept the few actually good creations as payed mods. It is very sad how the greed grows. However I'm reviewing the game as it is and as one of the few players who plays Bethesda games without mods, never clicks on Creations and declines everything, I had a lot of fun with this game. The atmosphere is not as good as it was in Fallout 3, at least for me. This time is more colorful and more like a parody of the franchise, but it's still fun and without the green filter this time. The graphics improved a lot. You can notice it easily if you play it right after 3. The combat isn't clunky anymore and the weapons are really fun to use! The main story and the faction quest are boring, and overall very bad, but with high production quality for a game from this studio. However the rest of the quest, the proper DLCs, the exploration are very good. Even the base building can be fun. Especially cleaning up the settlements. The best way to play this game, at least in my opinion is to just explore, do the quest you run into, live in the world and have fun. It's Skyrim with guns. It's not as bad as some people say it is. Give it a try! It might be the studio's last good game with an actual soul.

I've jumped straight into it after completing 2033. I really enjoyed it except some small frustrations when I had no idea what to do. It's mostly because I played on a difficulty without UI and had no prompts sometimes for E. I also didn't know for a long time that I can hold E to pick up weapons so I played for several levels with the silenced pistol only. It was fun though. While 2033 was around 8 hours for me, Last Light took a little more than 20 hours, including the DLCs. Some of them are really great like Kshatriya, Anna, Khan, Pavel and Spider Lair. Others are okay with some scary cool easter eggs like the cleaner lady on Developer Pack. Other are very bad, like the Tower Pack, at least for my slow paced, sneak focused playstyle. It a great game!

It is clunky and it is buggy, but man, it is also very fun! The graphics and art style are somehow nice, I liked it. Music and sound are just okay. They managed to make the combat much fun and this includes melee, all the weapons and even the throwables. Everything is physics simulated and ragdolls are active even while the enemies are alive. Every shot has an impact and it makes it feel good. Except the third garage container, that wasn't fun. xD It was a challenge. Overall, there is a lot to fix and to improve, especially the camera, but it's already a fun game. Give it a try!

I can't say anything bad about it, it was an okay experience. I didn't play the first game so I don't know much about the story and I didn't learn much during the demo either and this way I'm not really interested. There is nothing that hooked me. I really loved the Inventory and collecting resources and crafting stuff in fun. Reminded me of Resident Evil which is a good point. There are a lot of missing sound like the swing of the melee weapon. Combat overall felt boring, but it's not broken. Sneaking around was also fun. You should give it a try. It might be something that you'll like.

It's not what I was looking for, but generally not a bad game. It's weird. Like a mix of an almost AAA and a first indie project. The environments are very high quality and very detailed, some animations are surprisingly polished like ladder climbing and replacing the power cores. I didn't encounter any typical indie jankyness either and it ran very smooth for me. Good job guys! Things like the crowbar hit animation, the NPC lipsync and the zombies in their entirety are the weakest points of the game. However the soldiers and their AI is really awesome and they made fights challenging, I was surprised. Reminded me of F.E.A.R. Really cool. It has a little Black Mesa and Doom 3 vibe as well. Could become a good game. Give it a try!
