all jokes aside you can just turn off the awful looking ray tracing and play the shareware demo for free, so if you cant afford the remaster this is a good way to try out quake 2.

First of all, let me say I hate how the characters look. That’s like half of why I don’t like this game. The other half is that the gameplay is just not entertaining. It feels like they looked at other games like it and picked the most surface level parts of all of them, and then put on on Steam for free and asked for your money.

Card based spinoff games almost never work. Good job Shovelknight, bad job Bloons.

This feels like a poorly made Roblox game. Going in for the first time, I got bombarded by “new” stuff before I could figure out what was happening. I jumped into some games and it just isn’t fun

in my opinion, straftat is sort of the perfect game to play with your friend for two main reasons. first of all, it's very easy to access for anyone, being free, not needing a good pc, and also working on macOS. also, it happens to just be a really fun game. despite being an indie game, you can find matches easily, though i'd recommend playing with a friend. 1v1s are great, but so is 2v2ing against other people! i also love the map design, graphics, and over all gameplay. the weapons aren't revolutionary, but they aren't bad at all. the only thing that bums me out is a lack of being able to add your own maps, but there are more than enough good pre-existing ones to have variety. with custom maps, i think this game could be a 10/10

After just under 50 hours of playtime and 100%ing Quake, I feel confident in saying I would in fact recommend this game. I really don't have much to say about it that you wouldn't hear in any other review, but I think it's important to note that this game comes with all of the expansion packs, which are also great. I played through all of them in order, and when I got to the fourth of the expansion packs, I was blown away by the level design, especially in the Dimension of the Blacksmiths. I know it's a little thing, but I thought it was pretty darn cool. I haven't done much of the multiplayer, but I know a lot of people swear by it. Also, I only once had to deal with a bug, but thankfully I was able to use console commands to get out of it, so there's not much to worry about in that area.
