Baldur's Gate is one of the best RPG experiences created to this day. Originally released in 1998, BioWare struck gold with this great D&D-licensed RPG. Now, over a decade later, Overhaul Games/Beamdog have appropriately overhauled the game in this Enhanced Edition, but is it worth getting?

Definitely! The massive scale of the game, the sheer amount of quests with excellent dialogue and the huge sense of freedom makes this a fantastic RPG experience to this very day. The Enhanced Edition comes with the original, the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion and offers even more content with the addition of three new companions, each of which offer an excellent experience, in addition to the new "The Black Pits" campaign which focused on arena-style combat. The Enhanced Edition additionally contains all the improvements that Baldur's Gate 2 had, meaning you can now play every single race/kit that BG2 contained plus the Enhanced Edition adds a bunch of new options and possibilities.

But the game is old and the Enhanced Edition does little to change this fact. Although there have been visual improvements, most notably a better user interface, it still looks like an incredibly old game and as the Enhanced Edition comes with a shocking lack of options this becomes a problem. Furthermore, the game does no effort or attempt to guide you. Especially fans of modern RPGs will run into this quickly, as the game is not even remotely user friendly. You will find no quest waypoints and very little in the way of statistic or spell explanations, meaning you will have to have patience learning and understanding the obviously outdated mechanics.

If however you can deal with these issues, then Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is definitely worth getting. If you've played these games to death in the past, and have dabbled in the numerous mods at the time, then this may not be for you though the new content might just offer you enough. It is a much more convenient game with some great additions that makes playing this fantastic classic an amazing experience any RPG fan should play.

Far Cry 3 is an excellent singleplayer game with a great free-roaming experience, a lot to do, memorable characters and a good and highly confusing storyline (At least, the first half of it.. it does fall off a little afterwards). Sadly there is not much in the sense of survival going on and sometimes it can become a bit of a grind, but the gameplay is a ton of fun. Although the co-op missions can be enjoyable, multiplayer is really not the reason you should be getting this. Instead, definitely get it for the amazing singleplayer.

Monster Loves You! Does what it does well, but it doesn’t do a whole lot. It is a charming, simple and cute game that won’t cost you a lot but also won’t last very long. If you’re looking for a decent visual novel, this is certainly an interesting one to try out, if just for the concept of playing as a little monster. The art style itself is great albeit lacking in animations, the dialogue is quite amusing at times and there are quite a few choices to make that lead to different endings.
If that is what you’re looking for, then this is worth a shot. If you are looking for something with more sustenance or context, or simply more gametime, then this will definitely not do.

Mars: War Logs is a game of potential. The universe created by Spiders is certainly curious but is often let down by the badly written dialogue and pacing of the story, or the sometimes horrendous voice overs.

Graphically it is an appealing game and the environments and music is all there in a solid fashion. The combat is largely enjoyable and has a nice punch behind it, the skill system and crafting mechanics are nice but the lack of variety within loot is a letdown. In the end, Mars: War Logs is an above average game that will certainly be an enjoyable experience for those looking for a nice little third person RPG, and are willing to forgive it for its diamond in the rough state.

Anomaly 2 does almost everything absolutely right and it is hard to find flaws within this title created by 11 Bit studios. Anomaly 2 is graphically a gorgeous game with a sleek interface and impressive environments, gameplay is challenging and hectic with good pacing and focus on tactics and micromanagement, not to mention a good amount of depth, while keeping it highly accessible. The campaign will likely net you a decent amount of time, there’s leaderboards for those that enjoy fighting over the number 1 spot, and the now all new versus multiplayer mode breathes more life into the title, while giving you the chance to take vengeance upon the machinery hating humans.

In the end, all I can fault it for is the annoying voice acting and lackluster story. Plus, this game would benefit a ton from a skirmish mode, which is sadly not a present feature and would be a great addition, especially were it to allow you to play as the machines versus AI. It is a fantastic game within it’s genre and you need not think long about picking this one up if these games are you cup of chaotic tea.

Marvel Heroes is the absolute average of average with nothing actually going for it, and is simply riding on the theme which is its one redeeming quality.
The fact that Marvel Heroes is an MMO and a F2P one at that, heavily undermines the actual experience. The story is neither interesting nor boring – nor is it hero specific giving you little replay reasons, and you won’t ever get immersed into your character. The way they handle F2P means they want you to buy costumes – for ridiculous amounts of money, and as a result gear is absolutely boring and you’ll look like almost every other hero out there.
Had Marvel Heroes not been an online F2P game, had this been an on- and offline game with a one-time purchase, I could see this being a ton more enjoyable and worth playing. Or even simply allowing you to pick from any of the super heroes on the list at the start, while pricing them all the same, would have been far more reasonable.
As it stands, Marvel Heroes is boring in its combat, boring as a loot hunting game and boring as an immersive experience with an incredibly unfair microtransaction system.

Shadowrun Returns is a decently capable game and most of all is a good start. It will be interesting to see where the game ends up, as the game comes bundled with an editor allowing for a lot of potential from the community making Shadowrun Returns a game that is likely going to grow a lot over time.
The current module, The Dead Man’s Switch, is an okay experience which is sadly awfully limited in story decisions and suffers from many little oversights and rough flaws such as underwhelming AI and a lack of simple quality of life systems such as manual saving, but does contain excellent writing that incorporates much of the interesting universe without overwhelming newcomers.

As such, the potential is definitly there and what it currently contains will be entertaining and fun to go through for the RPG fan, but it isn’t anything that will happily surprise you or amaze you in any way. If you are looking for a decent RPG with good writing and a solid amount of abilities and skills to choose from, Shadowrun Returns is an easy recommendation.

Bionic Dues is a mixed but mostly positive experience. The tactical elements are enjoyable and combined with the great enemy variety, missions themselves are fun and challenging to pull off. Challenge seems fair, and relies mostly on your own capabilities.
It is then such a shame virtually everything else is not nearly as well done with the game having an incredibly bad first impression with the bland visuals and painful sound assets. Bionic Dues sadly feels like a confused game, not knowing whether it wants to go for being incredibly cheesy and silly or rather dark and atmospheric.

Bionic Dues is certainly a recommendation for those looking for an interesting tactical, turn based experience, but it does require you to accept the bland look of it all. If you are looking for a tough but fair, quick and tactical game then Bionic Dues may very well be one to look out for.

Reus is a solid god simulation game. It is quite unique, there is a lot in the form of unlockables and plenty of combinations and variation among the different resources and mechanics. Besides the somewhat annoying project mechanic, the game functions well and is quite addicting, not to mention it has a nice and beautiful little art style.
There is some basic functionality lacking in the form of speeding up time or customizing your game settings more and the game can get repetitive.

I would have loved to see them go a little bit more all-out with this. Lets be honest, every god game needs to have vulcanoes. More music tracks would have been great, weather systems could be interesting or more advanced combat simulation would all work so very well in this game, but it is either way definitely worth the money and I can certainly recommend it.

Episode 1 or “Faith” is an excellent first 2 hour or so long chapter in The Wolf Among Us story. The presentation is in every way fantastic, with the one down side being the somewhat jarring frame problems during transitions, these are largely neglectable and they managed to make this world of fables come alive.

If you are looking for a game that features many puzzles and gives you plenty of room to uncover its secrets, you are unlikely to find it here. Gameplay is greatly paced during the fight scenes, but not so much when you are given free roam. If you are however looking for a great universe with great story, characters and dialogue.. well, you need not look further.
With episode 1, The Wolf Among Us is looking like it will be a fantastic episodic experience to play through.
