I had very low expectations going into this. I went into this knowing Bethesda standards and was prepared for a glitchy clunky time. But Bethesda somehow still managed to disappoint me with this game. I was done after one hour and took an hour break before giving it another try but couldn't last more the 25mins because of all the loading screens.

The Spaceship HUD - The control seat has screens and text that mean nothing. The spaceship HUD is then added to the player HUD. It gives a jarring overload of fake information on 3d models overlapping with the player HUD. Using the Grav jump drive doesn't change any of the pictures/data on the 3d models but the player HUD adds grav jump warning in big red text.

Loading screens - During my second attempt to play the game I counted how many loading screens I was confronted with. In just 25 minutes I was faced with 16 loading screens (25min time frame that includes booting up the game from desktop to exiting back to the desktop).
Loading the menu (load screen 1),
Loading the save (load screen 2),
Landing on the planet (load screen 3),
Leaving the ship (load screen 4),
Finding out I landed next to the city I needed to enter so I needed to go back into my ship (load screen 5),
Fast travel to the city (load screen 6),
Leaving my ship for the second time (load screen 7),
Talking to the dock hand and loaded up the ship customizing tool (load screen 8),
Exiting the ship customizing tool (load screen 9),
Entering the city tram (load screen 10),
Walking into the explorers mansion (load screen 11),
Talking to one person that activated a cut scene(load screen 12),
Cut scene ended that activated another load screen(load screen 13),
Exited the explorers mansion (load screen 14),
Used the city tram for the second time (load screen 15),
Entered my ship again (load screen 16)

Walk speed?-The NPCs have a walk speed that the player does not have. The player can sprint or move at a snail pace. This can be problematic when you have to stay close to an NPC to hear the dialog but you are either too far or too close.

Graphics - I had the graphics set to high and faced moments of texturing popping/ visual glitches. I thought there was something wrong with my gpu so I lowered the settings to medium and then low. No change to the visual glitches or texture popping. When talking to NPCs it takes a minute or two for the model to realize that the audio has started before starting to move the mouth.

If this game was released in 2005 by a small studio I would be more forgiving. I have forgiven Bethesda a lot over the years and would have liked to get to experience something new from them. But this game is still very much in their comfort zone of fallout and skyrim sandboxes. I love space and spaceships with sci-fi but I didn't feel that love when playing this game.

So I'm going to refund this game now. I might think about buying it again when the price is reduced to $20 and the bugs are worked out in a couple years.

Well.... This is sad to see this game on sale when the original creators will not get a single cent due to the studio being shutdown.

The AAA price ended with disappointment so I'm changing my original review to negative.

Original review....
I was honestly worried about playing this with all the negative comments because I built my computer almost 6 years ago with no upgrades since.

But I had no issues playing this. Ended up having fun on the max graphical settings and I don't have a good graphics card. My active RAM usage is 15GB so the minimum specs of 12GB ram might be a limiter for some people.

My specs
AMD Ryzen 7 1700X Eight-Core Processor 3.40 GHz
Ram 32.0 GB
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

I looking forward to the game updates.

Keep up the good work Devs.

I really want to like this game but the delivery of the game mechanics make it hard to like.
So here are some pros and cons.

Pros
-clean UI
-pretty
-low system requirement's
-no need to understand physics in space

Cons
-Poor tutorial that doesn't explain how to use the tools provided.
-RNG isnt tied to a difficulty curve so you get impossible missions right at the start of the game.
-doesn't matter how much you understand physics in space.
-feels like a poor mobile port with little done to adapt to PC.

I love KSP and understand physics in space along with orbits but the user interface in this game is what I'm having problems with. It feels like the developers wanted to stream line everything to give it a clean appearance but fails to clearify how the user interacts with the tools provided. The tutorial just says look at these icons and fails to explain how to use them.

I personally dont like difficulty from frustration and a good example of this is getting a deorbit mission that is impossible to complete right out of the gate. The game loaded up a deorbit mission and the object had almost the exact same orbit as my default satillite but on the opposite side of earth so no line of sight could be made. Then to add insult to injury my satillite went into hibration mode and didn't want to wake up thus failing 6 more missions and failing the game. How is that fair? Did I just get a really bad random number generator 5 new games in a row and if this is the case why not have a default mission or two as a tutorial that is possible.

Unforgiving gameplay should be tied to skill and understanding of the game mechanics not used as an excuse for RNG without parameters or difficulty curve.

As stated at the top I really wanted to like this game but as it is I can't recomment this game in its current state.

I have taken my own advice and refunded the game because I haven't had any joy playing it.

I nominated Fnaf: Sister location as The “Game Within A Game” Award because of how every night is a new game. Who else agrees that it was refreshing and differn't in all the best ways.

This game fits the "Just 5 more minutes award" so I nominated Rimworld. I hope other people agree that you just can't stop at 5 more minutes.

The Turing Test is a refreshing game that balances puzzles with strong story elements.
I have heard people saying that this is a Portal clone but that is only an over simplification that I just don't agree with. With Portal you had to bend your perception and understanding of physics to solve puzzles but with the Turing test you have to bend your mind and mechanical timing to solve problems.

Intriguing Story

The story was wonderfully integrated into the game flow. I would like to go into detail about the story but I would only spoil the ending. The extra puzzles add another layer of audio logs and text that helps build the universe of this game alongside the social interaction between Ava and Tom. I admit that this game would make for a wonderful short film because of the interactions between Tom and Ava.

Buggy Launch but recovered my trust.

I was apart of the AMD crowd that had initial problems with the impossibly long loading screens. Sure it was painful but within 2 days of launch they patched it and for me I don't see any loading screen problems anymore. The developers were transparent and honest with the players that bought the game during the rough launch for AMD users. They were quick to find hot-fixes with the people that were having problems while they were working on a patch.

Conclusion

This game is a must if you enjoy puzzles and the price isn't that unreasonable for what it is. They put a lot of thought into the story and the mechanics aren't too overwhelming early on. I paid a little extra for the upgrade pack because I loved the music in this game and I will most likely listen to it while I study for future exams.

Good Job Bulkhead Interactive and I can't wait to see what your crew makes next.
