SEASON 4 UPDATE*
since the update dropped my fps has been insanely unstable dropping between 400-70 FPS mid fights compared to season 3.5 and prior
(prior i had a buttery smooth capped 480fps which only sometimes dropped to 300)
tried everything from verifying game files to reinstalling nvidia drivers to reinstalling the game to clearing dxcache and currently im just considering never touch this game again because theres no way i need more than an rtx 5080 and a ryzen 7 9800x3d to run an fps game at more than 100 fps at the lowest settings at 720p

i genuinely do not get how this garbage infostealer company didnt test ♥♥♥♥ resulting in performance issues for masses
i genuinely had better fps with my older 6 year old pc than the current 2000$ pc ive got (before this garbage update)
my only option is to reinstall windows but for a game that isnt even that much greater than ow? is it really worth it? the bar is a bit too low if thats the case for games idk i miss the days when games just worked

season 1.5 update:
each big update i drop my avg fps by around 5-10.
this game during start of season 0 used to run much better than right (1% lows-wise) now and it pisses me off how the devs arent prioritizing fixing the engine issues enough.
each newer map runs worse than the last newest map and its INSANE how little care they have for performance even tho this is an FPS title that runs worse than cyberpunk
i will upgrade my pc in a couple of months just to run this unreal engine 5fps mf
current specs: r7 5800x 2x16gb cl16 3600mhz rtx 3060ti nvme 2500/2500mbs
lowest settings possible 720p 60% TAAU

god i hate fallout 4 and bethesda

at least they are ok at making TES games

To anyone saying this is a troll review heres my full review:

Servers are still actively being ddos'd and the game can be sometimes unplayable.
Servers have been downgraded in general since OW1 has been ended:
Your ping might seem lower than it was in ow1 but it doesnt matter, your Interpolation Delay (IND) is always fluctuating between 22-27 and sometimes goes up to 29 which basically makes noregs happen every second and desyncs what you see clientside vs what actually happens serverside. (moxy loves this)

FPS overall is worse, dropping from 300-400 on low settings 1080p in ow1 to 180-300 in ow2 on my budget setup (ryzen 5 3600 gtx 1060 2x8gb 3200mhz) meaning 240hz is no longer an option even tho this is suppose to be an esport title (but i will be honest it has better optimizations than tf2)

TheCommunityTM is still terrible and will continue being like that since blizzard (bobby kotick) has fired most of the employees that moderate and review chat reports to cut down on the budget and fill his pocket furthermore :)
Basically people spamming the n words with hard r's is kind of common and 90% of the time they dont even get banned lol

smurfs are as common as ever making each rank feel meaningless + many boosted diamond player can be grandmaster or even top500 (and many of them mfs exist)
(cheaters are fairly common aswell nowdays)

top500 rewards are non existent
back in ow1 you used to at least get animated season sprays as a reward for finishing as a top 500 ladder player but those rewards have been gone ever since ow2's release
haha pve (real talk i dont care about pve that much)

game got no updates for 3 years because of the "RPG pve" that was planned for ow2 that eventually got scrapped, oh well.

anyways heh what a game, used to be a great game by a great company, now its a shell of its former self, and the company is long gone, corrupted by greed (bobby kotick)

as of the moment the game is a bit wonky and weird and stuff but since it was only released 2 days ago and a lot of problems have been fixed during those two days it seems like (hopefully) most big problems will be fixed until next week and the game will be very playable and fun
