Found my first city. Struggle to fight off horde of barbarian horse archers. Manage to hold the massive armies at bay, but have already lost 3 men.

Turn 25 comes. Over the hill a trumpet sounds. A line of horses span the horizon and bear the mark of the Scythian Empire. An army too large to count burns my lands, steals my settler, and conquers my empire in the span of 4 turns.

Don't normally rate games. Had to just this once.

The negative sentiment here is not unwarranted. The game is unplayable in its current iteration.

The game has severe framerate issues, frames are often displayed for over 30 seconds as if you are watching a powerpoint lecture. The game also has pitiful configuration options available, textures have two settings "Low" and "Normal", if there was an AntiAliasing option available I didn't see it, or it was a simplistic on/off function like every other setting (and the game is in desperate need of more anti aliasing). There are also significant texture streaming issues, with highly compressed textures flaunting themselves shamelessly in otherwise pristine settings.

The game can look beautiful at times. The good news is the 1 frame per 30 second average will let you appretiate how beatiful the scenery is.
