Game is poorly optimized for PC, refunded pretty quickly. Most annoying issue was things like fatal blows, brutalities, and fatalities being locked at 30fps. That means mid fight you will get a massive drop in frames if you use one of these.

Also, this game is one of the greediest and scummiest games I've seen in awhile. Having microtransactions in a 60$ game is bad enough, but the MTs in this game are so heavily pushed and so necessary if you actually want to get stuff in the Krypt. Especially with a currency like the hearts, which you only get in quantities of ONE, and you get them primarily from doing fatalities or brutalities. That means you can only get 1 heart per match if you WIN. The cheapest chests you can open with red hearts cost 100, that means it takes 100 games to afford just one chest, if you win them all. All that work for one single chest that might have items you don't even want. (You can get hearts from other chests in the Krypt, but randomly, and in quantities of like 50. You still have to spend other currencies to open those chests though.)

Also, why the f--- is Frost available as DLC??? You unlock her in campaign after only like an hour of playing. This is so obviously a trap for customers who are unaware that Frost is unlocked in game, almost instantly. The DLC page for it doesn't even mention she can be acquired in game. What the actual hell? This is just a gross attempt to sap more money out of people.
EDIT: After writing this, I noticed they updated her DLC page to say she is obtainable in game. Looks like enough people called them out on their scummy BS.

And the Kombat Pack is 40 DOLLARS??? That's the price of a whole game!! I can buy MKX for less than that!! And assuming the six DLC characters will be $6 dollars each (since Frost and Shao Khan are) that means you would actually SAVE money by just buying the six of them separately. The only way you would save money with this season pass is if each DLC character is $8, which honestly is too much money for just one character I may not even like playing. Can't believe how greedy and dirty the gaming industry has become. Maybe I'll buy it again in the future with its DLC, but only if its on sale for an actually REASONABLE price.

This game has a sidequest from a guy called Face McShooty where the objective is to just shoot him in the face, and if you do it he says thank you and you get money. Do I honestly need to say anything else?

Borderlands has been my favorite game of all time since back in 2011 when two of my friends in my Xbox live party were playing the first game and telling me to get it. I got it and loved it almost immediately, and once I heard the second one was coming out, little 11 year old me begged my parents to preorder it for me. First game I ever preordered. I don't have as many hours on it here, but I can tell you I probably have hundreds of hours on it on my Xbox 360. There's so much greatness to this game that the bad things about it feel miniscule.

I'm gonna go over what I think are the strongest parts of this game:
1. The loot system. No other game has done shoot n' loot better than Borderlands ever since it came out (eat your heart out Destiny) The game's original selling point was that it had a million guns in it. You'll get a ton of loot just by playing through the game and killing bad guys and opening crates. It feels really good to get a nice new gun, or to get a random legendary drop on occasion. There's not a lot of grinding in this game until you start farming specific enemies for specific drops, but I always say that if the gameplay is fun, I don't mind a little grinding.

2. The classes. Each character in this game is very unique, and all can be played differently depending on how you build them. Zer0 the assassin can be built to be a one shot melee ninja or to be a sniper. Maya the siren can be built as a support character for coop or an elemental damage type. The different characters add to the already massive replayability of this game, because you'll want to try playing the game with the others after your first character.

3. The sidequests. Borderlands 2 has some of the best sidequests in any game I've ever played. In most RPG games, sidequests can usually feel like a chore just to get some exp. A lot of the time sidequests in this kind of game can boil down to just killing some guys or going somewhere and picking up an item (anyone remember that Final Fantasy 15 quest where you literally just have to buy a tomato and give it to a guy?) The sidequests in Borderlands though are all really enticing, because they all have charm. While sidequests can still be boiled down to just shooting guys, what you're killing them for and the dialogue you hear make it very charming, funny and enjoyable. A lot of sidequests also add lore and backstory to some characters. Examples: Dr. Zed will give you a sidequest to kill monsters and give him the body parts they drop, and they quest after that you find out he made a bunch of frankenstein ass hybrid monsters, and you get to go kill them. Marcus the gun dealer will give you a quest, where he apparently got drunk one night and accidentally issued refunds to his customers, and now you have to go and get those refunds back for him. The main villain of the game will give you a quest where he will pay you to literally just kill yourself. There's also the fact that a lot of quest rewards are actually worthwhile, since sometimes the reward is a unique gun. Some of the best gear in the game is from sidequests (SandHawk, Rubi, Pimpernel etc.)

4. The charm, humor, story, and characters. I love a game with a sense of humor. There's a lot of things in this game that'll have you laughing, whether it be some sidequests, character dialogue, or whatever weird ♥♥♥♥ the psychos scream when they chase you. The game's story is really enticing, and the characters are all very memorable (especially since most came from the first game) Handsome Jack is one of my all time favorite villains of all time. He's so likeable from the very start of the game when he contacts you directly and asks you politely to die. As the game goes on you'll grow to absolutely love him but completely despise him at the same time, because he's so charming and funny but he's still doing ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up maniac things, and beating him in the end feels so. good. The game is also littered with easter eggs and references, more than I can count. Easter eggs can be on a crazy large scale like the Minecraft one (an entire minecraft room with a badass creeper who can drop a legendary sniper that shoots minecraft arrows) or as small and hidden like the Dark Souls bonfire in Caustic Caverns. A lot of the sidequests are just straight up easter egg missions (A mission where you kill the ninja turtles, a top gun sidequest given to you by Kenny Loggins, etc.)

5. Worthwhile DLC. Honestly Borderlands 2 has some of the most quality DLC of any game I've ever played, like I honestly feel like I'm getting way more than what I payed for with each one. Every campaign DLC adds fun new areas, cool new bosses, awesome gear, and even more charming and lovable characters. Compare the 10 dollar Pirate's Booty DLC campaign, which adds multiple new areas, enemies, and bosses, adds a fun cast of lovable characters, an enticing story, more charming sidequests, more unique gear (including a whole new rarity) and Raid bosses which are hard to beat but easy to understand, to a 20 dollar expansion from any Destiny game, which tends to add one new small boring area, some new exotics, continues the bare bones story from the base game (you are paying to get the rest of the plot, which is boring anyway) one strike, some multiplayer maps and another one of the game's overly complex raids. I pay less for more in Borderlands and more for less in Destiny.

These are some of my favorite aspects of the game that make it stand out to me. Buy this game and trust me you'll will be hooked on it for weeks. I highly recommend buying each installment of the series and playing them in order. I really can't wait for Borderlands 3, which I got a feeling is coming out next year. 10/10

P.S any of y'all thought about what easter eggs and references and ♥♥♥♥ will be like in BL3 with TODAY'S internet culture? Place your bets now, I'm betting on a fidget spinner sidequest, a loss character skin, a gun called 'H' and an NPC named Lucky Luciano.

Even though this game falls short in so many places, it's still pretty awesome and cool. It has a lot of pros but an equally fair share of cons.

I think the best part about this game is how the gameplay and open world take priority over the story telling, I've never played a Final Fantasy before this but I know just how ridiculously anime and complex the stories to these games are so I'm glad this one didn't jam it down my throat too much. The best parts of this game are hopping out of the car, finding a big monster to kill, doing some of the fun sidequests and hunts and exploring this entire areas that you never even see following the main questline. It reminded me of how Metal Gear Solid V kinda shifted focus away from story telling to focus more on the open world. Just make sure you get your open world fun in early because half way through the story, you won't get to explore anymore and everything becomes linear.
The story is kinda bland and not very engaging in my opinion, for awhile I wasn't even sure what I was doing. There's also the fact that part of the story is only told through some movie sold seperate from the game which is dumb. The story kinda picks up towards the end with this plot twist and ♥♥♥♥.
The combat in the game is really fun, it's pretty simple and easy to get the hang of since you kind of just hold down buttons to do most things. That doesn't stop some enemies from being hard pieces of ♥♥♥♥. Fighting feels really fluid and the interactions between your allies in combat are awesome and reminds you that you have actually useful teammates in this game. The way the characters move in this game is also a plus in my eyes, they move like they carry real momentum like real people.
The main cast manages to actually be really likeable. Every other character can go f themselves tbh, but the main four are really likeable and all have actually personalities. It's great seeing their interactions with eachother outside of combat, how they all have their own hobbies n ♥♥♥♥.
Scenery and music are also beautiful as expected.

Then there are the bad parts to the game

The WORST flaws in this game will show up in combat. Probably the biggest issue I have is with the camera angles. When fighting in an open environment, camera angles are fine, absolutely no issues. Fight in an enclosed area, or in a forested area, and you won't even know where you are half the time. Sometimes I'm trying to fight a handful of monsters and I can't even see what I'm doing because the camera is more concerned with what this tree over here is doing. I've played a lot of games that fix this issue by making the obstructions in the camera transparent, but this game didn't do that. Took em ten years and they couldn't figure out how to make the damn trees transparent so I can see myself.
The lock on system is also annoying at times, like sometimes I wanna lock on to the vulnerable enemy directly in front of me but when I press it I'll lock on to an enemy all the way behind me, like someone not even on screen. And moving the anologue stick to get to who I want to lock on to doesn't work because it'll lock on to every other possible enemy even if it's behind them. ♥♥♥♥ like this gets annoying when I want to use armiger on the one tough enemy in a horde, but I gotta let go of lock on to activate it, and once I do and hit lock on again I'm targeting some scrub enemy I don't need to worry about.
One of the most immediately noticeable flaws is the load times, it feels like Sonic 06 load times at times it is just ridiculous. Sometimes manually driving the car to a spot can be faster than going there automatically just because of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ load time.
There's a handful of other small bugs and pet peeve design choices, there's a weird delay when you talk to people at times, and for some reason they made it so when you get items, only one appears on screen at a time. So if a mission has multiple items as a reward, I have to wait for all the items to pop up at the bottom of my screen at a snails pace before I can leave, when they could easily all pop up at once.
The main questline starts falling off later on. Once ignis goes blind gameplay gets a little worse, because you will have to stop moving and wait for them to catch up since they move slowly now. I can understand their combat capabilities getting inhibited, there isn't anything wrong with that, but anything in a game designed to stop or slow your forward motion for no reason is unnecessary. I want to continue, I don't want to stop and wait. Then there is that tedious chapter 13 which I'd rather have an option to skip, and then an incredibly easy final boss

I'd still recommend this game even with its faults, its easy to get hooked onto and play for hours. It's a fun experience, but expect a lot of frustration at times.

First of all, this game should be a 10 dollar DLC, not a 30 dollar standalone.
Secondly, this game kinda sucks. The most fun part of Dishonored was how there were multiple, creative ways for you to get through an area. However, in this game, you only get 3 powers, and their functions only reinforce the linearity of the levels. The powers are a sort of blink where you can leave behind a marker and teleport to it later (the only thing that can be used creatively in combat) a sort of dark vision, and a camflauge. None can be upgraded. The ability to speak to rats is ultimately useless as they tell you nothing you couldn't simply find out by looking around. There really isn't anything interesting for you to do in each level, which would sometimes lead me to just run straight for the objective and get it over with. I haven't even bothered playing original game plus, I heard it only gives you 3 powers from the original game which are very similar to Billie's default powers, not helping at all.
Another problem; The game is 5 missions long. Way too short for the price they placed on it. Also probably plays a role in how crappy the story is since there wasn't enough game time for it to develop.
Let's talk about the story. Sucks. Rescuing Daud felt incredibly anti climactic and all of his character was thrown out the window. He's only here this game to tell you to kill The Outsider. Pretty disappointing, I really liked Daud in the first game. And the whole "kill The Outsider" thing seems interesting at first but it isn't. There isn't really any build up to it or feeling of "oo I can't wait to kill him and see what happens." The ending is also very anti-climactic, and this whole story itself seems unnecessary. All this does is make The Outsider even less of a mysterious, omniscient being, which are his interesting traits.
If you really want to play it, wait for it to go on sale for at least 50%. There's no boss and the last level is just a bunch of enemies simply to make it last longer.
