76 is addictive as fuc and will absolutely turn you into a loot goblin with zero self-control. You’ll hoard everything that isn’t nailed down, from cuttlery to people's dropped bags, only to be reminded again that the 2000 pound stash box is always too small. Honestly, if you’re playing daily, Fallout 1st is hard to ignore; the extra ammo and junk storage as well as the new aid stash.

Yes, the game is buggy as ♥♥♥♥ at times, glitches, odd physics, and the occasional “Bethesda moment” (it just works), not to mention the exploits, cheaters and modders that either shower you with loot or curbstomp your head in are very much part of the experience. And yet… once you start playing, you always come back. Somehow, the chaos just adds to the makes the wastland experience so much better.

It’s a great sandbox to mess around in with friends, experiment with builds, and facepalm when things inevitably break. After all, it’s a Bethesda game—it mostly works, and when it doesn’t, it usually works enough for the ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles.

Edit: I wrote this review when I was at around 250 hours playitime. I’m now sitting at almost 3,000 hours. Why do I keep coming back? No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea.

But it's time I finally updated this review.
