Maps are too large and bases are too small in comparasion. Game mechanics feel all over the place and like many have said before it's literally just a soup of random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The downtime between action is such a slog to get through before you get to anything remotely considered fun

The devs have since addressed all of mine and many other's issues related to performance, quality even gameplay itself. Whether or not things are good now is questionable, however things are much, MUCH better than on release and it's clear the devs do care about the game and it's community.

Things could have absolutely been prevented by doing a simple playtest before the full release and gather all kinds of feedback rather than just doing a full release and hoping for the best but it's still good to see just how quickly they're working on fixing things.

There could still be a lot said about "why are they just now adding basic settings" or "why did they release the game in such an unoptimized state in the beginning?" but it would be unfair for me to still not recommend the game especially after all the stuff I mentioned was ruining the game has been atleast partialy fixed.

Don't know what to write here except that the game is very fun.

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

If you asked me a couple months ago if I would recommend the game I would say NO without a doubt. However, the devs have really put in the work since, and fixed all the balance issues the game had and added a TON of quality of life features and improved the overall polish of the game.

When I started playing last year, during the very first season (S0), all the patches showed that the dev team had an idea on how the game should look/work and almost completely followed their own vision while also listening to player feedback only when it did not go againts their ideas too much. Since then, they've done a complete 180 and now it feels like that they always want to satisfy their players first thing first, whether it's through in-game events that give you rewards or things like making a solo mode a permanent mode.

Arguably the game still has it's issues here and there, but, right now, I would 100% recommend the game, especially since it IS free to play and they've also removed all the P2W stuff.

All though sometimes I'm stuck in a "ok well what do I do now" moment, I always remember I play rimworld and that's kinda the point, do whatever.

Can't imagine playing the game without Royalty and Ideology
