Absolutely brilliant. 721 hrs over several years of Early Access, just finishing the final release.

My only hope is a collab between Coffee Stain Studios and Unknown Worlds for a perfect game of land and undersea adventure.

425 hours played.

I tried, I really really tried. I couldn't find the fun. I used every suggestion the developers gave in their comments to negative reviews. I still can't find anything enjoyable. There are no secrets, no hidden wonders when starting new or playing through 10 new game plus modes. It's just empty planets, loading screens, empty useless spaceships orbiting a planet broken up by forcing the player to watch their character stand and sit in the cockpit.

The skills are so bland if not useless. Why do outpost skills exist? Because you can build outposts. But why do outposts exist? Because you could build settlements in Fallout 4, obviously.

Let's grab some environmental resistance nonsense useless skills, maybe a nice plus 5 percent to pistols since you're gonna obviously want that. Neither the environment or enemy AI will ever be a threat to you. Human AI is going to stand behind cover 100% of the time, Alien enemy AI is going to charge at you 100% of the time. Knowing this, nothing can stop you at any difficulty.

Be a hacker, open doors to nothing of note. Or open the 8 foot tall vent door and walk straight into the VIP's secure yet extremely well ventilated room. Remember Deus Ex? Jesus, that 50 year old game was light years ahead of terms of game vents compared to this stinker.

Enjoy a wide variety of guns, hopefully you put a ton of points into crafting so you can craft ammo for your favorite gun. Hahahaha just kidding, you can't craft ammo, weapons or armor. You can craft pieces to make outposts, but as mentioned earlier outposts have zero purpose in Starfield, like at all, nothing. No reason to exists.

You can snap together pieces of ship, which is kinda neat. Unfortunately the ship flying part was overlooked in this game. Imagine you're in your ship flaying to your destination. You're at the helm, crew at their respective stations, you get hit by a blast, your shield specialist raises shields, your weapons guy is asking for MO POWAH CAPN and you're rushing below decks to secure the hull. It's mayhem, it's exciting, a surprise in your journey. Bbut that's not this game. In this game you don't fly, you point and click, enter a loading screen and point and click and enter another loading screen. A pirate hails you, explains they want cash. You say no and the battle begins, you move your cursor over their ship and hold left mouse button. Your crew starts talking about what books they want their daddy to buy for them. The battle ends and you got listen to another joke from a child NPC, the same joke she tells over and over. Being on you ship is not fun or exciting, you want to avoid having to use your ship.

Quests, there are quests. Regular bethesda quests, which is to be expected. Fine. Hold W and press spacebar occasionally, you're going for a walk across another barren planet to one of 4 locations you're going to see over and over. Kill the guys or talk to the person and fast travel back to do another. Do not waste time exploring, there is nothing to find.

I could go on and on, but 425 hours played, ugh, I tried. I don't even know what modders can do, if they are even willing to try.

Not sure why they released this.

Broken in so many ways. The final straw for me is having the game impossible to even start because of how far I progressed in the city. They hope to have the game running a week after release.

Edit: So they just released patch notes. They state they cannot do more than one hotfix a week. So now many of us can't even start the game because of a bug, we have to hope and pray that once a week we'll get a chance to have the game work.

They can have a fix made on a monday and have to wait til saturday night to give it to us, because the people they hired to host the servers won't let them... Is this 1996?

Unbelievable!

Fun story, enjoyed the artwork, medium to lower end of difficulty.

Got this on sale for around $2. Spent 5 hours to beat it. Great value.

What a waste of a beautiful looking world.

There's very little substance to this game. Adventure Time lore has so many amazing items, weapons, armors etc to work with and you'll find none of them in this game. You don't collect any sort of loot or equip any items at all in this RPG. You just smash at piles of stuff on the ground and get apples or muffins which replenish health.

The overworld has you controlling 4 characters around pathways. You'll encounter a red circle indicating Jake has to be used to cross a gap in the path, then you'll see a treasure chest which means you switch to Marceline to open and get your apple, walking further up the path there's a locked gate which means you switch to BMO. This is the entirety of the gameplay.

I beat this game with my characters at LVL 7. Why is this an RPG game? It plays like a platformer for 6 year olds.

Take LONG walks though a generic world that looks like it was made for another game entirely. Get stuck in the environment as you try to move forward to your destination but the developers put invisible walls trapping you, forcing you to restart the game from scratch.

The combat system is clunky and restrictive. You'll find yourself quickly trying to discover how to cheese every fight. My personal favorite is using the starting bow and piercing shot. It kills anything in one hit, trivializing every encounter in the game.

Voice acting is confusing, the townsfolk say things that don't make any sense. Rent a room at an inn and the innkeeper gets mad at you.

Most locations have ambient sounds which make you want to stick screwdrivers in your ears for relief.

Fun, just very short. 163 minutes of our lives wasted.

This is a point and click on rails, it's very much akin to a walking simulator. There is no challenge, no puzzles, no adventure or anything of the sort. You will not be stumped on anything at any moment.

The one redeeming feature is that it's quite short from start to finish.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS

Game uses some anti-cheat program called Xigncode.
Trying to start the game for the first time just shut me out, giving some cryptic error code 0xE019100B.

A quick google search reveals this decades old anti-cheat doesn't stop cheaters but does a fantastic job of stopping you from playing. Don't reward developers who use this garbage.

Bought this game early access, was a buggy beautiful looking mess with little to do and no reason to do it.

3 years later I return after full release and I feel like my investment years ago paid off big time.

The exploration, crafting and story will have you wandering all over the world lost and engaged. Fantastic.
