SEASON 2 UPDATE: I don't think there's a team of game designers THAT ARE SO OUT OF TOUCH WITH THEIR FAN BASE... more than Michael Murray, Katsuhiro Harada and Kohei Ikeda. These morons are solely responsible for the whopping 8% Overwhelmingly Negative recent reviews for Tekken 8, they really do think like 8 year olds and cannot understand what the audience wants and what the game and its characters needs.

The latter part of this review is how I was incredibly frustrated on how Season 1 was already a ♥♥♥♥ fest, as I warned everyone the dangerous path Tekken 8 was heading into - Season 2 is the epitome of horrible design decisions.

Extremely overpowered and broken characters now have a bunch of moves that offer no counter play against them, lots of game breaking bad bugs, lowered creativity for a braindead style gameplay. SERIOUSLY, HOW IN THE F*CK DO YOU SCREW UP THIS BAD? THEY TOOK EVERYTHING THAT WAS HORRIBLE LAST SEASON AND MADE THEM EVEN BETTER.

Seriously, do you guys even test the game? Any player, be a newbie or a veteran, will tell you that this patch is a complete trainwreck. As much as this specific patch is the one that broke the camel's back, I warned everyone about this. Tekken was going into a stupid direction in which I've seen it coming ever since Tekken 7 Season 3, but oh well... I stopped playing on Season 1 anyways, so people can now learn their lesson and leave this franchise in the dust.

So excited for VF6 because RGG studio actually listens to their audience.

-- SEASON 1 2024 REVIEW --

I wanted to love this game so much, I wanted it so much but... I gave up on it. After 1500+ hours spent on Tekken 7, Tekken 8 really seemed promising with its beautiful graphics, story and fun modes.

Don't get me wrong, when it comes to single play content, this game is super fun! Fully fledged story mode, AI ghost battles, tekken ball, arcade mode, and future DLCs that seem to be promising!

But, it doesn't seem like they've learned anything from the previous game at all when it comes to online features and gameplay. Netcode seems more horrendous than Tekken 7, coupled with the absurdity that is the new heat system, always forcing you to play a game of heads and tails whenever your opponent has Heat. It also doesn't help that this sort of system boosts knowledge check characters and laggy players... All ingredients leading to a recipe for disaster.

Harada and his goons also don't mind entering the current game dev slop that are including battle passes in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ $70 game, with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ rewards that were mostly ported from the previous game. I guess that's why they made customization so lackluster to support this sorry ass business practice.

And... Well... The Season 1 DLC characters do not interest me at all. Eddy should have been in the base game, Lidia is alright at best, Heihachi is kinda cool and I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hoping the last character is someone that will spin me around and make me play this game again... But unless it's either Kiryu, Majima or Lei Wulong, I won't be playing this piece of ♥♥♥♥ anytime soon.
