I rarely post review, but for that game I had to. I'm playing that game out of spite, it's just a downgrade to Hollow Knight.

Everything is annoying and exhausting in that game, the travel time to go back to the boss you were fighting, everything hitting you with 2 hits. Everyone will say "Git good", I agree, sure, but it doesn't make it fun nonetheless.

Silksong just feels like a game where the developers don't want you to succeed and will do everything they can to make sure you spit every blood you have in your body to try and succeed if you do, it just became a souls wanna be game and it sucks.

Update after 100% Achievement : I retain my opinion above, this game is far from being good like the previous game. This will probably be an unpopular opinion but I don't really care, the game was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ exhausting all along, the only enjoyable part was the boss, the rest of the game just annoying, any traversal felt annoying to do, the map was just too big and I felt like passing more time walking around and fighting monsters that were harder than boss, than boss themselves.

I won't be telling people "This game absolutely sucks, don't play it", but I will be praising how the first one is better in every ways.

Don't even bother buying it, find someone that has the map to host it, especially if you do the achievement.

Their Greed will get that already overpriced DLC for a single map from 3 to ~ 10$ and that is just scam. Don't buy the game nor the DLC if you can avoid.

I've never felt so relaxed yet frustrated on a game at the same time, I would completely recommend it.

There is so much to say that I don't even know where to start, so I have decided to talk about each games in each sections, and basically here's a little summary of what you will find in my review :

  • Mass Effect 1
The part of the review dedicated to mass effect 1.

  • Mass Effect 2
The part of the review dedicated to mass effect 2.

  • Mass Effect 3
The part of the review dedicated to mass effect 3.

  • Conclusion
The section that would be my overall review of the trilogy in one.

  • Would I recommend the game ?
As it say, the section which is my recommendation, or not.

  • Informations about the game.
How much hours you must expect for the threes games, a direct link to the store, and a bit of experience achievements wise.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER !!
At some point I might be spoiling some part of the game, but I will make sure to keep anything spoil related into the spoiler syntax.

MASS EFFECT 1
The first game of the license, the same game in which I discovered the whole universe. As you start the game, you aren't familiar with anything, and in my case it throwed me a bit away to play the whole game but I did wanted to go through the whole game and I honestly am so glad that I did, as the game introducing you that gigantic universe does it job pretty well.

In this game, one of the thing that kept me going were the dialogues and the squad mates, as you learn about them during your journey, you also start to see them as your crew and that you really do want the best for them as they will follow your Shepard in whatever situation.

The first game as a place in my heart because of Saren aswell. As you go through the whole game thinking he's the big and bad evil of the franchise, but as you discover mid game the existence of the reapers, a threat that in my opinion is one of the best antagonist of any games I ever played. Especially the first time you talk with Sovereign, it has become one of the most memorable moment of the trilogy for me.

MASS EFFECT 2
My favorite game between the three. In this one mass effect, it directly follows the event of the first one, you are directly pushed into the momento that you had at the end of the previous game, mixed with action and resting moment to learn more about the lore and discuss with your squad mates, there is no moment in that game that felt blank and not needed in my opinion.

As it is the one you gather the most squad mates, Bioware did an amazing job creating more interaction between them and with the protagonist, as they feel alive and not just talking to you to give you a mission. The best moment for me in that game definitely was the suicide mission. The whole tension you get during the mission, as you know you can lose any squadmates if you do the wrong choices or didn't do the specific missions. It had that sense of completion if you manage to get the perfect ending way more than any other game I ever played.

MASS EFFECT 3
The game about enjoying the journey, and not the end. In that one last game of that amazing trilogy, it's the moment where everything matters, all the choices you made in the previous game will have an impact in that game, or at least that's what we thought. In this game, the choices you made didn't impact precisely what will happen, but it's more of a "You made that choice, you gain 5 points, if you did the other you would have gained 10". As the game gives you different choices at the end depending on the amount of points you gathered, It almost feels that the choices you made weren't that important sadly.

Otherwise the whole game, closing on some important lore points and secondary content, discovering some interesting stuff in the DLC's, Mass Effect 3 really is a game you must enjoy as it will end the trilogy (Or not, as you will feel that emptiness as you end the game and will need to redo a playthrough.)

A huge notion to the Citadel DLC which offers contents with the squad making them even more lovable than they are.

CONCLUSION

Mass Effect has become my top 1 universe which I could reply so many time I'd keep enjoying it. There are so many things that makes those three game so enjoyable, that in my opinion you can't discover in a single let's play.

The voice acting in the game is also incredibly good, as none of the dialogue felt repetitve to me and that made the whole game so enjoyable to learn more about the lore. History wise, you begin the three without knowing anything of the world, and you will end the last game knowing so much stuff about the Mass Effect universe, as the history isn't all around Shepard and his / her crew, but Shepard's story is a point that is added to the story, which I find pretty rare in games those days.

One point I didn't mention in the three games review which is important is the Paragon / Renegade system, that "good / evil" part that will open many choices and dialogues depending on which side you decide to go through. It's for me something that makes Mass Effect what it is to this day, and I do hope we will see it in the futur games.

Also you will enjoy Garrus, he's the best boi and will be the first thing you will search for every single time.

WOULD I RECOMMEND THE GAME ?

So, the important part of the review.
I would obviously recommend the games, but not to everyone ! As the trilogy is for me a masterpiece, it's because I'm enjoying a lot anything with in a space setting.
If you love RPG's, games that request you to dialogue with many NPC's, enjoy gun combat, this game is for you.
If you are someone that usually skip cinematics and are just looking for combat, I'd advice to avoid the game until you want to invest time to understand and enjoy the lore !

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE GAMES.

You must expect around 80-100 hours playing the three games. As I did a recent playthrough and really go for the 100% of each games, it took me between 30-35 hours per games.

Achievement wise, the game is pretty enjoyable to do, as they removed some of the achievement that were in the originals game and added some that you need to do during the three games. If you are looking to do it in a single playthrough, I do advice to follow a guide since there is a lot of stuff that can be too late to be done.

Playing in the Insanity difficulty, there is one thing that can help you go through the third game, the Turian that is known for his calibrations, get yourself the God Garrus.

You can find the game right here, for the price of 60€ :

I started a game
My friend was actually ahead from fews points
Last hole, I made him miss the hole multiples times
He did 14, I did 10
I won with only 1 point ahead
He ragequite and uninstalled the game

Totally worth it.

EDIT : ♥♥♥♥ this game, making you pay a DLC for a single map that adds achievements, so basically you can't do the 100% without buying a 3$ map that isn't worth it.
