TL/DR: Reminds me of earlier GalCiv. I enjoyed it though it has some rough edges. You might like it too, but be willing to try it for a bit and restart once or twice to really figure out how the game plays.

I'll admit that I bought this game when it came out, looked at it for 13 minutes, decided I wasn't into it, and dropped it. For six years. But then I went browsing my library after those six years, looking for something I hadn't played and discovered this still had good reviews (impressive in it's own right), and fired it up. It's got some classic 4X vibes going for it, and while the UI/UX can be a little clumsy at times, it manages to remind me of how I felt playing the earlier Galactic Civilization 1 and 2 games--that feeling being one of genuine enjoyment, even with the somewhat rough UX and some missing QoL stuff like fleet management and rally points. It's possible I just missed them. Which is what happened with the terraforming system which I'm certain exists but can't find the button to actually terraform anything despite having the techs for it.
