Games as a unique form of art and games with references to other art-forms.

This is an experimental group, started in August 2014, dedicated to discussions about games as an art-form on an equal level with visual arts (movies, photograping, comics, etc.), literature (poetry, novels, romans, ...) and, last but not least, music.
As someone with some experience in the "cultural sector", I am set to discover & enjoy modern games (the good ones!!) as a major art form of our day, comparable to, let's say, opera in the 18th century, or painting in the 19th, or poetry in the 20th ;-). It often strucks me how artistic games have become over the past five years or so; since the "Indie Revolution", a completely new generation of developers has taken games to an entirely different level, in my opinion.

I will invite some of my dear Steam-friends who are interested in this matter so we have a forum on our own, a kind of intellectual laboratory to linger on all themes connected to games as an artform. I intend to keep the group small, surely in the beginning, so that we really can keep on-topic in our discussions and talk.

Please do not feel obliged to anything. This group is intended for discovery, enjoyment & wondering at the marvels of games, the passion for which we all share. Nothing is necessary or expected, all can be said, as long as it's polite and constructive.

After only two months, I am glad to see the group is slowly but surely growing, in members as well as in contributions, all of which are really interesting. Let's continue to develop this into a unique place in Steam!
