Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope expertly blends classic platforming mechanics with modern design sensibilities, delivering a tight, joyful, and endlessly replayable action adventure.

Fantastic game. Great music, great art style, just awesome. Here are some of the flaws in my opinion (Mainly applies to those who haven't played this genre much)
1. Shovel Knight dies instantly from spikes. I feel that the spikes should do double damage but not kill you. I know this may seem way too lenient on the player but it is very frustrating to fall into spikes after getting knockback damage from halfway across the screen. (I think if they made the damage doubled and the player respawned at the platform they had fallen the problem would be solved for me. Maybe just give the player one chance to do it before actually dying and respawning at the checkpoint idk)
2. Bosses are too easily cheesed. (Combat orb, harrumph HARRUMPH).
3. The movement in general is very accurate to how it was back then, and in terms of theming I have no complaints. However, I just wish the jump height was a little higher, that's all.

Aside from those 3 I have literally no complaints. I adore the items and their unique purposes, and propellor knight, mole knight and polar knight are genuinely extremely fun boss fights. Would 100% recommend to enjoyers of Hollow Knight, Megaman and Celeste.
