Final Fantasy X is a game I think everyone should have added to their bucket list. It is a game that had wonderous music, was shown on Toonami back in the days for a review, had a phenomenal story, people could relate to the characters good or ill, and it will be my 20th review I have done. Why is this game so fantastic? Why should you play it? Lets find out if this is for you. But firstly let it be known that this will be mainly focused on FFX. Not FFX2, I can't speak much on it since I have never played it fully. And hopefully you will enjoy this in-depth read.

So, what is this game about? Its set in a wonderful world where you are Tidus a Blitzball player who was like a Quarterback player was in football, a ace. During a game their world was attacked by a unknown creature, a creature that ended up destroying everything you knew and you had to escape it. But while escaping it you are plunged into a time like loop where you are sent off to the future of the same world you knew and everything you once knew was lost...this...is your story and what awaits you is a truly masterful story everyone should experience. To me, I felt this game really gave a lot of wonderful features to you the player which was pretty remarkable for the age of the game which was originally a Playstation 2 game at the time.

The combat is like that of the classic FF games that you may be used to if you have played games from FF1 to FF9. You take turns and strategize on what commands you will do in order to win. They use a lot of classic spells that you are familiar with. Best of all you can summon Aeon's if you love them and have them blast away all kinds of foes! You even have a special move that you can unleash after filling a combat bar to maximum called Overdrives. Which can be pretty cool depending on your character. It keeps you engaged and is really a combat I honestly enjoy a lot of. Let me ask you something. Have you been playing the recent FF games like Final Fantasy XVI? XV? Do you feel like when you play them, especially XVI that your character seems to be the only damn good player that actually contributes to battles? Does it make you angry that your allies are weak and useless? Then this will be to your liking as all characters you have on this game will become powerful as you grow them. Sure there is a lot of grinding and lvling as the game goes on. But it is never the kind that forces you to stop and keep grinding depending on if you are playing on a hard mode or even are trying to explore a secret area that will have more challenging foes with interesting stories along with rewards that await you...

Characters. Wow, I was really stunned by the cast of the game. Truly, I thought the game was brilliantly written, it captured my heart. You will see a lot of things that you can relate to. You have love, you have brotherhood, a special kinship, and you have a past that you may relate to. Heck you even have a foreign language you come across where as you explore and go along your adventure you find tomes that will help you understand it over time. I would love to talk about each character but that may spoil the fun! Just trust me when I tell you that they are all amazing!

The music, omg. The music! Its so damn good. I wholeheartedly suggest anyone to go and take the time to listen to the album of this great game! You have hymms that are too damn short! But are sung wonderfully, you have music that reaches your heart and grasps the moment you are experiencing in a wonderful manner. At the time, steam did not sell this music, in which I was greatly upset and disappointed. So I ended up getting it from amazon. I think it is worth full retail, but hey if you want to get it during a sale. More power to you my friend! I had a lot of moments during cutscenes or places where the music really suited the moment, and I wanted to stay there and enjoy it. Granted, not all music in the game is excellent some I kinda hate, some I am okay with. But most I love.

Most of my hours you see, 89 have mainly been used on the original FFX. I don't know if you are the kind of gamer that wants crazy good looking graphics to play and experience. But in all honestly I think this game looks wonderful no matter what. And regardless of how it looks is a story to experience. In my opinion if there was ever a game I feel that FF should remaster in a way they did FFVII it should be this game. Not 7. 7 I have never been a fan of. Hate me if you want. But I think X is pretty much the best FF I have experienced thus far.

Remember how I mentioned that there were secret area's in this game? There are also secret weapons to obtain too! Weapons you can earn after doing certain things that allow you to deal a lot of damage, way past the standard cap you may hit at some point which is 9999. Not only that but it has some fun game modes, just two unfortunately. Blitzball and a Chocobo speed trail.

Blitzball, the best way I can describe it is basically a giant globe of water that you can somehow breathe in where you and your team go after a ball and do all kinds of tackles and tricks in order to ether pass it, carry it, or just simply shoot it like a soccer ball into your opponents net. I dont think its for everyone. But I certainly enjoyed it. Whats fun is they all can lvl up and you can also look for players to recruit on your team to play! Some of them are truly great aces you will surely want if you become a avid fan!

Chocobo speed trail, I don't remember much. I honestly was not a fan of it. But you basically rode on it while trying to avoid things in order to reach Point A to Point B in the fastest speed possible. Be fast enough and you win prizes. Simple.

Not sure what else to mention to you, you lvl up. You earn points that you can use in a giant circle tree of skills that awaits you so if you play the game enough...you can basically have that character be anything you want aside from a summoner. We only need one after all. The lovely Yuna! Be it a mage, a healer, a tank. Whatever. (This is certainly the case when you beat the game/decide to play a hard mode where you can spend your points where ever you deem necessary in the giant skill tree.) You can equip them with weapons and items, you can create which team of players you have fighting or which ones you like to hold in reserves but may ultimately go to if the fight is hard enough. You'll come across that a fair amount I feel... you explore a lot of different lands and places. All memorable. And best of all you have a story that can really touch your heart. I know it touched mine.

So, hopefully helps you decide on making a purchase of this fine game and I truly hope you felt as I did when you experience it. It holds a special spot thats near and dear to me. Its my first game I ever played that was FF, it was a game where my younger brother introduced me to it. If not for him, I may never have gotten into FF games. So I dedicate this review to him. Tried this game because someone important to me loves it. I'm not usually a big Final Fantasy fan, in fact I have never played any of the series, but this one really surprised me. The story was touching and left me wanting more after finishing. I haven't completed FFX-2 yet, but I hope it gives a good closure between Yuna and Tidus

FFX is even better than I remember. 10/10

FFX-2 never played that one as a kid. I gave it a shot at least... oh well!
