Welcome to the 30th edition of The Brighter Leek.

With the launch of Project Milestones Phase 2, we are now turning our full attention to Phase 3, starting with bounties and world events. As you can see from the launch schedule below, we have plenty of updates heading your way very soon!

This is subject to change. This is what we are aiming for, not a promise. The aim is to move to a weekly update schedule which alternates between large updates and small updates.

The major features of Project Milestone are:

Botanist
• A new profession that replaced Gatherer.

Milestones
• A better structure for leveling up, based around reaching a milestone every 50 levels, with a new XP curve to match.
• Adjusts the level of repeated (i.e. reskinned) activities, such that there are no repeated activities within a milestone (and therefore there are no repeated activities within the first 50 levels of a profession).
• Milestone unlocks, such as new activities, bounties, world events and dungeons, which deliver meaningful rewards for reaching a milestone.
• New activities in many professions.

Bounties for all professions
• Bonus objectives, which add variety when leveling up.
• Rare bounties will sometimes appear, which give better rewards, but appear less frequently on the bounty board.

World events for all professions
• A repeating calendar of multiplayer events.

Dungeons for all professions
• Solo and multiplayer excursions into unexplored regions of Adothria.
• Remixes the profession in a whole new way, adding more options for leveling up.

New Crenopolis Activities
• Adding more variety to the Crenopolis professions.

• Change the milestone cash compensation code to ignore the change in price in certain venture items (lobsters, oysters, grapes, cinnamon sticks, brimstone and explosives), as people with a huge number of these banked were not getting a fair amount of compensation. This means when you next login, if you had a lot of these you may get some additional compensation.

• Change how XP and knowledge potions boost combine with rare bounty boosts. Previously if you had say: an XP potion multiplier of +20% and a rare bounty multiplier of +100%, the two boosts were MULTIPLIED together giving a total boost of 1.2 x 2.0 = +140%. This was overpowered. Now if you have both boosts at once, the two boosts are ADDED together. So the +20% of the XP potion, and the +100% of the bounty multiplier, combine to +120%.

• Change when places/npcs in the world upgrade to the next 'skin'. We thought if would emphasize milestone levels and make reaching a new milestone feel more rewarding if everything in the world upgraded to the next skin simultaneously when you reached a new milestone, but in practice it was just annoying. Therefore we have reverted it, such that places/npcs in the world only upgrade to the new skin when you reach the required level, NOT when you reach the required milestone. Note this change does not affect combat, combat npcs still upgrade when you choose a new foe pack.

• Change the XP display on the 'view rewards' interface to show the exact amount of XP that the activity will give rather than a percentage of the 'normal' rate, as this is easier to understand. The bar below still shows the percentage of the 'normal' rate so you can now see BOTH pieces of information if you want. For passive activities this indicates the rate of xp per hour. For active activities this indicates the amount of XP you will get from doing the activity once. Note: you still can't simply compare 2 adjacent activities to determine which is 'best' as they might take a different amount of time to do, but it does at least provide more information. Note: The investigations activity still shows a percentage, as the exact amount is a wide range depending on the specific investigation generated. Npc foe cards no longer show the XP for defeating as this information is now on the 'view rewards' interface instead.

• Add a key bind to trigger the 'double harvest' boost of the action you are currently doing. This defaults to the 'F' key.
• Make the collected bounties interface stretch to fill the available space.
• Make the icon on collected bounties auto-hide to make more space for the text when necessary.
• Make clicking on the knowledge progress orb in the profession interface open the knowledge interface.
• Make the 'willow water isn't any more effective than normal water' message only shown once per session.
• Allow any milestone of oak log to be used to make oak planks for the Hopeforest main quest and the Spider's Nest quest.
• You can now view the recipe, rewards and info for activities you have not yet unlocked.
• Passive activities for which you have the level, but not the knowledge points, are no longer dimmed in the professions interface.

• Fix bug where, if you let your premium pass lapse, it could end up repeatedly opening the foe pack interface every time you gained combat xp.
• Fix text sometimes overlapping the graphic on the progress orb in the profession interface.
• Fix incorrect question marks showing on quest requirements tooltip.
• Fix error in Hopeforest main quest.
• Fix status effects you cannot click on behaving as if they are clickable.
• Fix alignment of willow water milestone level on watering can.
• Fix some animation glitches when cooking bream.
• Fix kobold outlines.
• Fix incorrect hint in Beecause quest, which became broken due to trees being relocated.
