Final Fantasy V is an decent game among the FF franchise. If you play through this game unspoiled, you will greatly enjoy the story and characters. This is the first of the franchise to stress you out with a few limited locations that are also limited time! (as in you literally will have a timer ticking in your face)

On the off-hand that you do ever decide to get 100% achievements, even if you're a monolith of patience, wisdom and god-given intuition, I recommend following the 100% guide (and then still have a lot of patience). Out of all the six games of the pixel master bundle I've found this one to be the most finicky with the achievements (all blue magic + lots of missable chest locations + mastering all the jobs in the game etc.) having the most (39) ones by far.

Overall solid game but for the modern day this price-tag feels a bit over-the-top.

Now this was a lot, almost gave up towards the middle-end. A long game.
Took me 43 hours to get all the achievements. Job system is interesting.

Summary: FF5 is my favourite pixel era game (and has the best battle theme). FF5 combines the narrative push FF4 had with the job freedom FF3 had. FF5's job system was very well crafted allowing class mixing to suit your playstyle and boss requirements. The Blue Mage in this game is a bit of a chore to get spells for but will make so many boss encounters trivial with the power they can bring (I LOVE BLUE MAGIC). This was also the first game to introduce Superbosses which would go on to be a series staple.

Differing from FF3, even with the job freedom, FF5 has a cast of likeable characters who are with you the whole adventure without rotating out key members. The story is a bit more bland than FF4 with a comically evil antagonist and the game has a more whimsical feel to it to contrast with how dark FF4 was. Gilgamesh was a fantastic include to the series, as is Omega both of which would go on to show up in many future titles.

I find the job mixing to be a highlight of the game for replayability as you can approach each encounter with numerous stratergies, many of which are fun to play with on sebsequent playthroughs which is a limitationon games like FF4 where each character is more fixed.
