10 out of 10 my fave megaman game

I don't remember how I was first introduced to these games years ago as a child, but I remember playing several of them. Found many gaps in my memory while revisiting these and was fun remembering what I'd forgotten. There's a lot of silly typos and dialogue errors across the games.

BN1: Nostalgic, ugliest net map design, each area of the internet is almost indistinguishable from the next one unless they connect to someone's PC or like the areas from 12-16. Also all the shortcuts into the net stop at area 4 when there are 12 deeper layers to go through. Such an ordeal to go deep into the net, and make round trips. Music is iconic, was very memorable.

BN2: First things I noticed were changes to the color, the same areas and sprites from the previous game were brighter. I appreciate keeping the classic town and area music but mixing new audio layers in. The internet design is 100x better, more compact areas, more and better shortcuts, actually has color now instead of thin white lines through a void of white, the backgrounds for the net areas are more stylistic, and divided into different themes and styles that stand out. The UI looks nicer all around. Despite there being more chips in this game it feels like there's less good options than the first game or maybe they just aren't as good because of design tweaks. Style system is cool but takes way too long to unlock/progress them. The story and world is expanded and improved. Not really a fan of the complexity of the busting system, getting graded down for moving too much and using your basic gun is weird.

BN3: At first I wasn't sure if I had played this one, was hard to remember but a lot of minor things really stuck to memory that I recognized immediately such as the new Bad Navi design with their flat round heads, random new chips such as AirShot and Lance, and the first flashback scene where you watch Dex tweaking at some school pets lol. The UI took a very ugly turn in White, battle UI is fine though. Not a fan of the Pokemonification they start doing of the series giving it two versions to justify like 5 minor changes. Something nice about this game is there's more interpersonal dialogue between characters instead of just talking about whatever the current main plot point is e.g. I'm going to the opera/park tomorrow, see ya, etc. The new Navicust system is cool but annoying, they force you to use certain programs and limit your customization.

Really big fan of the Megaman Battle Network games, here! (Especially Battle Chip Challenge and Network Transmission, which have, unfortunately, not been remastered nor added to these collections.)
I was glad to finally have a way to buy all of the games I have yet to play in one (well, okay, *two*) full collections of remastered games. I love the UI (looks like your own PET!) and I'm certain the games are as great as the originals (with slightly better graphics). These games present you with the option to play in different languages with at least two of those options being English and the original Japanese. Since I am familiar with the game mechanics from Megaman Battle Network 5 and I am still studying Japanese, I selected Japanese for both the voicing and text. This feels like great practice for my Japanese, though ***please be warned*** that many of the characters have dialogue written in katakana instead of the normal hiragana and kanji that people would typically use for those words. For many beginner Japanese learners, this may sound like it will make reading a lot easier, but I found it to be far more difficult than reading in a style more reminiscent of regular modern Japanese.
I would recommend these games to anyone who likes "deck-building" type games with a little bit of action thrown in. These are older games (and may still have a retro style by today's games' standards) but still have an amazing appeal due to their incredible depth of strategy, decent story length, and range of challenge presented in both normal enemy encounters and boss fights. This makes for games that truly rival some of the more recently made deck-builder genre games in terms of challenge and overall fun. If you are at all unsure about these games, please either try a demo (if one is available?) or look up clones of this game and see if there are any demos for those games. Hopefully you will get a better sense of how fun these games are that way AND notice how many games have tried to copy some of the most exceptional aspects of this particular collection of games.
